Delicious food for Sunday lunch. The service was a little disorganised at times. But the staff were really nice. Would definitely go back.

A party of four of us has a really lovely evening meal at this well-developed and recently enhanced pub. We were warmly welcomed by a group of young and enthusiastic staff, who then looked after us efficiently and warmly throughout the evening. They were always attentive but never intrusive. But the real joy of the evening was the quality of the food served - the fish and chips meal that I ordered, as did another member of our party, was unquestionably one of the best example of this menu item that I have ever eaten. The other two members of our party ordered the Risotto, and this was also deemed to be a meal that was also both enjoyable and of a very high quality. The Chef surely needs to be recognised for producing meals of this standard.
Our party had a lovely and enjoyable evening - and we shall certainly be visiting again

Very good scenic location, excellent food and service. My only minor issue (and I know people will think differently) is that all staff could have been wearing masks as it is still law as far as I'm aware until the 19th July.

The staff couldn’t do enough, a credit to the pub and the food was excellent. Oscar and Monty were an added extra to ambiance, so cute. The pub itself was lovely, the outside space and views were great. The landlord came to say hello and was a lovely chap. We will definitely be back very soon.

A lovely pub with fantastic views over the countryside. A small menu compared to some gastro pubs but the food was excellent. They don't try to re-invent the wheel. It's just hearty pub food done very well. Really friendly, attentive staff and well kept beer as well. Thoroughly recommended just for a drink to soak up the views or a first class meal. A lot of people comment on Oscar the parrot but for an animal/ bird lover, it was the only negative of the evening. No matter how well kept he is, he's still a bird trapped in a cage and these days there are sanctuaries I'm sure could take him and give him a better life with his own kind. They live a long time and they are an intelligent species of bird so it seems unnecessarily cruel to me when we now know better. Other than that, a great pub.

Lovely setting for my husbands birthday. Very enjoyable, staff attentive and food very nice. Not the cheapest lunch in the world. Not the place to go if you want a cheap and cheerful pub lunch, more of a gastro-pub. Just what we needed after lockdown.

Nice meal, excellent surroundings. My only minor gripe being that I am not a fan of food served on wooden boards. If I realised I would have asked for a plate when ordering. Didn't spoil the occasion

We were welcomed like friends of the family and shown straight to our table. It was very busy but in a nice way. Not much noise so it was very relaxing. The drinks arrived very quickly and our perfectly cooked steaks arrived quicker than I expected.
The only problem we found was the main meal was so good we couldn't find room for dessert.

I chanced on The Dumb Post a few weeks ago with a friend. This time another friend suggested lunch and immediately thought of The Dumb Post as a perfect venue given the glorious weather. A decision I do not regret one iota.

Went for lunch on Monday, the food was great and can’t fault that, but the service wasn’t attentive at all.
After being seated, we had our order taken. When mains came, we asked if we could order more drinks, waiter said he would return but didn’t, I had to go to the bar and order.
Once we had eaten our starter, the plates and board were left on the table, and then when we had finished everything and the kids were having pudding were asked if we wanted them cleared away.
We weren’t checked on to see if every thing was ok either. It wasn’t very busy, so was quite disappointed by this.

Hoping this was an off day, as enjoyed the food.
