Unfortunately When you book online you assume that you are sitting outside on the proper tables with the canopy over you with the heaters but now we were put in the middle of a field on a park bench to eat a roast dinner which was very dry

Chicken burger was undercooked, slightly pink and very rubbery, looked like it was cooked with the skin on, not good at all

Had a lovely meal would of just appreciated the heaters to of been across the areas, we were sat on a wet wooden table round the side by the entrance which had been rained on, no umbrellas on our table and heaters we’re all gathered on the one side of the main patio. 2 hour limit when it wasn’t booked after us was also very strange when tables were free around us.

My first visit to a pub since look down!
The staff could not have done more to make us feel welcome & relaxed.
Such a beautiful view from the terrace.
Will be looking forward to my next visit.

It was a very chilly evening to sit out...remember extra layers!! But that said we were able to move tables once others left & it did feel better under a gazebo with a small heater overhead!
Great service & burger was amazing!

Enjoyed our visit and heaters are a good touch, however £2.70 is a little expensive for a can of Diet Coke!

Food was lovely and was set in the beautiful Wiltshire. Gutted I wasn’t told there wasn’t any crackling with the pork, I would’ve ordered an alternative.
Other than that, overall our visit was pleasant and we would come again

Overall the experience and meal was good, but both the main and desserts lacked something, the fish was quite bland and the desserts for the price weren’t what we expected. The service was good, and where we were sat gave a great view. Would go again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at the Dumb Post despite the damp weather. We knew the weather was going to be a bit chilly and possibly some showers, so wrapped up warm and took a couple of blankets. The overhead heater meant that the blankets were never used. On the table was a mini blackboard with our name and booking times (start/finish) which was useful! The food was very good. There were no complaints about the quality or cooking of the burgers and my oldest thoroughly enjoyed the gammon. I opted for steak & frites. The steak was tender and frites very moreish! The chocolate brownie with mousse was also popular, bowls were practically clean by those who chose it. The honey cake with lavender panna cotta was simply divine. It was obvious that the staff were trained to maintain as much distance as practical when serving and taking orders, as a family who have not been out & about for a while, we definitely felt safe. Looking forward to returning for more!

Great pub with breathtaking views over the countryside. We have been at least once a week since restrictions eased and each time it does not disappoint at all. Even when it was raining we were under cover and this did not dampen or spoil the experience, outstanding food, great service and a great team. See you really soon and thank you :)

The customer service was okay a bit of a pain we were not allowed to have the heating on max due to there electric limit So we had to freeze instead. The food wasn’t very good we found. The burgers were lovely. But the steaks were over cooked we requested rare. It also tasted like charcoal had no flavour. The Stilton sauce wasn’t very strong and tasted like a mild cheese sauce. The onion rings were very nice though and the dessert was quite nice. Overall we would try again as they could of had an off day. But disappointed to find we were charged for pints of beer at full price even though we had shandy’s which I thought would be billed at half pint with half lemonade.

It was obvious the Dumb Post had made effort to provide a good outdoor space within COVID restrictions. Very good service from start to finish a pretty good menu for lunch time with everything cooked to a high standard.
Our party of four will be back.

The setting is idyllic and everything is well set up with Covid in mind. The outside bar is a great innovation and the lighting under the trees very effective. The food was delicious, staff efficient and welcoming. The general atmosphere was extremely friendly and it was a treat to be out with friends once more.

I know this was entirely my fault - I did not check the details closely enough, but the Kitchen at the Dumb Post is not open all day on a Saturday so we only had drinks.

Stated online booking for 2 hours. It was only 90mins when arrived. We were only served once, no one asked if our food was okay, half hour before the end of booking we asked for another drink twice, no one came. We had to leave our table to ask for the bill. Poor service and set up. I understand they’ve not worked for a long time but surely they’ve had long enough to plan the easy running of the place. And it wasn’t as busy as you’d think it would be so being busy isn’t an excuse. Just poor service. Won’t be going back in a hurry.
