A lovely meal and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. It was Christmas Eve the mood was very subdued and it would have been nice to have had some Christmas music in the background and it didn’t have a very Christmassy feel. But under the circumstances and the prospect of having to shut the premises yet again due to covid tier regulations it was hardly surprising that the staff were not brimming with Christmas cheer. It would be lovely to visit the pub again in better, happier times for all.
We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived at the Dun Cow. Service was friendly and all the staff were charming. Food delicious it is a shame that they are now closed due to T4.
When they re-open we will be back.
Very enjoyable the menu was a bit limited due to the fact that they were having to close after that day, otherwise everything was of the usual high standard.
Excellent all round. All Covid restrictions adhered. Warm cosy pub , roaring fire. We had the best Mussels we have ever tasted.
Great welcome in cosy coastal pub with excellent food and friendly service.
Food was wonderful although the room was very quiet. That was more down to the time of day we ate than anything else.
Loved the food... service was a little on the abrupt side “sit there” “ at the end”
Also don’t need to hear the doom and gloom of the present situation
Will always return to our favourite pub although different this last time with so few folk inside due to covid
Excellent as always. Great service, tasty food and the team their did a great job of managing the existing Covid restrictions.
A great place with great food. Great location close to the sea.
Really nice meal , great customer service . Relaxed atmosphere
Great lunch as always staff lovely and attentive. However, I did not enjoy sitting in the back room, felt very remote from the main restaurant, not very festive.
Excellent meal - both starters and main courses very good.
Excellent meal in a very relaxed Covid secure layout. Staff couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcome and help us enjoy the great food.
Fantastic food (especially the garlic bread!!) and great service. One of our favourite places to eat when we’re in the area
We felt very safe here, in fact I was really impressed with the arrangements and space between the tables. Great fish and chips and very enjoyable. Thanks.
I would always recommend the Dun Cow although it’s so good I should keep it a secret.
We had a really nice time, my food wasn’t quite right but they sorted it with no fuss. Would really recommend this place
Given current constraints, our lunch was as good as ever.
Lovely food - generous portions, nicely presented and piping hot. Have been here several times, although usually for lunch in the summer, and never been disappointed. This was our first time for an evening meal and the food and service were as good as ever.
Nice light and airy pub. Simple menu served well, would eat there again.
As we don't live local this was only our second time at The Dunn Cow, however the first time with pandemic rules in place. The pub was spotless, tables arranged to social distance requirements & the loos were very clean. Plenty of sanitiser around too. The food is fabulous with a good selection to suit all tastes & budgets.
Service is spot on. Staff are polite, courteous & friendly. A suitable break was left for our main course to digest before ordering dessert. much appreciated.
We only get to the North Norfolk Coast once a year & have stayed in Salthouse before. We will be back the the Dunn Cow next year. Thanks to all concerned.
We went on a recommendation and was certainly not disappointed. Mid week evening in December and it had a wonderful warmth and ambience. Oysters and sherry and small plates. Perfect. Staff were super friendly and professional. Quality of food was exceptional. Would happily return here.
Lovely set, good quality food and very friendly staff. Will definitely come again.
Small dishes are well cooked and great value when teamed with a side order. Service attentive and nice atmosphere.
It is always worth visiting the Dun Cow, not just for the ambience of the pub, but for the beautiful views overlooking the salt marshes.
Lovely welcome, lovely food. We are a family of 5 and all thoroughly enjoyed our meals.
Steak, Chicken, Risotto and Children's Burger and Fish and Chips.
As always, an excellent lunch at The Dun Cow. We both enjoyed a huge bowl of delicious mussels, foaming buttery garlic bread, a creme brûlée and a sticky toffee pudding.
The service is super friendly and efficient. The menu was interesting and I wasn’t surprised to hear there’s a new head chef with fresh ideas. The food has always been very good but it was extra tasty yesterday!
Gorgeous, friendly pub restaurant with delicious food. Cosy atmosphere, where you're made to feel really welcome. Good portion size and great selection of drinks.
The food and service was excellent but atmosphere was lacking, probably due to everyone being spaced properly. The food was delicious!!
It was so lovely being out!! Dun Cow ambience was great, staff were very friendly, our waiter Johnny was lovely and helpful, food very hot and very good definitely will be re visiting
Great food and they went out of their way to cater for my slightly odd dietary restrictions. Already recommend them and will continue to do so.
We last visited during the summer for a drink in the delightful back garden. This time we booked for a meal and, as before, everything is professional and efficient to take account of Covid. Food and service excellent.
Only two minor disappointments: pump beer was Wherry, not one of my favourites, and one I'd never heard of. If memory service correct, they used to have Adnams. Also, we were placed in the backroom - OK, but it doesn't have the same ambience as the main dining area.
what a treat, ate at the Dun Cow twice in one week! Despite necessary limited numbers, still had a fantastic meal in great atmosphere with usual warm welcome.
Perfect table by the fire with superb food served by jolly staff - thank you
Great friendly staff. Love it there. Warm. Decorations up. Can get a glass of Champagne and good fish dishes. Have been going for years. One of my favourites in north Norfolk.
Excellent service as usual. Pleasant staff and atmosphere. Never disappointed here.
Food was great. Lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good to see it back in action!
As always the food and service excellent. A good choice on the menu the mussels highly recommended also fish and chips very good.
Really disappointed with the steaks. Really fatty rib eye with hardly and decent meat on it. Not cooked to what had been asked. Really disappointed as was my sons birthday and he loves the Dun Cow steaks.
