The best food and service!
The menu is never the same when we come here but the preparation and flavors are always top notch.
We were there for three hours everything was late and not very good
It's a great place for draft beers and some comfort food. Liked it! Definitely try the cider that has blueberry on it. :D
The menu was small, but the food was alright. I wasn't a fan of the server. He didn't check on us while the food took forever. I also asked for my wings and a side as my entree and for some reason he insisted on the wings coming out as an appetizer.
We had the Salmon, which was blend, tasteless. Lack of vegetarian option other than salad.
Solid, upper scaled bar food. A little pricey but the final product was excellent.
Hadn't been back to Ale House in almost two years. Ate Sunday lunch inside to take advantage of great appearance of old tavern comfort (in beautiful condition), stained woodwork, booths and bar. Menu of course limited a little bit given current times, vs. last visit. Food was wonderful as was service. Cocktail menu is nicely done with varied interesting choices and of course many ales to enjoy. We were very happy to get back to the Dutch Ale House (which for now is also operating a spacious tent beer garden out back).
The menu was somewhat limited compared to previous times I was there. Other than that it's still a great place to go.
I’ll my boyfriend and I got burgers and they were delicious. Get the truffle fries or you are missing out!
Beautiful outdoor seating. Fantastic food.
The Dutch was awesome!! Bob was great and the food and drinks were delicious. It was a welcomed night out amidst the craziness!!
A terrific burger in a charming and lovely space. The only drawback was that the restaurant's online ordering system resulted in a substantial delay when it came to getting our food. The restaurant was apologetic about this and provided an extra side of fries to make up for the lengthy lag. Would eat here again.
Always a favorite when we visit Saugerties, highly recommend.
Excellent service, food and ambiance. Very loud and difficult to hear.
Always consistently good. Bleu Burger, Fish & Chips
and Shrimp & Grits shine as best loved dishes for us.
Third time visiting Saugerties and our third visit to Dutch Ale House. Food is always excellent but the attention from the staff is even better!
Went to Dutch Ale House tonight with a friend who lives. Locally. We started with drinks and the hummus appetizer. We each had the market Salad with Chicken or Salmon. Both were equally good.
Our server Victoria C was attentive, the food excellent and the overall experience great.
See you next tine!!!
We go to The Dutch Ale House near weekly. Great food, drinks, service and ambiance. A true Saugerties gem!
Horrible experience all-around. Burnt sandwich, unsalted fries, cold meat and a belligerent server...avoid this establishment at all costs.
Neat place. Interesting food choices. They do not rush you even on a weekend.
Best onion soup - good wine
Food was great, as was the service. The only downfall is we were seated in a booth next to the bar in the first room. It was a little tight for anything more than 2 people and too close to the folks sitting on the bar stools.
We booked two tables for 8 people for New Years Eve at 10pm. We arrived a little early and we're accommodated quickly. The main menu went off at 10, so the waitress allowed us to order from main menu since we were early. She was extremely friendly and very nice. There was a band playing in the other room that was pretty good and not too loud. The food was delicious especially the BLT., Best we had so far. The winter salad was tasty too. Bathrooms were clean. We had a great time.
New Year’s Eve at the Dutch was so nice. Excellent burgers and drinks. Fun hang!
Cozy local spot with good food and great service. The Dutch Ale House is several steps up on pub food menus. My wife had the lamb burger, which she said was excellent. I had the harvest salad with chicken, and it was filling and delicious. The service is friendly (hey, the place is an ale house!), the beer list is very strong (ditto), and I have no complaints. We've been there before, and we'll go again.
We've been going to The Dutch Ale House weekly for 3+ years. The staff is consistently great, food awesome and drinks on point. Would absolutely recommend to anyone for a great, casual meal.
The Dutch Ale House was described to me as sophisticated bar food, and it definitely lived up that title. I went for a birthday dinner in a group of four, and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
We ordered two appetizers to share - the wings and the smoked salmon dip. The wings were rated as the best in the Hudson Valley, so we had to try them. They were indeed very good. A good quantity, too. Plenty to share amongst the four of us. For entrees, we ordered burgers and the fish and chips. The portions were huge, and the quality was spot-on. Definitely better than most bar burgers we have had. We were especially impressed with the brioche buns, which were moist, fluffy, and buttery, as they should be. The smoked salmon dip was the only dish that we felt a little "meh" about. We could have taken it or left it. The price point for everything was reasonable as well. It was more expensive than most bar food, but for the quality, we did not feel that we were overspending.
Service was great! Our server was super accommodating to our group and seemed genuinely happy to be conversing with us. It contributed to the nice small-time feel that the restaurant had. The beer selection was good, too!
Great atmosphere and great food are a good beat. Top notch place to eat!!
Charming venue, very noisy. The food was really very good, particularly the onion soup and the shrimp and grits. Excellent selection of draft beer and a decent wine list. Considering all the festivals happening that weekend, the service was good.
My only gripe is parking. We found the restaurant has a parking lot tucked away in the back reachable by a dark alley, probably only known to locals.
Fun pub style atmosphere. Dutch onion soup a must try.
Loved the food, please bring back the sweet potato fries.
We had a quick dinner before catching a movie at The Orpheum. I loved my juicy BlueBurger- with onion jam and bacon and a light, delicious brioche bun. My husband enjoyed the sausage platter with sauerkraut. I had a draft Guinness and my husband had a wheat beer. Everything was tasty but $8 for a draft and $16 for a burger is expensive. I’m originally from NYC but I’ve lived in the Hudson Valley for 28 years- I cant help but resent having to pay NYC prices.
Excellent food and service!!
The Dutch Ale house was so, so amazingly accommodating! My friends and I were doing a day-hike near by and wanted to have dinner afterwards at the Dutch Ale house. But as the day went on, I had to keep calling to change the reservation to a later time. So Thank You, for being so patient with us!
Aside from that the place is beautiful, the decor and ambiance is so inviting. The food is so delicious and the service is top notch. If ever in the area again, I will make sure to stop by.
The ambiance is dark wood with some upholstery banguets but the wood chairs could use cushions for comfort. Food is basic but good. Five of six of us had fish and chips which was a large haddock fillet. House cut fries were large and crispy. I had the sausage on a bun with homemade sauerkraut. Very tasty. The house ale was average and I would go with another choice next time. If everyone didn’t order the same meal I could be more help. They have a bunch of burgers including lamb. Would try that next. Sound was loud until a table with a bunch of kids left. If the place is busy I would expect it’s noisy since the bar is in both rooms. Desserts are from a nearby bakery. Limited selection.
Loved the layout, the food and the wine/beer list. Service was excellent. It was a little bit noisy due to the narrow nature of the building, but other than that I loved it all. Will definitely come back again. I believe our server's name was Gabe. Food and drinks were out quickly and done to perfection.
Pickle Jar app was delicious if you are a pickle lover like me. The salmon was delicious. The rainbow trout special was tasty, but there were a lot of bones in it which made it hard to eat or enjoy. Super happy to see the Downeast as draft selection!! Would definitely recommend.
we really enjoyed dinner in The Dutch Ale House.
Lamb burger was very good, we also liked our appetizer - salmon dip.
apple pie was not impressive and reminded the one I buy in supermarket.
Service was great, nice and efficient.
This place a gem in heart of the town of Saugerties. The food is wonderful and reasonably priced. The bartender was helpful in pairing wine with our dinner. Would highly recommend people try this restaurant out.
This is like stepping into a old Dutch or German Bar. The staff is very nice and helpful. The beer is nice and cold with a lot of different beers. I had the sausage and sourkruat it was all homemade and very good. Will be back.
