The Eatery @ East One
East One Coffee Roasters is an airy and modern multi-concept restaurant, roastery and coffee shop in Carroll Gardens. There is an all-day menu of seasonal comfort food made with locally sourced, quality ingredients and the specialty coffee roasting program features single origin espresso and nitro cold brew. The relaxed atmosphere makes it an easy place to work, hang out, or spend time with friends.
Good food and quick service
It smelled weird - like a dirty mop had been used on the floor
The Eatery is a great, muti-purpose neighborhood find. If you want to meet a friend for a cocktail any time of day, have a full-on brunch, or sip a coffee and work, it's a perfect option.
I've been to The Eatery many times, but it always seems like they don't have enough staff. We didn't get our coffees until the food arrived, and had to ask multiple times for missing pieces of the order. I'm not generally too picky about those types of things, but when you're paying $18 for eggs, you kind of want to get the toast you ordered to go with them.
Easy environment to have conversation
The Eatery at East One is quite good! Drinks range in price (the breakfast martini is good but a bit steep, in terms of price; wines are more reasonable) and the menu is diverse and delectable! Options range from healthy (salad greens with avocado and white beans) to decadent (stacks of pancakes with sides of rosemary french fries. It's all here if you want it, followed by whatever baked goods are still available (we had a late brunch on Sunday, 3pm) from the front of the restaurant and coffee that was roasted onsite. We have been here several times and we continue to enjoy everything we have sampled. The Eatery is a welcome addition to Carroll Gardens.
Mother’s Day brunch.
This was a wonderful place to grab brunch with some friends over the weekend. The place is very family oriented and the room has lots of energy. The food doesn't disappoint! Definitely make sure your whole party is there on time or they won't sit you.
Thank you so much for accommodating us; it was a special, quick lunch that was serviced wonderfully. Just what we were wanting. Will be back again next week!
Food was delicious! Service was great! We will definitely be back!
Such a lovely place to have breakfast. The food was simply excellent. Felt like mom's kitchen! Worth the taxi ride to try this restaurant. Would highly recommend this place.
The exposed brick wall by the booth should be covered with sheetrock because the masonry is crumbling onto the table. Not safe!
Lovely manager at reception greeted us and offered complimentary drinks for our anniversary. Mahi2 sandwich was delicious served with a brioche bun.
Very good service and food. Excellent. Very happy thanks
Nice breakfast with danish influenced decor and some danish dishes
Great local spot. Service is a little slow, but the food is delicious and the setting is lovely.
This place has great coffee, and some of the selections on the menu are excellent (such as Dutch breakfast). However, at my last visit, I was underwhelmed by flavorless avocado toast and undercooked steak. I sent back my steak, which was so rare I couldn't chew it, and then it was returned charred to a crisp.
Great place for brunch! Great for families or friends gathering together.
While the food was good, I wouldn't say it stood out much from other solid brunch spots. Instead, it was the service that left an impression on our group (of nine). Both the host and waitress were kind, patient and extremely friendly in dealing with us.
Fantastic brunch, absolutely perfect. Food was delicious, not too fussy but really great.
We arrived early for our peak time brunch reservation and had to wait 20 minutes for our table. Service was slow and our food didn’t arrive until 50 minutes past our reservation. Once it arrived, all delicious.
went here for brunch on Sunday. The eggs benedict and Brooklyn breakfast were first rate.Suggest booking with Open Table for a table at weekend.
One of my favorite spots for brunch or lunch. Food is always very fresh and tasty.
Always a delicious breakfast/brunch/lunch in a lovely, airy and comfortable space! Coffee is fantastic, and the staff always lovely! Can never leave without a few goodies from the baked goods! A neighborhood favorite!
Overall the restaurant was fine, just we were with friends visiting from out of town. We were doing Sunday brunch and they rushed us because they needed the table for people with baby strollers. We had a reservation for 6 people so I feel we should not have been asked to leave before we were ready to leave.
The ingredient combination is unusual and delicious, I took guests if different ages and taste and everyone loved it.
A great addition to the neighborhood.
I live in the neighborhood and brought my parents, who were visiting from out of town, for brunch.
I’ve been to East One before, but only for coffee/pastry take out. It’s a little pricey for me, but the food and coffee are great. The sit down restaurant food was excellent. We got avacado toast, duck hash and British fry which were all amaxing. The food took a bit long to arrive, but it was Sunday brunch so I know they were busy. It’s a fun casual environment, definitely kid friendly. Exposed brick and duct work, reclaimed wooden tables. Very much a Brooklyn vibe.
The service was spotty. We inadvently walked by the host desk in the way into the restaurant and were chased down by the hostess and scolded for not checking in properly.
Then our waitress, who seemed like she’d rather be anywhere else, basically disappeared after bringing us our coffee. We had not ordered yet. We had to ask the busser to find her. Another staff person came to our table to see what the problem was and we explained that we just needed to order. Instead of taking our order, she left and finally sent a third person who ultimately became our waitress. She was super friendly and a bit more attentive.
So - three stars for fabulous food and relaxed atmosphere. If you’re ok with slow service that isn’t always friendly, then I have no hesitation recommending!
Very good dining experience even with 9 month old.
Delicious kid’s pancake and all adult food was very good.
Great spot for a casual brunch. Everything we ordered was delicious. The service was friendly and prompt.
A quiet, inviting, and incredible brunch experience with great food, coffee, and drinks in a wonderful part of Brooklyn
The food was delicious as usual, but the kitchen was in total disarray, so we waited over an hour for our food. The service was completely bizarre, and we were charged double the amount we should've been. Will not be returning.
First time getting brunch and it was delicious! Our waitress seemed to be having a bit of a bad day cause she was kind of dismissive to us. But other staff was a pleasure to interact with. Definitely going to come back!
Excellent food! Service was quick and friendly. Will definitely return...
I am a frequent guest at “East One”, often 2x a week.
This past visit with 3 friends, was superlative.
Kudos to Sarah & Adrianna, both of whom I cannot praise enough.
They are always delightful, extremely skilled in their duties & are the major reason I visit this restaurant.
Everyone I bring agrrees that these two outstanding servers should be promoted or given a bonus, or both!!
The food must be recognized for its freshness, lovely presentation, & absolutely delicious flavors & tastes.
We went on the recommendation of a friend. Our initial experience was not good as the host refused to give us a seat till the full group was present. However, we were given a seat, and post that everything was good. The food was good and the service was cordial. Overall, it was a positive experience.
Great food and great vibes in this place. The dining room is airy and has a good size enough to house big groups. The grits and braised beef topped with fried egg special is very tasty. The malted pancakes with blueberry compote were fluffy and just perfect. The Bloody Mary was really good.
The food here is so good. Fresh and creative. I love eating here. Occasionally noisy due to people bringing young children but that's pretty much the case everywhere these days. My favorite brunch items so far, avocado toast, malted pancakes, duck confit hash, and of course eggs Benny. Even the ordinary like the Benny is a cut above most other places.
First time at The Eatery @ East One but I will definitely be coming back! The inside is very cute and trendy and the food was DELICIOUS. They were having a special on mimosas and bloody marys at brunch as well :)
Very pleasant , easy and friendly from the moment we walked in till the moment we left ...... nice food in a nice environment...... we are from the UK and stopped off the F train on the way to Coney Island .... the area round the Eatery was cool too , good relaxed vibe , a few antique shops etc .... we don’t normally spend too much time in Brooklyn but maybe it’s time we started to ! Thankyou .
