The Eatery @ East One
East One Coffee Roasters is an airy and modern multi-concept restaurant, roastery and coffee shop in Carroll Gardens. The relaxed atmosphere makes it an easy place to work, hang out, or spend time with friends.
Berry Compote, Mascarpone & Pure Maple Syrup
Toasted Sourdough, Crushed Avocado, Arugula, Radish & Poached Egg
A selection of fresh baked pastries and muffins
I regularly visit to have the amazing malted pancakes and fantastic coffee. The pancakes are large, fluffy, topped with fruit compote, and garnished with a side of maple syrup. They are all I can hope for in a breakfast, when combined with the breakfast sausage. This time I brought my friend and I think we have a new enthusiast.
This is an awesome coffee shop and restaurant. I came here once with my girlfriend and brought some friends from out of town who were very impressed. Great environment that is buzzing but not too loud or obnoxious. The food and drinks are quality and the severs are very good. I highly recommend a visit.
Had a wonderful birthday brunch here for 8 of us. We weren' t crowded like some places in Brooklyn. The food selection was perfect. Some of us had lunch, some breakfast. All were delicious. A must- try restaurant.
Great place to get a cup of coffee and breakfast for a business meeting. Love coming for breakfast here.
Everything was very nice - food well prepared, coffee great, service fine - until I got up to leave after paying the bill. The chairs at the table next to ours have legs that angle outwards at the bottom, and the tables are arranged very close together, with diners seated back to back between tables. The distance between the diners' heads creates an illusion that their chairs are also that far apart, but because the chair legs are angled outward, there is actually less room for your feet to step between them. Another member of our party nearly tripped, too, before I did, on the way to see the cookies in the front part. I would be really surprised if my fall was the first that's happened there. Not a great set up. I hope this will be resolved as we certainly enjoyed the restaurant very much and would love to return.
Great food but slow service be prepared to wait for a table and your food.
Great place for weekend brunch and for what I saw, wonderful for coffee at any time of the day. Beautiful space, plenty of natural light, good food. Will go back for sure.
We had a wonderful time entertaining family from out of town. Thank you for your hospitality. We look forward to visiting you again very soon.
Warm and Friendly
Incredible service from the moment you check-in. Terrific food and delicious bloodies! Cousins visiting from Louisiana give the Shrimp & Grits a Cajun stamp of approval!
As a coffee lover East One is a rarity that hits all marks. Their house roasted coffees are as good or better than any in New York, the dishes are exceptionally well prepared, the service is speedy and friendly, and the dining room is comfortably hip. Dont miss this place if you have the opportunity to go...and order the pancakes!
Great ambience, delicious food and good value. Coffee and oj are amazing. Wish they would hide some of their roasting coffee tubs a bit more when the eatery is open (basically, there are giant stacks of large plastic trash bins and Tupperware blocking the street view), as it is a little bit of a buzz kill to see that.
I have been to East One over 20x and it is simple one of the beat overall experiences when you want to brunch. Some items to try, Duck Hash, Butternut squash salad, and the Burger are my favorite items.. Wait and a side on pancakes. Who doesnt like pancakes?!?!? Worth a try for everyone.
TL;DR Rude front of house staff, decent food, good coffee.
So originally booked a table for five guests for weekend brunch. Adjusted the booking that morning for three people as two guests couldn’t make it. Arrived at the restaurant eight minutes after the booking time. Then had to wait for five minutes while the front of house staff dealt with other people ahead of us in line. When we finally got to the front, the host then tried to tell us we were fifteen minutes late. After correcting them, they then said they had already given our table away and we had to wait. The response was pretty unsatisfying as we were less than ten minutes late and the restaurant had made no attempt to contact us. We then had to wait a further thirty four minutes before we were seated. The host also managed to seat other similar sized parties ahead of us. The food itself is the usual decent brunch fair for a moderately upscale New York City restaurant and the coffee is decent, but not outstanding given the typical high quality available in the area.
Good food and quick service
It smelled weird - like a dirty mop had been used on the floor
The Eatery is a great, muti-purpose neighborhood find. If you want to meet a friend for a cocktail any time of day, have a full-on brunch, or sip a coffee and work, it's a perfect option.
I've been to The Eatery many times, but it always seems like they don't have enough staff. We didn't get our coffees until the food arrived, and had to ask multiple times for missing pieces of the order. I'm not generally too picky about those types of things, but when you're paying $18 for eggs, you kind of want to get the toast you ordered to go with them.
Easy environment to have conversation
The Eatery at East One is quite good! Drinks range in price (the breakfast martini is good but a bit steep, in terms of price; wines are more reasonable) and the menu is diverse and delectable! Options range from healthy (salad greens with avocado and white beans) to decadent (stacks of pancakes with sides of rosemary french fries. It's all here if you want it, followed by whatever baked goods are still available (we had a late brunch on Sunday, 3pm) from the front of the restaurant and coffee that was roasted onsite. We have been here several times and we continue to enjoy everything we have sampled. The Eatery is a welcome addition to Carroll Gardens.
Mother’s Day brunch.
This was a wonderful place to grab brunch with some friends over the weekend. The place is very family oriented and the room has lots of energy. The food doesn't disappoint! Definitely make sure your whole party is there on time or they won't sit you.
Thank you so much for accommodating us; it was a special, quick lunch that was serviced wonderfully. Just what we were wanting. Will be back again next week!
Food was delicious! Service was great! We will definitely be back!
Such a lovely place to have breakfast. The food was simply excellent. Felt like mom's kitchen! Worth the taxi ride to try this restaurant. Would highly recommend this place.
The exposed brick wall by the booth should be covered with sheetrock because the masonry is crumbling onto the table. Not safe!
Lovely manager at reception greeted us and offered complimentary drinks for our anniversary. Mahi2 sandwich was delicious served with a brioche bun.
Very good service and food. Excellent. Very happy thanks
Nice breakfast with danish influenced decor and some danish dishes
Great local spot. Service is a little slow, but the food is delicious and the setting is lovely.
This place has great coffee, and some of the selections on the menu are excellent (such as Dutch breakfast). However, at my last visit, I was underwhelmed by flavorless avocado toast and undercooked steak. I sent back my steak, which was so rare I couldn't chew it, and then it was returned charred to a crisp.
Great place for brunch! Great for families or friends gathering together.
While the food was good, I wouldn't say it stood out much from other solid brunch spots. Instead, it was the service that left an impression on our group (of nine). Both the host and waitress were kind, patient and extremely friendly in dealing with us.
Fantastic brunch, absolutely perfect. Food was delicious, not too fussy but really great.
We arrived early for our peak time brunch reservation and had to wait 20 minutes for our table. Service was slow and our food didn’t arrive until 50 minutes past our reservation. Once it arrived, all delicious.
went here for brunch on Sunday. The eggs benedict and Brooklyn breakfast were first rate.Suggest booking with Open Table for a table at weekend.
One of my favorite spots for brunch or lunch. Food is always very fresh and tasty.
Always a delicious breakfast/brunch/lunch in a lovely, airy and comfortable space! Coffee is fantastic, and the staff always lovely! Can never leave without a few goodies from the baked goods! A neighborhood favorite!
