The Elgin is a bar & restaurant serving upscale fare situated just south of Rockefeller Center & steps from Broadway & Times Square. Our goal is to provide sophisticated cocktails, a carefully curated craft & seasonal beer list, amazing food in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Please join us!
The Elgin’s 4 main principals, Peter Pernicone, Darwin Conner, Paul Baum & Christine Trauben, have known each other for 30 years. They all grew up on the lower west side of NYC in Chelsea & had a goal of owning a bar together & could not be more excited about opening The Elgin. As an acknowledgment of their collective history, they named a signature cocktail—the Chelsea 1724—after their neighborhood. Darwin & Paul grew up in Chelsea on 17th St and Peter & Christine lived on 24th St. They are joined by Patrick Callaghan who has been working with Peter for many years.

Love this place, everyone is attentive and the drinks are great!!
Excellent food and great drinks! Lovely space and great service! We love the Elgin!
We sat outside and it was noisy. Smokers stood nearby so it was very unpleasant to be smelling smoke while eating. I LOVED the Kale & Avocado Salad. I'd go again after i feel it's completely safe to eat indoors.
The cocktails were amazing. My friends enjoyed the food. The place looks nice, but we were seated all the way to the back even though the place was fairly empty - but I am assuming it was for social distancing purposes, which is understandable. Only wished that we were seated somewhere in the middle of the restaurant so that we could have enjoyed the decors. But overall it was a nice experience and I would go back.
The staff was SO friendly and accommodating. Great service, good grub and good drink selection. Definitely a find for a midtown spot.
Experience was great! I have been to Elgin a few times. Friendly staff. They always are able to accommodate my requests for special cocktails which may not be there on the menu.
Had a a great time! Their outdoor seating was comfy and covid safe :)
Birthday lunch. Food was terrific. Loved the Elgin Salad. Burger and fries excellent. Veal meatballs were delicious. Daughter loved her roast beef sandwich. Great pub atmosphere. Friendly attentive staff. Will be back!
We had a perfect Sunday meal. The food was delicious and the staff were so friendly. Thanks for making a rainy trip to NYC a great day!
Amazing service and food . They treated us with love
Friendly staff, great cocktails and food.
Perfect 🤩 , everything was very good! Strongly recommend this bar!
It was my first time eating out since indoor dining returned and I couldn’t have had a more perfect experience. The space is nice, the food is amazing and the staff was great. I highly recommend The Elgin and I look forward to eating there again soon.
Awesome bar! I strongly recommend it. The food and drinks were delicious
Seated a little close to other tables, but with dividers in between.
Such an amazing staff! They offered indoor even though we were for outside! We appreciated it so much. Celebrated a birthday and they were so on point about it. Brought out a small cake and everything!!! Amazing food and drinks! Will def be back!!
Love this place ! Good food and drink at great prices !
outdoor seating was great! not too chilly even in the dark, only
problems we had were that the staff only came outside once in a while to check on us leaving us waiting at times and the cocktail of the week was not to our taste. overall great food, friendly staff and a good time!
Fantastic experience on the first day of indoor dining in NYC -- staff was on top of all protocols. Food was flawless, staff was fantastic, would absolutely recommend and reserve again.
Good atmosphere and great foods. Very suitable for casual dinner
Really enjoyed this restaurant !! Food was excellent it was decorated so nicely for Christmas only 1/2 block from the tree so great location! Service was phenomenal so friendly and personable
Great holiday drinks!! Beautifully decorated.
Great food, ambiance, service and drinks! Highly recommend.
It was a great experience. We started off with the adult chocolate milk and the white Christmas drink. Both were good but the white Christmas drink is a little messy. The Buffalo chicken sliders were really good but the pizza was okay. Definitely worth going again one day when things open up again.
It was perfect! The staff was very caring and helpful and nice
The Elgin was decorate SO well for Christmas, and had the best music and atmosphere. My roommate and I would definitely recommend their holiday cocktails, and will be coming back for dinner soon!
Very safe, great service, delish cocktails & food
It was great!! Loved my cocktail and Andrew was phenom. Coming back tonight!!
Great food, thoughtful service and a great atmosphere.
Excellent food and great, friendly service. We ate outside so there was normal street noise. Everything was very clean, all staff were in masks and tables were spread out. Highly recommend it
We sat in Covid outdoor dining space. It was fine and well isolated with plastic barriers between tables. Tight seating but understandable. Food was served quickly and service was courteous. Food was delicious. Better than expected!
If you're looking for a place to have brunch, I would not recommend this place.
They have a small menu with very little flexibility. On a Sunday for brunch they
had to ask the chef if he would make fried eggs. It came with no potatoes. They had one kind of toast, no jelly, etc. They didn't offer refills on coffee. It was less than accommodating. It's more of a burger and drinks kind of place. They shouldn't
even advertise as a brunch place. I will not be returning!
A delightful spot for a quiet and delicious brunch
The only thing I can say about our experience at the Elgin, is that we had the worst, absolute worst waitress that I’ve ever had in my many years of dining out to all kinds of restaurants. She was completely miserable, never smiled, didn’t ask us our names, didn’t bring us our drinks, and therefore was not tipped. The gentleman filling our water and food runner was 100 times more helpful and pleasant. I’m not sure if she think her long blonde hair means she doesn’t need to do her job right, but that’s sure how it comes across. I really wish I would have gotten her name or brought it to the attention of a manager because she is definitely a thorn in your business.
Food is great
Great casual reasonably priced restaurant in Rockefeller Center.
An after work pub feel, with very animated conversations at a very high noise level! Thank goodness our server steered us to a small room where we could at least hear each other speak!
Comfort food and pub atmosphere, good drinks selection
Hosted post work drinks. They have a great private room as well.
Was Going to see a show at radio city.
Location was perfect
Food was good
A bit noisy in first seats but hostess changed our seats to a quieter spot without us even asking !!
So thoughtful !!
Waitress was wonderful : friendly , efficient , really sweet.
Would definitely come back here when in the area !
