    I was rather dissappointed we have been a few times before and it's been great, this time I had salmon with new potatoes and vegetables, the salmon was overcooked and the vegetables were hard I don't think they had even been cooked. The staff were not as friendly as they usually are, not sure if we will go back it was dissapointing.

    If we have visitors we always take them here as it is so reliable and the food always good. This week we went with two friends and it was not disappointing. We can't comment on too many dishes as three of the four people went for fish and chips, but they were all pleased. I had the wild boar sausage and it was excellent. Desserts were also really tasty, and the draft beer went down very well. 10/10.

    Well cooked and prepared food, all on heated plates which is something a number of restaurants fail to do but should do without fail. A little bit pricey, however the 20% discount on the mains helped and the food was very tasty. The wine was also very pleasant. Our thanks to the team.

    Living so close to this lovely pub this was the first time trying it. I was so impressed with the pub its decor was lovely the food was outstanding and the service was brilliant! Everything was resonably priced. Will definitely return to the Elm Tree without a doubt. Thank you! 19th October 2023

    Easy to find from home 35 min drive. Quiet location. Beautiful decor. Super host/waiter/barman. Food options are vast. Hubby went for steak and sides. The best steak he’s eaten in years! I opted for Teriyaki chicken, noodle stir fry…how did chef get that chicken so tender?? We were very very happy with everything. No complaint’s whatsoever!!! Will be returning soon for a Sunday lunch. Keep up the good work!! See you soon x

    Staff was very welcoming upon our arrival. It had a nice buzz and ambient feel. We ate just the other side of the partition from the bar and enjoyed the buzz. The meal was delicious but maybe a little expensive. However we will be returning again.

    We ordered 2 sharing garlic cheese ciabatta bites, these were very nice. Two of us had cheesy bacon burgers, 1 cheesy burger and the other had the Elm tree special pulled pork burger and there were four empty plates.  The lemon and lime cheesecake was very nice. All in all, we all recommend the Elm Tree Inn in Wisbech .

    Generally enjoyed our visit on BH Monday, as we usually do. Appreciated receiving the usual weekday discount despite it being a bank holiday. Obvs some issues behind the scenes, tho, eg chef hollering at staff, which was clearly audible to diners. The cauliflower nibbles are delicious; light, crispy batter. The tiniest amount of mushy peas served with the fish and chips ... barely a centimetre in each little pot :(

    The Elm Tree Inn was a great venue for a long overdue catch-up with good friends. All meals were well cooked and presented and our empty plates told their own story. It was also nice to meet the chef when he personally visited our table to ask us how our meal went. Highly recommended if considering a meal in this area.

    It was ok but it was expensive, the iron steak was a bit chewy, and it was very dry, I had the fish which was sea bass it was very tasty but only one fillet,

    When you read that the head chef was trained Marco Pierre white you have a great expectations and I can honestly say the food did not disappoint. Service was great and the seating area was very well set out. Can highly recommend the Sunday lunches I had 3 meats and my wife had the beef and it was all delicious with a large portion to. Cheesecake and brownie for dessert awesome. When we got the bill we felt we had great value for money

    Nice meal best sweet potato fries ever. Rump steak a bit chewy but good flavour. Could have done with some mushrooms but the starters (prawns and skewers) were good and service was great.

    Ate here with 5 family members on fathersday. Had a warm friendly welcome from a tall man wearing black (sorry don't know name) on bar as we walked in and a had a nice chat. They were understandably very busy, but we felt service was disappointing. The young girl that served us clearly didnt want to be there and even when we joked with her or tried to make her crack a smile she didn't 😏 However there was a young lad there I think called Josh and he was super friendly and polite. But young girl made us all feel uncomfortable. I know it's hard on staff when it's busy as our own son runs a busy pub in Waltham Abbey . But you need to make sure staff make guests feel welcome otherwise they will be put off coming back 😉 Food was lovely. We did feel that dessert was very overpriced. Two of our party had cheesecake which apparently doesnt come with anything . So you pay £6.95 and then they charge you another £2.25 on top for a very small scoop of ice cream 🙄
