The Fancy Fork at Farmer J
We had a wonderful dinner, tasty, fresh and high quality ingredients. Good. Real pleasure.
Blown away by the new menu !
The food was well presented, excellent flavours and very enjoyable.
The atmosphere was good with great ambience created by candles on the tables and friendly good humoured team . Value for money was excellent.
We will be back !!!
Welcoming, friendly staff. Tasty, well presented food. Room to sit and relax with no pressure to eat up and get out. The cocktails were a bonus! A great place to eat with family and friends any time of day. Quiet enough to chat and light enough to see what you are eating, another bonus!
Great as always but Friday is of course a little louder than usual. Food was excellent and the drinks were made well. Will be back!
Fantastic food, excellent cocktails (241 between 5-6pm) and amazing staff. Lots of veggie options!
The concept is good and so is the interior. Easy to order but some portions were on the small side. Sausages undercooked. I’ve got good eyesight but menu hard to read and staff struggled to tell me if a dish contained nuts. Staff attentive but a bit spaced out. Not great value for money unfortunately.
Excellent all round experience, recommend to anyone.
Lovely food, lovely service, portions are quite small but really filling
Great food and great value for money especially in the city .
Our waiter , nicknamed Magic, was fantastic ; very chatty and relaxed and made us all smile and very attentive.
Left feeling very happy and will definitely return
Cannot recommend this place more for incredible cocktails, delicious food and super friendly staff. I've been to Farmer J's a number of times now and it's never let me down. It's great for a much-needed coffee in the morning, a hearty meal at lunch and evening drinks post-work to unwind.
Very nice and mellow place to dine on a weekday evening. The ambiance is just right for winding down with a good friend to catch up on life. The food is very good, everything tasted healthy but by all means, very flavorsome. We had their Seabass main and the roasted Cauliflower (a must) but the price will set you back for approx £25-30 including a drink. Not the cheapest and the portion is very light and small; meaning that value for money is not great as I was not full after starter and mains. I will recommend to try at least once, but it will be pricey as an occasional go-to.
Arrived and taken to a table for 2 people, when I had booked and confirmed for 3 people. Was then given a booth table which was not big enough for 3 people. There were no other larger tables in the remaining booths,so ended up on communal table. Not all food came at once. Menu description did not provide enough information,so we did not get what we thought we were going to get. We did ask questions, but it is difficult to ask about every item on the menu. We felt we were not given enough attention during the meal. Water, tea and coffee we had to keep asking for,and generally it was forgotten. After all this we were then charged a service charge and for the bottomless coffee. Which were subsequently removed from the bill. One of the party summed it up nicely,it felt like we were a hindrance.
First time for brunch. I love the lunch offering here and the dinner service is pretty good too. I’d say the brunch is overpriced. I don’t like the way all items are the same price when clearly some are much more generous in portion and also more expensive ingredients. That said, everything was tasty - except for the “loaded banana bread” which was stale and tasteless. Also took off a star for the 50p surcharge per cup for decaf coffee. Have never seen that before and it’s not clearly shown in the menu.
The waiter was fantastic. He was fabulous and was the most memorable thing about the evening. The food was good and the cocktails were great.
Amazing brunch, small portions for the price of the food, but would still definitely go again. Friendly staff, beautiful decor, plenty of space so not sitting on top of the people beside you, and really tasty food and coffee.
A regular haunt for me now, the combination of service, quality and ambiance are stunning. Great location for Monument tube and the City, Farmer J is a really positive step away from the more anonymous chain restaurants in the area.
Food, cocktails and staff were fantastic. Great spot for a bottomless brunch and not too 'packed' either despite the location
always love Farmer J. the flank steak was just spot on all the time. slight down side is it's not cheap.
Great food, really nice venue! The 12.5% service charge is a little steep considering it is only brunch food but overall it is great!
I keep coming back to this place because the food and service are great! Would thoroughly recommend the ‘build your brunch’ menu... the food was incredible.
The best brunch place in London! All the food is so delicious and fresh, it tastes so good! I’ve been here a few times now, both for brunch and dinner and every time it’s been impeccable. I think it’s very reasonably priced too.
Our 1st time experiencing this healthy place so far so good!
Highly recommended for the quality and range of food! Flavours were great and so tasty. We were a mix of vegetarians and omnivores and we all really enjoyed the meal. Also the Chef sent complimentary flatbread as an appetiser which was so nice and very tasty too! I'd definitely come back again.
Service: slightly confused by being told it was a sharing menu yet two of our mains (lime prawns and chicken bowl) were main meals and super difficult to share... So that was a bit misleading. Also the waitress tried to charge us more when splitting the bill as her maths wasn't up to scratch, insisting more than once until we proved we were right on a calculator app!
Lovely food and a really good atmosphere. Slightly more expensive than some other restaurants but the food also exceeded many other brunches. Will definitely be revising to try their dinner menu.
Really fun concept, great food and friendly staff. Will go back again
The service here is pretty poor; the turkey burger was raw and took them 15 mins to bring another one, we sat waiting 15 mins for a carafe of wine that I could see sitting on the bar, every single time we needed anything that most servers usually just do (like taking away plates...!) we had to call for attention. On top of that they try to tell you that it's all "sharing plates" when all the prices are main course price and size, so don't fall for that. Poor.
Small plates for brunch is a great idea and the food was outstanding as is lunch and dinner at Farmer J. Service however was disorganised and slow, with our food taking 45 minutes to arrive.
Fancy food, big portions and friendly staff! 5 stars!
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening here. Staff were attentive and kind and joined in on our celebrations. It is a really cool space and the menu is creative yet still nice and simple. I will be coming back to try the whole cauliflower next time.
Thanks for having us!
Tasty, great value and good quality wholesome food with an Israeli kick.
Very good food; great, smiley, happy service. Explained the menu and what might be best, etc etc.
Booked at the last minute, our counter table was already taken but the waiter found us seats at the window. The food here is amazing and excellent value, with fantastic ethics of local sourcing and organic. It was really busy during our visit and service was occasionally a little hectic, I'd recommend this place any time, but recommend it hands-down during quieter times, early in the week, for lunch or early evening. By 19:30 on a Friday it was in full swing!
We waited nearly an hour for food, we had to chase. Looked like a lack of someone in charge. The house bottomless coffee was dreadful. We waited 30mins for that as they had run out! I've been in busier diners in NYC.. and they cope well & always have coffee. Food is good.. just a Shane at the disorganized chaos of slow food..! We were there for brunch. Pre booked for X5 of us squashed onto a table.
Took a bit long for food and drinks to arrive but when it did it was very good. Would recommend.
What I had was tasty but I felt the options on the menu for individual ordering were quite limited.
I first came here for takeaway lunch which did not disappoint. Food and deco are it’s strong point.
I then came back for coffee which was good too (although felt a bit pricey). And finally I booked for weekend brunch which was a total disappointment.
First I went into the restaurant to choose a specific table, to which I’m told it’s possible and it was marked in their system in front of my eyes. When I turned up we had to sit somewhere else instead. It wasn’t so much that other tables were horrible, it was the fact that something was promised and not delivered.
Second it took them ages to take our food orders.
Food didn’t take long to come and was tasty.
Finally when the bill came most items were more expensive than what’s stated in the menu. Upon querying this was corrected for. I wouldn’t be surprised that most customers wouldn’t have checked this.
So unfortunately overall I wouldn’t be inclined to come dine in again, although I would consider getting a takeaway lunch on working days.
We had a great night; authentic, fresh Mediteranian flavours with creative touch and local ingredients. Friendly team with great service and a great environment and atmosphere to just drop in for a drink and a chat, an after work celebration or stay for dinner. Will be back!
