Very good service, quick arrival of food. Good quality food and catered well to partners birthday requests. One of our favourite places to eat.
Good food generous portions and reasonably priced.
We live in Eastbourne and Dorking. We picked a restaurant roughly in the middle. It was a great choice as very professional and kind staff together with a good menu. Enjoyed meal very much and hopefully will go back in the near future. We’re very pleased to see staff wearing face masks to protect customers and colleagues. Hope to see you again.
The Sunday roast was of perfect size and of good quality. Even had dessert. The range of beers could be better. However, customer service was wonderful. All staff were very helpful and friendly. We will be back.
Fabulous Boxing Day lunch. Great value, great service and really lovely food. Very impressed and we will definitely return soon.
Lovely food. Friendly service. Perfect for us. Would highly recommend this place. It’s got easy parking and is easy to find.
Considering the staff had to do deal with a couple of Christmas parties they did a very good job. Service was good will be happy to come back in the future
Mix up over our Christmas party order.
Table decorated. No tree, no Christmas atmosphere , very little decoration. Food came swamped in gravy and potatoes difficult to cut. Could have made another fuss but wanted to get on and enjoy the evening. Shame as usually very nice food. 😔
The roast was ok. The potatoes weren’t fresh and tasted like they hd been sitting around.
The burger was ok. However the staff were really friendly and attentive.
Booked a last minute table, was quick and easy to book. The service was brilliant, very friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious. Will definitely be going back.
Despite the restaurant being very busy we received good service and great food. Overall it was clean with a nice feel to it. Prices may be slightly high but all in all we had a lovely meal.
Lovely friendly staff and delicious food.
A great visit, will definitely be back!
we had roast dinners: the beef was good though fairly small portion and the pork was a bit dry and had a lot of fat round it. the roast potatoes were only just about cooked. certainly not the best especially for the price .
the front main restaurant was super noisy - we had to move to another room which was fine. on another day it may have been perfectly ok in the main restaurant - perhaps we were unlucky to have such noisy fellow diners.
so probably don't go sunday lunchtime is you want to hold a conversation
Disappointed as food quality not as good as previous experience. Live locally and menu never changes so unlikely to want to visit too often. Pub closed at 9.30pm on Saturday night! Lack of customers so couldn’t stay open due to staff costs. Unfortunately lack of staff may be affecting food quality and therefore repeat business
Quick family lunch before attending a funeral. Service was very considerate and they made sure we were served in good time so we weren't hurried. Allowed us to leave our car in the car park which was a huge help.
Last time I was here was for a wedding and the next time will probably for a christening so a hattrick.
Fabulous food great love cation brilliant staff reasonable prices - sat outside which was lovely just couldn’t move the sunshade!!
Great garden and really good food. Service a bit slow but it was busy
We opted for Sunday roast, and glad we did. Big portions and very tasty (both the chicken and beef) Lots of kids playing but not too noisy. Guy turned up and started playing a keyboard as well which was quite good and unexpected (not loud). All the staff were very polite and welcoming. Overall a very good experience. They can expect us again 👍🏻
A really lovely Sunday lunch good value and the pianist in the garden playing was a lovely touch. Staff were lovely, at times a little too attentive ( offering if we would like anything else before evening finishing lunch ) but I would definitely go back absolutely lovely 😊
Nice pub, friendly staff and great play area for children. Let down by what was very below average food. Dry burgers, off fish and generally not up to scratch.
The staff and food were lovely but there was a large kids party at the tables next to us which was loud and active (but fun for them) and spoiled the sit down for lunch atmosphere a bit.
Family get together - great service great food thank you x
Great service, lovely sunny outside space and delicious choices of food, something for everyone
The quality of the food was excellent - locally sourced ingredients cooked with great creativity and skill.
A great size of outside space with plenty of tables plus an impressive play area for children, if that’s your thing. If it isn’t your thing, there were plenty of tables located well away from it.
The service was friendly and attentive. What more could you want?
Went for lunch with grandparents, children and a newborn in tow, it was great for everyone. Food was delicious with generous portions and the staff were so lovely and helpful. We will definitely be going again soon.
The best roast my husband & I have had , looking forward to returning
We had booked a table outside, requesting terrace seating, but when we arrived were told they were very busy and we should go outside and find a table, they would find us. 20 minutes after we sat down our drinks order was taken. When our food arrived it was overcooked and dry, we played hunt the potato in the chips, they were just an overfried shell. Chicken dry and hard.
On the plus side, our waitress was super friendly but clearly run off her feet.
Why continue to let people come through the door if you're already overbooked or have had too many walk ins as it's a sunny evening?
Great play area for the kids, but needs some shade as the slide got too hot to use.
The menu was great, had some starters and burgers for lunch followed by ice cream.
The service was great even though there was less staff.
Food was lovely, loads of choice although shame the hog roast wasn’t available. Nice big garden
Food and welcome was good, although waitress had forgotten an ordered second round of drinks.
Main problem was the seating. I find sitting on a BBQ bench extremely uncomfortable and although there were two tables with seat backs available, they did not have an umbrella and so would have been too hot to sit at. Altogether I thought the setting outside was a little tatty, tired and not enough of.
But, on the positive, food was very good. Ham, eggs and chips and a scampi and chips were eaten, both very good!
The Farmers was recommended by Neil our campsite manager and we were unsure what to expect , but when we arrived the food was excellent the bar man who served us was brilliant another couple asked a question which he found the answer too very quick, and when a chap at the next table got mouthy about COVID and masks he handled it very professionally. Altogether the meal and the dining experience was excellent, the only thing I did not like i though the big room was a bit impersonal but with COVID I can understand that things have to change.
An Excellent evening thank you very much
Excellent food. We would highly recommend the fish & chips.
The staff were brilliant , the food was brilliant too. The pub outside looks lockdown shabby , weeds growing in paving , half dead planter trough , the staff are let down as with a small investment the outside could look so much more inviting ..
sadly we won’t return anytime soon
Service was very slow, 2 had a ploughmans garnish was very tired. I had chicken burger which was dry and tough.
School reunion 27 years on. We loved it here and wasn’t rushed at all. Had a nice leisurely lunch and natter.
Food is pretty good
Was not informed of automatic optional service charge.
Great place. Staff were friendly, food was delicious, lovely garden with great play area for the kids. Will certainly be returning.
Always a delicious meal at The Farmers. Staff really friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend.
