Went for lunch with grandparents, children and a newborn in tow, it was great for everyone. Food was delicious with generous portions and the staff were so lovely and helpful. We will definitely be going again soon.
The best roast my husband & I have had , looking forward to returning
We had booked a table outside, requesting terrace seating, but when we arrived were told they were very busy and we should go outside and find a table, they would find us. 20 minutes after we sat down our drinks order was taken. When our food arrived it was overcooked and dry, we played hunt the potato in the chips, they were just an overfried shell. Chicken dry and hard.
On the plus side, our waitress was super friendly but clearly run off her feet.
Why continue to let people come through the door if you're already overbooked or have had too many walk ins as it's a sunny evening?
Great play area for the kids, but needs some shade as the slide got too hot to use.
The menu was great, had some starters and burgers for lunch followed by ice cream.
The service was great even though there was less staff.
Food was lovely, loads of choice although shame the hog roast wasn’t available. Nice big garden
Food and welcome was good, although waitress had forgotten an ordered second round of drinks.
Main problem was the seating. I find sitting on a BBQ bench extremely uncomfortable and although there were two tables with seat backs available, they did not have an umbrella and so would have been too hot to sit at. Altogether I thought the setting outside was a little tatty, tired and not enough of.
But, on the positive, food was very good. Ham, eggs and chips and a scampi and chips were eaten, both very good!
The Farmers was recommended by Neil our campsite manager and we were unsure what to expect , but when we arrived the food was excellent the bar man who served us was brilliant another couple asked a question which he found the answer too very quick, and when a chap at the next table got mouthy about COVID and masks he handled it very professionally. Altogether the meal and the dining experience was excellent, the only thing I did not like i though the big room was a bit impersonal but with COVID I can understand that things have to change.
An Excellent evening thank you very much
Excellent food. We would highly recommend the fish & chips.
The staff were brilliant , the food was brilliant too. The pub outside looks lockdown shabby , weeds growing in paving , half dead planter trough , the staff are let down as with a small investment the outside could look so much more inviting ..
sadly we won’t return anytime soon
Service was very slow, 2 had a ploughmans garnish was very tired. I had chicken burger which was dry and tough.
School reunion 27 years on. We loved it here and wasn’t rushed at all. Had a nice leisurely lunch and natter.
Was not informed of automatic optional service charge.
Great place. Staff were friendly, food was delicious, lovely garden with great play area for the kids. Will certainly be returning.
Always a delicious meal at The Farmers. Staff really friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend.
Excellent meal for Fathers Day , attentive staff …impressed
Delicious food, friendly staff, clean toilets, great playground for the kids to round around.
A fabulous lunch, the roast dinner was just glorious. Equally all the staff were so friendly. We’ll definitely be back ☺️
Good menu options including some vegan choices. The vegan burger with chips and coleslaw was delicious.
Food wasn’t as good as usual. Risotto was very stodgy but tasty.
Lovely meal and such a wonderful garden to relax in the sunshine.
Fabulous service, really friendly environment nothing was to much trouble, lovely play area for the children to play in and the food was amazing as always.
The farmer is a great spot for food, especially on a Sunday with the music. Kids love the play area too and service is usually great.
Great food and great play area for the little ones.
Great burger and chips sat out in the sunshine with good service
Not great service unfortunately took Forever and we didn’t even get to order desert it was so long a wait we had to go.
Very friendly staff, lovely food and excellent play area - perfect for families.
Had a lovely meal in beautiful gardens, very relaxed yummy food great place for kids to play.
We had a table in the garden on Sunday 6th of June 2021. Clear signs when coming in to the pub to know where to go and the staff were polite when asking us to check in using the test and trace app.
All table service and they immediately took our drinks order (sounds simple but not all places seem to do this). My daughters played in the reasonable sized play area while we ordered food. Starters came within a reasonable timeframe and staff seemed keen to ensure we had everything we wanted. The starters were very good (one rabbit rilletts and one crab tart). Mains came shortly after and my family all enjoyed it (I’d have preferred my burger medium rare but didn’t ask for it so won’t knock them for that). We ordered ice creams for pudding which, unsurprisingly, went down well on a hot afternoon.
Requested the bill which came quickly but with no pressure to leave. Cost just over £100 with service which I thought was good value for money and would recommend. Staff were well organised and pleasant to deal with which really made a difference.
Sat outside lovely comfy chairs luckily nice weather, great food, lots staff , quick service
Poor and slow service. Had to ask for drinks menu. Was given it and told that it was out of date and we would need to tell the waitress the “sort of drink” we wanted. Waitress knew no information about the drinks. Only one toilet. Then charged a service charge. Absolutely appalling. Won’t be returning!
Good and service was lovely, will go there again!
We both had the delicious lasagne in the restaurant.
We had a lovely welcome & were able to sit where we wanted (within reason as it was really busy!) but they looked after us & the dog so well! Got Isla a bowl of water & some fog biscuits!
Toilets weren’t working, staff just weren’t on it...it was a busy bank holiday weekend but they should have been on it. Great kids play area though! Food was average (sadly)
Excellent area at the rear of pub with decking and comfortable chairs and table for eating.
Normal pub food but very tasty.
3 out of 4 meals were lovely but a bit disappointed with one of them. Lovely staff, great atmosphere-fab to be back enjoying a meal out!
We enjoyed the food . Generous portions.
Chose steak pie with mash and veg. The Pie was excellent. The setting was really pleasant. We sat on the raised decking under the awning. Service outstanding during a busy time. A very enjoyable evening.
My lasagne was heated up and the topping was so hard I was unable to eat it or even cut it up
I had high expectations of this pub so I was bitterly dissatisfied
We had a nice and friendly greeting on entry. The food took 50 minutes to arrive at the table. It appeared that the whole restaurant was served at the same time. At least it was served in order of arrival. The food was a little on the expensive side but very nice. The cheesy chips could have been done with some more flavoursome cheese. If the portions were slightly smaller perhaps the price could be reduced? The only disappointing thing was that a tip was automatically included in the bill without being advised.
We went to the Farmers for lunch and booked a table for inside as the weather was going to bad.
Excellent meal and service. I enjoyed the food, we had a wrap and a ciabatta plus some sides. The price was reasonable. The only thing I would recommend to change is that the menu was not very extensive. Some more lighter choices and salads would have been nice.
This was our second visit and would definitely go again.
