The Fat Buddha
Great meal as usual & our waiter Mebs was excellent
An usual experience on Saturday, firstly we sat at the bar as our table wasn’t ready, we didn’t get served before our table was ready, we ordered drinks and then food, but our food came out in dribs and drabs with the rice arriving half way through our meal, no apology from the waiter, no main course plates either. The food was delicious.
Really enjoyed the food, was very busy but really lovely atmosphere, making the service slightly slower but not a problem. Staff were really friendly. A nice evening would return.
Great food as per usual. This is our fourth visit to this restaurant and we shall be back soon.
The food is exquisite, and well presented. Portion sizes are generous, and we could have easily had one or two less mains amongst our party without anyone feeling hungry or hard done by.
The service level went above and beyond the usual warm welcoming service you get in Indian restaurant, drinks were watched carefully and replacements offered promptly as there were enough service staff to easily cope with the full restaurant.
The light levels are on the dim side, and with the colouring to them make it hard to appreciate how beautiful the food looks before eating. Not one for Inatragram shots!
This place is a special treat, I would heartily recommend eating in rather than takeaway.
Consistent quality of food and customer service. Charming staff which adds to the pleasure of every regular visit. Sets a benchmark for many local restaurants
Lovely food , lovely staff , ambience great . Round table as we had requested . Did wait 20 minutes for our drinks & over a hour for our food albeit worth the wait would probably go back when less busy
Fabulous meal as always. Great service and lovely ambience this evening. My daughter’s favourite Indian restaurant, so we visited for her birthday this time.
Excellent meal that was incredibly tasty and full of flavour and spice.
Exceptional food & service, lovely relaxing evening
If you like Indian food and are looking for a contemporary venue to impress friends and colleagues, this is the place to take them. The décor is very stylish and the cocktail bar extremely inviting. The food was very good quality and I look forward to returning to sample more items on the menu.
Some minor criticisms: the tables were packed in; the staff appeared quite stressed because it was so busy (very few friendly smiles); and the noise level on a Friday evening was uncomfortable.
Good quality upmarket south Asian food with a few interesting things on the menu. Well worth the small price premium for the quality. Best restaurant of its type in the area
Best Indian I've ever had! 😋 Great places for a birthday celebration.
On 1st ever visit was not over impressed , and had Chicken Shaslik looked lovely but chicken was not properly cooked , was very disappointed overall shame as heard very good recommendations ☹
Touch pricey, but yoy get what you pay for. The king prawn dishes are orgasmic and the nans rich and buttery. Best Indian in Berko wsithout a doubt.
Decor was pleasantly done and the food was very tasty but the service wasn’t the best. Was left over an hour after we’d finished our meal and not asked is there anything else we would like ? No drinks no dessert menu no offer of coffee no bill!!
Even when we said about it to the waiter who we had to call for to get our bill, he apologised but that was it.
No don’t think I’d return
Lovely food. Restaurant much too dark compared to most other restaurants. Hard to read the menu
Really lovely evening food and service excellent
Food was lovely and service very good. Differently will b returning.
Food great but service terrible. Gap from finishing starters to mains was 1 hour 5 mins. Not one visit from staff to apologise or offer drinks. When manager was called he said owners value Just Eat over sit in guests.
We booked this online for my birthday meal. The decor is lovely but there were a couple of noisy groups in which made it louder than I would have liked. The menu has a lot of great options, with plenty of vegetarian choices for myself. The food was served fairly quickly and was good quality, with ample portion sizes. I had mentioned my birthday when I booked but this was not referred to during the evening which was slightly disappointing. Overall this is a nice restaurant and I would recommend giving it a try.
Lovely relaxing evening, excellent food and great service
Mebs was fabulous! He made the visit.
Excellent food. Will be back!
The food was amazing and the staff lovely they made a special effort as we were celebrating two birthdays. Would highly recommend going.
The food and service is in my view excellent
One of the better Indian restaurants . Well worth a visit
Superb meal excellent food and great service, we tried a new side dish recommended by our waiter which was very good
One of those meals out that totally hit the mark, good food, good atmosphere and the bill less than expected!
Service was very slow.....we were told the Manager was not in that evening. Those waiting for take-aways were getting very frustrated also.
very comfortable stylish bar for a pre and post dinner drink. They were very accommodating of our timing with no rush to be seated. Recommended dishes were superb as was the wine. Will definitely return.
Service was unusually slow on Saturday evening and the restaurant wasn’t full, the food was excellent though
We had such a lovely meal here on Saturday with friends from 'up North' - the food was outstanding although far too much ordered as usual. My husband's salmon tikka was especially gorgeous. The waiter was very patient and knowledgeable and we will definitely be coming back very soon.
What would have been an excellent meal ruined by appalling service. Arrived at 8.15, starter served at 8.45 mail course finally appeared at 10.15 by that stage we had both lost our appetite. Staff didnt seem the least bit interested when I complained they said the kitchen was under pressure. Real shame at the food was excellent. Dot think I would return.
Best Indian about 👌🏽
Late birthday celebration
Excellent food and great service
Great night out with the misses good food good atmosphere great service will recommend to everyone one I no who love Indian food great welcome when we arrived I will definitely be going again sometime soon actually I can't wait for my next visit my
Great food. Friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere. Thank you!
The food was really nice at the Fat Buddha but it was noisy(especially a quite loud table near us)and the service was slow. We sat for quite a while without drinks(that we had ordered)while waiting for our main course.
There was a good choice of fish and seafood dishes.
Have eaten here a couple of times and had takeaways too and the food is EXCELLENT.
Only issue is the weird timings. When we sat down at our table the waitress was obviously impatient for us to order drinks and popadoms. These all arrived really quickly but there was then a long delay before our main course arrived. This also happened last time we were there. Not a huge issue, but when you book you're asked to give your table back within a certain time, so they need to ensure your food arrives reasonably quickly so you have time to enjoy it.
Having said that, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Fat Buddha.
Hi a real mixed bag! The greeting in the bar area was pretty chaotic and the table wasn’t ready for 20 mins after our booked time. When we sat down the table was nice and the service was good. My partner had a tandoori chicken starter which was completely tasteless. We later were told by the manager the tandoor chef was away but the starter wasn’t removed from the bill. On the other hand our mains were exceptional and the garlic prawns top class. I think we would go back but it does seem a little hit and miss.
