The Ferry House Inn
The kitchen provides quality pub food, A La Carte dining in the restaurant, weddings, 4* accommodation and events.
The beef and lamb serviced are reared on the owners' own family farms, the team shoot their own game and grow their own herbs, vegetables and fruits in the pub's own kitchen gardens. Additional ingredients are foraged from hedgerows and the nearby seashore.
Fantastic food and lovely setting
Will be returning very soon.
A great place to stop for lunch. It's in a beautiful location overlooking the water, the staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was cooked fresh and was very tasty. Will definitely return.
This place was lovely very warm and welcoming! Made note that I was a perspective bride and took us on a private tour after our meal lovely venue really one we are considering!
We went to The Ferry House Inn to celebrate my mum's 65th birthday. The food was great from starter to the dessert. The staff was very attentive. Would highly recommend this place. What I really liked as well was the fact that all their products are from local farmers or made from scratch by themselves.
Love everything about this place, never had a bad time here. Food delicious and ample, staff friendly but not overbearing.
I booked to go in the bar to eat and was put in the restaurant we were the only couple in there all the time. The seats were very very uncomfortable.
The food was excellent except there was no pork scratching with the pork (there was last time) . The price was put up by £3 and we were given 19% off supposedly, not .
All in all they have lost a valid customer.
The service was all together appalling!
Absolutely beautiful food and ambiance. It’s even better to know a lot of the ingredients are homegrown. We are very grateful that The Ferry House is a local restaurant for us! What a gem.
Food choice was a bit limited. Main meal was too big amount on plate. I struggle to eat it but due to price hated that I had leave some.
Shocked that we had to pay to have still water on table. I personally found it quite chilly in restaurant. Also fact that service charge was added to total of bill I found really annoying. I do normally leave a tip but it's my choice how much. Afraid I won't be recommending it to anyone
Didnt order a starter. Probably would have done if there was a seafood or fish option. The quality of the steak was the best I've had and for the price... well unbeatable value. The dessert was exquisite. The piece of honeycomb stuck in the homemade honeycomb ice cream was a great touch. I would have given this 5 stars but they just need a slight more attention to detail like offering steak knives for the steak and a bowl for the mussel shells and plates for the bread and dipping oil. Het these little things right abd it would be 5 stars all the way
Characterful setting, comfortable venue, appealling ambience, and cooking of a very high standard. The choice wasn’t extensive but nonetheless every course found favour with my party of seven quite picky people. We had a very enjoyable meal of three courses with wine for about £38 per person including service.
Beautiful setting, lovely meal and friendly staff . Long dive out but definitely worth it. Even though I live on the island I would love a night here .
We were a little put off by the surrounding area and then the very long country lane leading up to the Ferry House, but it had been recommended to us so we continued up the track. Once there it was stunning. Beautiful surroundings, amazing decor with lots of different seating areas and the food was sublime. We expect to see the chef on Masterchef Professionals or similar sometime soon.
We had a lovely meal , in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely come back.
Absolutely lovely pub, always delivers on good and service. Perfect location for a chilled out Sunday dinner and drink in the sun! :)
Beautiful location, friendly and attentive service and delicious food!
Lovely country walk with our dog before a tasty sunday roast - beautiful day so sat outside in the sunshine - great views and location.
Got married here 6 years ago and have beeen every year for our anniversary. Food and staff are fantastic and its amazing to see how much, each year they have improved on what i thought was alrwady perfection. Will be back in sept 2020
We had a lovely, relaxing stay at The Ferry House Inn. A beautiful, peaceful location, comfortable room and friendly and helpful service. There is a very welcoming ambiance and the food is delicious. Lots of locally sourced ingredients and produce from their own kitchen garden. It's a real gem of a place and we are delighted that we found it by chance online.
Food was amazing!!! Best fillet steak ive ever had. The table was in a great location for the views. Our waitress (lady with dark bobbed hair) was lovely and very attentive!
Only negative was that whom i presume was the bar manager sat on the table next to us, speaking loudly on the phone and he had various other team members join him for a chat about other staff members! Perhaps an office may be best for this kind of thing?
Overall i had a lovely birthday lunch.
lovely venue, staff attentive but not intrusive, nothing any problem for them, knowledgable bar man able to give recommendations on local drinks. Food is excellent and fresh, nice sized portions, was able to visit the kitchen garden which I loved as I am a bit of a gardener.
Lovely location on the undeveloped east of the isle, historic building, but a bit of a Chef and Brewer vibe inside. Interior smelt of stale fish fry.
Appreciate the locally sourced food, unfortunately the venue seems to be more about weddings and is in danger of being overwhelmed by its development as a hotel.
Good for a walk if you are on the island.
Took some friends for Sunday lunch over the August Bank Holiday weekend - it was fabulous. Service was good. Only one criticism with the dessert - meringue was clearly shop bought and tasteless.
Always good food, well worth the visit. Good selection of wines and beers, local craft ales etc.
Very disappointed. Had the table booked for some time but the menu really let the evening down.
Menu over time seems to have shrunk, having visited many times over the years. Very little to choose from and the Special Board consisted of three types of steak only.
The setting of the restaurant is lovely, even more so if you get a good sunny afternoon/evening to sit out.
Unfortunately I will not be returning and neither will our friends.
The food, venue, staff and ambience are great in this beautiful pub by the Swale. Thoroughly recommend to anyone who wants to have a nice meal out. The route too the pub is stunning so remember to take your camera!!
Wish there was more choices but overall a lovely setting with great ambiance.
Beautiful food Could not fault it . Great Service and wonderful ale to wash it down .
Really enjoyed our visit, booked late online and table to ready with my name on (nice touch) when we arrived. The service was pleasant and the food was amazing. Will come back.
Fantastic - everything was just fantastic from the staff to the food set in an unbelievably relaxing location- Kent’s hidden little gem
The ferryhouse Inn is uniquely located at the end of the country lane, looking down the water across the beautiful garden. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The locally sourced food is delicious.
When we dinned in July we had a bar table in the room behind the bar. It was quieter and cozier (while a big wedding reception taking place at the restaurant). The tiny problem we had was that our table by the entrance by the mirror seemed to have attacted quite a few flies. But it would not stop us visiting this place again. Highly recommended!
Great food locally sourced, great location for our date night for our anniversary. Can thoroughly recommend the vegan option which was risotto. Lovely free taster of the freshly cooked bread and oil and the ice cream was to die for. Served by a very friendly waitress and all topped off with a porn star martini and breathtaking views across the Swale.
Lovely food and a lovely place. Getting married there next year and it’s made me so excited for the big day!
We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch off the beaten track! Service was very good, all the staff were very friendly - even accommodated us turning up an hour early for our booking! Food was delicious and portions were just the right size. I can highly recommend the baked chocolate mousse!
Food was great, but we waited a long time for our drinks to arrive, and no atmosphere , could do with some background music
We drove here during a trip down to the Isle of Sheppey and based on the great reviews. I found the menu pretty uninspiring and ended up ordering a burger. Was expecting an amazing burger but it was pretty average. Not awful but I suppose I was hoping for something a bit more than just usual pub grub. Sadly the weather was a bit rubbish but the outside areas looked nice and the location was really pretty. Worth going for that at least.
Lovely meal, freshly cooked and from local ingredients. Staff were very friendly and a credit to the Ferry House.
The pub was very busy as there was also a wedding, but we were seated quickly in an area away from the wedding party. The service was excellent and the food was faultless, will definitely be visiting again.
Dont know what happened on Wednesday 22nd May 2019.
Waited 1 hour for food and when it arrived the cod was not cooked in the middle had to send it back.
Drink service was extremely slow as well.
I have been eating at the Harty ferry regularly lately food and service are generally good but nit on this occasion.
Amazing food and venue, lovely staff, wait times a little bit long
Lovely location in a remote area, but well worth the trip, Friendly staff peaceful location. Great spot for a wedding function.
