Second time there... fish wasn’t great this time...
All staff went out of their way to wish my lovely wife a happy birthday which was the reason for dining there. The dinner of mussels and the Patagonian Tooth fish was definitely one of the best sea food dinners I have ever tried. The staff were happy for us to share our meal by providing seperate plates for each of us and serving our meal sequentially. Nice touch. Staff were very attentive to see that our water glasses were never empty.
All in all an excellent dining experience.
One of the best places I have ever been to for fish dishes. If you love fish then you must try this place. Service was great and the food was reasonably priced for fish dishes. Not cheap but not expensive as well given we had so much fish.
Great food as always. Pleasant and attentive service with a delightful sense of humor. Expensive but we have never been disappointed.
We requested a window seat and as it was a Thursday night thought wouldn’t be an issue.
On arrival seated in the middle when three window tables free.
Watched other guest arrive including a couple of lads. And they originally sat in the middle and then asked for window and were given window.
Food was good but not great, the service was what let them down.
I cannot imagine ever being disappointed in this place. It has fast become my favourite restaurant having dined there twice in a month. The staff are lovely and experienced and the food - don't even know where to start than to say YUM! Would highly recommend.

All was excellent, food, service etc. Andre our waiter was marvellous. Our Tasmanian wine (Sav Blanc) was divine.
However, our seating was not the best, squished into a dark corner near main door which surprised me as I had booked well in advance for my husband's 70th.
the food was exceptional. Fresh balanced flavours that showcase the best quality seafood. The mussels, bugs and scallops were fantastic. The show stopper Patagonian tooth fish! Nailed it!

We had the Chef’s tasting menu. Each dish was delicious. We had a really lovely evening. The table next to the open windows was just perfect.
We enjoyed a delightful romantic anniversary dinner, the food was spectacular and the ambience just perfect we will certainly go again and take a bunch of friends.

We went on a Monday evening so the place was extremely quiet. We wouldn’t ordinarily mind except it meant we were rushed to order our mains at only 8:15pm!!
Never a fab of the surrounding clean up, so the evening was cut short.
We had a few different staff serving us. Female waitress was ok but annoyed with us. Male waiter was terrific! We would return but maybe on a different day.

The fish dishes were as good as I've tested and the waiters most knowledgeable and helpful.
The process of booking, being warned of cancellation if not on time and allocated strict dining times doesn't do such venue justice. There are better ways to welcome customers.
Simply exemplary service by our waiter - second to none.
I had the whole rainbow trout and didn't like it at all with the tahini and salad on top. Those flavours really clashed with the fish and overpowered it. I had to carefully scrape the toppings off so that I could try to enjoy the fish. Next time, I will definitely ask that anything that is supposed to be served on top of the fish, be kept on the side.
The calamari was delish, my partner enjoyed his whitting, but unfortunately my rainbow trout was borderline inedible which is disappointing when its a $48 meal. The roast potatoes and the green veg were amazing!
We will come again but will order something different next time.
Excellent night at the fish house. Adam contacted us to offer us an earlier seating with a window table which was perfect. He made a special effort to introduce himself on the night and the service from everyone was impeccable, we felt very well looked after. The food was absolutely stunning, tasted fabulous and looked great. We will definitely be returning.
I have not been disappointed since the change of ownership of FH. Being a local and a regular around our local restaurants its always a very favourable dining experience at FH. We had a delightful dinner mid week (Wednesday) and it was excellent. Again. Well done.
Fantastic food, try the Chefs recommended set menu.
This restaurant has a lovely atmosphere though some dishes were prepared without care and as such were overpriced. The bread served was cold and chewy, a strange way to deliver bread to the table at a fine dining restaurant- cold slices delivered to different tables ather than freshly baked and warm. A very expensive meal all up, and although attentive service, didn’t live up to expectations or cost.

Outstanding in every way. The Patagonian toothfish was to die for! We will definitely be back when we’re in Burleigh next time
Lovely lunch with the waiter's knowledge of the menu and a great combination of cooking styles and dishes. His recommendations were excellent and we were given an excellent table with relaxing views. Overall, an excellent lunch choice for great seafood.
We shared the John Dory and it was superb. Wonderful relaxed atmosphere and great service. Always wanting to go back.

Would love to try this place again when there wasn’t a few large tables for a 40th... was extremely loud and the floor staff seemed a little overwhelmed.., The food was amazing though..

Food was fabulous, our waiter was a bit odd and not up to standard. The overal price was on the high side for the area and felt out of balance with the experience.

Superb Restaurant. Staff were ever attentive and the food outstanding particularly the Patagonian Toothfish which melts in your mouth. I liked the French undertones in decor and found the seating comfortable and ambience enjoyable. The menu is definitely suited to people with a discerning taste for quality seafood. If you're a steak and 3 vege kind of person, then you may want to reconsider this restaurant. I'd recommend getting there 20-30 minutes earlier than your booking as parking nearby is challenging to say the least. I could say more but I leave that for others. Thanks to everyone at The Fish Houses.
The Service at the Fish House was amazing! The food was great but thought there could have been more of it. Very small portions.
Great ambience - classy sophistication without being uptight. Our waiter was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Every dish was cooked perfectly which can be tricky to achieve with seafood. Overcooking seafood is one of the most common and heinous crimes as far as I am concerned. The serving portions were a respectable size. My only uncertainty about the meal was the marinade used on the Patagonian toothfish. For a delicate fish, I felt that the marinade overpowered rather than complimented the quite subtle flavour of the fish.
awesome view of the water from any table at the restaurant; seafood is great, the pasta was a bit salty, no good for blood pressure. Service was superb, the waiter knew his wines!! good indicator that the staff has good training
