Had an awesome experience for my partners birthday! All the staff were really friendly and the food, wine & cocktails were all amazing!
Creative Seafood, however it still looks and tastes like fresh seafood. Wonderful selection of every fish you can think of. Daily specials are worth having. Oysters are the best ever tasted. Staff are very accommodating in both the food and the wine selections. Great Wine list. Try the baby deep fried crispy snapper, claire de lune oysters, king whiting. But start with a Gin Cocktail of which there are many to choose from.
Our second visit to the Fish house and they staff did not disappoint us. I'm 37 weeks pregnant and they were very helpful with suggesting what meals are best done 'well done' and a beautiful mocktail. My husband really enjoyed his Rose also.
Hope to be back with baby in tow !!
The restaurant and staff are lovely. As a group we were disappointed as we ordered the large cod and by the time it was de-boned at the table, it was cold. We also thought that the side dish portions were small and whilst you can order more, it would be nice to have enough to enjoy with your main dish, rather than wait for more to arrive. One of our party was a vegetarian and they did accomodate him. Very mixed - I think it's probably ideal for a dinner for two.
Amazing food. Great service. Nice dining experience
Amazing dining experience. The food and service were second to none.
First visit but most definitely not the last. Food was amazing!
Service first class too.
The food was great, they had professional service and the view of the burleigh beach front and surfers skyline was great
Attentive and friendly staff who know what service is about
We visited the Fishouse a few years ago and I had the best dining experience and have raved about it ever since. Then I had the Coral Trout - my favourite fish straight from the tank. Perfectly cooked. This time I was looking forward to repeating this experience. The fresh tank is no longer there and no coral trout on the menu. I know it is difficult to source this fish but still?. Must say the presentation of the meals and service couldnt be faulted. Would I go back. Probably not. When a restaurant doesnt live up to your expectations its a bit disappointing.
The staff were very attentive and friendly and the food was amazing. Definitely a fantastic date night.
What an amazing restaurant, the food was fresh and delicious! An extensive wine list and very knowledgable staff.
just amazing, from the time we walked in to the time we walked out, the staff went above and beyond in service, the food...words do not do justice to the taste, flavours and presentation and the ambiance was gorgeous. We had lunch for 5 on a Sunday afternoon and will return.
Our first time at the Fish House under the new owners and it didn’t disappoint. The food was delicious and matched well with the wine we picked out with help from the sommelier. The service was generally very good only let down a fraction by a slight delay in bringing bread and taking our drinks order. Overall though another great night at Fish a House.
Food was ok and service could be improved. I won’t visit this place again.
The night was great except for the one other table (about 8-10 pax) in the corner - incredibly loud, uncouth, quite drunk, no awareness of impact on other diners - basically walked around, up to bar, back to table, fits of screams/laughter - I’m a loud bloke but they were ridiculous and there’s a time and a place - even the maître de sheepishly asked them to keep it down (someone must have complained). Normally wouldn’t say anything but At $380 for two people I think I can be picky.
The restaurant opens at 5.30, we got there at 6 and these people were already well on there way? Been there from lunch? Were they the owners? At the end of the day It put a cloud over an otherwise wonderful dining experience.
Obviously mostly seafood and fish. Tasty fresh and healthy
Very nice restaurant lovely atmosphere
You great free sides with all the main meals
Food and service always exceptional. The view is amazing. Beautiful place
We found the food OK at best - but, the heirloom tomatoes were first class.
Service was slow and inattentive. Prices much too high for the food delivered.
We would not recommend this restaurant, and will not go again ourselves.
Essentially a high end expensive dining with really fresh seafood cooked to perfection very simply. Grilled calamari was melt in mouth tender. The Morton bay bug flesh in tagliatelle was translucent and just cooked perfectly. The downfall was the rather too simply grilled butterflies while Murray cod. Tastes muddy and need more flavour Or sauce to enhance it. Spent $258 for 2 and there wasn’t even a complimentary little anything in between. It was excellent cooking but tad overpriced . Oh the oyster was so fresh and juicy.
My husband and i had a lovely lunch. The chef swapped the first course of the degustation oysters for the king fish on our request which we thought was great service. Not many kitchens these days will make changes so thank you. The only thing i would say is that the table we were on is just to close to the doorway and bar. We felt as if we were in the way. Other than that we had a wonderful lunch.
As a special occasion we chose the Fish House and it certainly did not disappoint. Informative friendly staff well educated on both the menu and wine lists. The fresh and Australian sourced food was superb and well presented. Next special occasion - we will be back!!
Three of us dined here on a Tuesday night and we all thoroughly enjoyed all our courses , service was also very good..
Overall it's a bit on the pricey side but you do get what you pay for..
AMAZING, my new favorite restaurant on the GC. Clean, fresh and delicious food - the pan seared scallops A++ and backed Coral Trout with Tahini and herbs the standouts. Great service as well :-)
Beautiful fresh fish cooked simply and deliously with unique flavouring. Great service and a lovely ambiance in this small Restaurant.
We were welcomed & made to feel comfortable the whole time at The Fish House. Dishes were explained to us & our questions answered. Staff warm & friendly & certainly knew every detail of the hospitality industry.
Visiting from interstate but we will always remember our delicious lunch there - sensational views also.
Thank you Maria & Les
It was our anniversary and finding a lovely restaurant on a Monday night can be a challenge so the Fish House being open was a bonus. Wonderful, knowledgable service from all the staff, attentiveness, but not intrusive at any point. The food was delicious and made us want to go back to try out more of the menu.
Have the chef's menu! You won't regret it.
Although my friend’s trout dish looked beautiful, unfortunately my fish was not really satisfying for my liking. I had a swordfish dish and it was a little too raw which I didn’t enjoy and I wish the skin was crispy. I don’t think the sauce was really great much to the fish ether. All side dishes especially broccoli and pees were quite generous and good.
The wait staff tried to sell things we didn’t need a little too hard. We just wanted a simple quick but great lunch.
EVERY meal was perfectly seasoned and tasty. You will not be disappointed.
Always enjoy coming here. Conplete and tasty meals with a good selection of wines
Had a lovely lunch for our 11th Anniversary. Beautiful dishes, Snapper and Kingfish both delicious!
Some of our oysters were seriously off, which started the dinner off badly, followed by an under cooked steamed fish which certainly didn't appear to be that fresh. Most disappointing, even though management didn't charge for either.
The meal was beautifully cooked and the service was attentive without being annoying. Window table was appreciated but tables are a little cramped and tend to be close to other diners.
Great food, professional service, highly recommend for lunch, dinner or any special occasion.
What price do you pay for perfection? The view from our table looked directly up along Burleigh beach to the Surfers skyline in the distance. We felt like we were floating above the ocean. The degustation for 2 was the most unusual and tantalising layering of seafood flavours culminating in a caramelised Patagonian toothfish that was sublime. Truly original and creative cuisine overseen by a gastronomic artist. The waiter was very friendly and helpful where required - and not a poser - The Fish House doesn't need to pose - they are the real deal. Go there again? You betcha!
The Fish House is a regular treat for us when visiting from NZ which we do once or twice a year. Our favourite course has always been the Simple Lemony Fish Soup which has, in the past been exceptional. This year the soup was too salty and lacked the complexity of flavour that we had experienced in previous years. This was a disappointment in what was otherwise another outstanding dinner. The mains were cooked to perfection and the wine complemented the meal totally. Are we going again? Of course we are - next week! The Fish House remains one of the highlights of our trip to Burleigh Heads.
I was looking forward to a meal at Fish House but I must say it was disappointing. The entree was our best course, my scallops and my wife had calamari. The most interesting part there was the sauce tartare with the calamari and the topping for my scallops. Perhaps our Mains choice was poor but the two courses we had were quite uninspiring for the price we paid. Crab risotto had one small segment of crab leg, and perhaps some unnoticed other muscle. My wife had pasta with bug tail. Desserts were ok, but not inspiring either. Chocolate fondant and for me a deconstructed crumble of poached pear and rhubarb. The ice cream I had asked for to replace the cream failed to arrive. Nothing out of the ordinary. Like so many other places, cheese I would otherwise have seemed overpriced for what was offered
The choice of wines and beers was good
Outstanding food, great service and advice from Sommelier as well as waiter
Awesome restaurant with outstanding friendly staff!
