The Five Bells
Excellent evening, wonderful service from a very pleasant gentleman
Will book again
The food was ok, a bit mean on the meat portion for the price, especially the beef. Vegetables were al dente, service reasonable. Ok for a family get together but nothing to write home about.
Lovely meal at The Five Bells, served in a very timely manner. Whitebait was lovely then the Cod loon was excellent, best I've had at this restaurant.
A bad day for the Five Bells! Very long wait for food with no real updates from staff. When food eventually arrived it was very good although my colleague had to return his as wasn't fully cooked!
The restaurant was busy although not full by any means so I think the kitchen must have been short of staff.
Food was overcooked
Nice atmosphere and our table was in a little tucked away area so very nice
Waiter Ruben was very nice and friendly
Food was very good
Good value for money
Will come back soon
AWFUL!!! A table of 12 next to us left and refused all food as we arrived. Once we sat down and ordered drinks, these never arrived and we had to go up to the bar to remind them. We then ordered the food and our starters arrived late as the "chief kept burning them" the waitress said to us as she placed our food down. The waitress then returned 15mins later to say the chief wasnt happy with the Wagyu burger and if we wanted to order something else off the menu. We then was informed by the waitress that they infact ran out of stock of the Wagyu burger. We was shocked at how bad the service was and can see why people around us where leaving before there food had arrived. NEVER AGAIN!
We were told that the Five Bells do NOT accept bookings from Open Table BUT they could squeeze us in to the virtually empty Resturant providing we ordered at the bar !!
This was a Birthday meal - been there many times before. Sadly on this evening my main course arrived and was only warm - so it was sent back to the kitchen. My friends steak was really tough and the rest of the food not very hot. In fairness they took mine back to the kitchen to rewarm the food and it came back fine again my meat was very tough. And we did not pay for my friends meal as she did not eat any of it. The server did his best to rectify the situation - but for me it spoilt my celebration evening. We won't be going there for a while to see if it improves. We heard other tables complaining about the food not being too hot.
I recently met up with some old work colleagues and we had a lovely evening meal at the Five Bells. The food was lovely and great value for money. The staff were really friendly and welcoming - particularly our waitress who was very patient at the end of the evening when we all paid separately and it took a bit of time to work out! Will definitely be back.
This was not fast food, it took 45minutes for a main course to arrive at our table, the next table to our's were also complaining about the time taken and when thier's arrived it was wrong. This is the second time we have visited this place, both times where the same, so we will not be returning.
Good (and good value) Sunday lunch. Pleasant service, comfortable, decent ales, large car park. Traditional pub atmosphere.
Good food. Pleasant ambience. Staff were very helpful. Table was a bit cramped for 4 of us. We enjoyed our outing with friends
Nice relaxing lunch with friends not rushed at all. We just had starters, waitress was very helpful suggesting we order extra bread for the pate, 2 slices are never enough.
Slow service. Lots of menu not available. How can you run out of chicken! Food took forever to arrive. Table was not cleared properly. Had to put empty glasses on table next to us. Had to physically get up to get service. Toilets were not clean and no loo paper. Not acceptable! What's happened Five Bells? This is not normal for you
