The Five Fields always offers a great tasting menu, including superb vegetables. The staff accommodated our requests to make a substitution or two so that we could have a pescatarian meal during Lent. Every dish was beautiful and delicious. The service is impeccable while remaining friendly instead of becoming too formal or overwhelming. The Five Fields has one Michelin star, but it compares favorably with some of London's two-star restaurants.
We need six stars to rate Five Fields-the attention to detail, the finest quality welcome, service and attentiveness and the stunning food make this a must go to place in London. My guest loved the intimate dining ,design of the restaurant and the plates etc (she is a top designer!) and was glowing about the food as a pescatarian and the trouble taken to explain and modify menus.
No finer place in london in my humble opinion.
Extraordinary food, great service, intimate setting
The presentation was superbe but most of the dishes were salty.
Very good food, but not so outstanding as in the comments written.
The food and service was outstanding. As the evening progressed the noise level from some of the other diners got a bit loud on occasion. All in all I would definitely go back
Fantastic service and high quality food. Michelin standards without the extra Michelin premium. We enjoyed the tasting menu on Saturday, 8 courses for 95 pounds but actually with additional amuse bouche it works around at 9 courses or more. The bread was also delicious, I had to stop myself though from eating too many carbs but not before I had 3 portions of bread!
The service is superb, the only comment I would make is that at some point it got a little noisy when the room was full and everyone was talking at the same time. It would be good if you could confirm bookings online as you can do with other opentable bookings rather than by phone call.
In the modern world with fewer alcohol drinkers it would be good to have more non-alcloholic drink options.
Overall a wonderful dinner and service. We will be back again.
Good solid cooking but portions on the tasting menu are on the small side and lacking a wow factor.
Tasting menu was exceptionally good and it was adjusted to one diner who doesn’t eat meat. Perfect wine pairings. Five star service. Most expencive dinner so far, but worth it
This was our third time at the Five Fields over two years. On previous occasions it was outstanding so I was worried that it might not be as good, but I shouldn't have. I remembered a lot of the hall staff, which suggests that it is a nice place to work for. This time we decided to be adventurous and go with the tasting menu, one vegetarian and one non-vegetarian, and both were excellent. Lots of supposedly "boring" winter vegetables (roots and brassicas) were transformed into delicious and surprising dishes, which was really interesting. Conclusion, it's not that broccolis are not good, it's just that I don't know how to make them into a tasty crumb! The vegetarian highlights were the "winter" dish (jerusalem artichoke, oka and crosnes) and the seaweed ravioli. How do you make wakame taste so nice? The carnivore highlight I am told were the crab and the slow cooked meat (for 72 hours if I remember well). We both loved the carrot amuse-bouche and the appled and kefir lime dessert, the second dessert (chocolate and miso) was a bit too rich for me at the end of such a long dinner. The spelt risotto would have been perfect if the seasoning had been on par as the rest of the meal (it was a bit salty), and the male sommelier was not as good at describing wines as the lady who attended us on a previous occasion. But these are really details, we had a wonderful evening. I would return anytime for the bread alone.
My favourite restaurant in London. Just beyond exceptional in every way
Excellent experience. Fantastic staff and glorious food. 5* overall!
second time to the restaurant, food and service are both very good!! definitely up to a michelin star restaurant standard.
Stays on top of our favorite as always. Never let us down. The dishes are just more than fantastic with very structured taste !
Five Fields is still (we were here about 5 1/2 years ago) a superb restaurant. The chef is very creative and talented, the service is beyond reproach, and the staff is professional, friendly, and very helpful. It's certainly not cheap, but it's worth every penny.
Second time we’ve been - and it was just as fantastic. Great ambience, exceptional food and impeccable service.
Our first visit but certainly not the last. The food was truly outstanding served by an excellent team. 10 out of 10 from start to finish. We can highly recommend a visit!
Lovely dinner！nice service and the tasting menu overall is great. One thing I think need to improve is the cabbage with chicken, it’s too salty
We wanted to visit this restaurant for ages, and so pleased we did. Will try to make it as regular as we can. Faultless really, without being stuffy
The food was absolutely delicious, and presentation was beautiful. For us, the staff were the icing on the cake - their friendly, natural style put us at ease and made the whole experience absolutely brilliant.
Fantastic place for a special occasion. I'm not a generally a tasting menu person, but theirs was truly a temptation and did not disappoint! Can't wait for another occasion to go back.
