The Five Fields Ratings and Reviews
There was nothing about this place that didn't meet my full expectations. I went with my wife and had the tasting menu but chose our own wine (as we're not too keen on Chardonnay or dessert wines). The food was superb, the service impeccable. Small but lovely dining rooms, with couples sitting alongside rather than facing each other.
Can’t fault this place at all. Everything you’d want from a fine dining experience. Lovely staff who worked extremely hard all evening, but somehow made the very high level of service appear effortless in unobtrusive. Great pairings with wine and all the food was exquisite. Wouldn’t hesitate to return.
This is now our favourite restaurant in London. All of the elements that go to make up the perfect dining experience are to be found at Five Fields; the food is both innovative and beautifully presented, the staff are friendly and efficient without being overly effusive. The ambience is intimate and you can hear one another without hearing the conversations on other tables. Wine prices are on the steep side. The food is good value for money considering the quality.
Very special place!Intimate,elegant,distinguished!
The perfect adress to celebrate a special anniversary, birthday or memorable event!
Phantastic neighbourhood and really amazing food!!One of the best adresses in London!
We loved it!
Outstanding food, impeccable service, lovely room. It's expensive, but worth every penny and calorie! Food was inventive and beautifully presented. Every mouthful was savoured. Would go back in a heartbeat. The only downside is that it's a very small room and it's very difficult to get a reservation!
Although we knew that the restaurant had a great reputation, we weren't prepared for the sheer diversity of flavours - the menu under-describes the choices, which, when set before you, provide an array of ingredients, tastes and combinations. The wine list was extensive (don't overlook the Hungarian red!) and honestly this is one of the top ten restaurants I've ever been to.
Really lovely place with great foods and service. The tasting menu is a fabulous experience for British cuisine. The service is also very impressive as we have a really late night dinner. I would like to keep the daily menu but pitifully forgot it.
Possibly one of the best meals of the year so far. Really very impressive and imaginative flavour combinations which mostly worked amazingly well (though my wife was unsure about the wild strawberries and John Dory). The presentation defies description. Every plate cried out to be Instagrammed (though we resisted). A small restaurant, it was a little lacking in atmosphere, perhaps inevitably there being a sort of hushed awe of the food. Not cheap, and the wine list is ambitiously priced, but a truly special experience.
The restaurant was exemplary in many ways but by far the aspect that set this restaurant apart from others was the service - not only did they interact in a friendly manner but they tended to put every need without being suffocating. The food of course was stunning and he general ambiance was perfect. Cannot fault this place at all.
One of the best meals I have ever eaten. I read the reviews quite thoroughly and I can say that this place does not disappoint. Excellent service, attentive but discreet and relaxed. We had the testing menu and boy was it worth it. Some pre-starter canapes fresh from the garden followed by 8/9 dishes, all of which were impressive. Extensive wine list also. It's certainly not cheap, but if you want a top class experience in a nice, smallish environment, with good service and exquisite food, this is your place.
