Lovely food. Lovely staff. Only the chilly British weather kept us from enjoying the evening for longer
Lovely use of old horse trailers for a cosy place to eat. Staff were lovely and v efficient.
Totally rubbish. We were ignored throughout our lunch, had to chase for drinks, the bill and in addition had to chase for someone to take our desert order, even then she didn’t return and we had to ask another member of staff. Most of the staff were just going through the motions and clearly not interested in their work. Food was poor. My chicken pie was so dry, literally dry chicken in pastry. My friend and her husband had ordered the same, fish and chips, one was gluten free. It arrived but they had no idea which was the GF one! My husband and I had to start our food as it would get cold. 10 minutes later the fish and chips arrived. Desert I was reluctant to order as my main was so rubbish but I was still hungry. I ordered the pavlova, basically 3 dollops of ice cream with a few meringue crumbs. If we hadn’t been with friends I would have asked to speak to the manager and most certainly not paid for our food. Will not be returning.
One day early Father’s Day treat. Great experience!
Slightly shambolic service. Had to ask for someone to come and take our order, twenty minutes after being shown to our table. Starter wasn’t what we ordered, but didn’t feel like a further wait, so stuck with it. Main courses didn’t arrive together, the pizza landing five to ten minutes before the rest. Food was good, especially the steak pie. But these basic failings detracted from the meal significantly. Could do better.
The food was absolutely delicious, we both had the award winning Steak and Ale pie and were delighted with the taste and quality. The food was hot, quickly delivered and the staff were very friendly and professional.
Highly recommend. Lovely character and superb food. Fab garden with different seating areas.
Lovely old pub with quality food and ales. Lots of asparagus items at the moment!
We arrived in good time and shown our table directly. My first visit to the Fleece this summer and so happy with how well they have adapted with current restrictions. The garden is aesthetically pleasing and a very welcoming place to dine. All staff wore masks and Covid aware. All staff friendly, courteous and efficient. Drinks ordered and served promptly and followed by our meal. Good choice of fine beers. Menu has good choices of fresh food which tasted as good as it looked.
Fantastic place fantastic food
What more can I say
Would recommend it highly
Great food. Great beer. Lovely staff. Lovely surroundings.
Lovely evening, good food and service!
Reasonable prices. Would happily dine there again.
Fabulous evening out, we chose to dine outside. This was in a open fronted marquee, tables were distanced and everything felt very Covid-safe. Service was speedy and impeccable, food and drink choices were good. It was a seasonal food menu with an emphasis on local asparagus at the time we were there and the food was plentiful and very nice. I enjoyed my lamb tagine but was deeply envious of my other half’s steak & local ale pie. We’re staying with walking distance for a week and fully intend to go back before the week is out.
We sat outside in what are pleasant gardens. Service by the staff was excellent. Whilst our starters of the Roulade my pie were lovely, my partners Smoked Salmon and Asparagus Salad was a disappointment. The salad was lacking as was the quantity of the main ingredients. Shame as it was probably the easiest dish to get right. However, it would probably not put us off from going again.
A very special venue, historic and beautiful. Great meal and cheerful ser
good service . Highly recommended.
The Fleece has taken exception steps to accommodate customers in compliance with the current COVID-19 regulations. However we were rather disappointed with the food and service. This may have been due to staffing problems being a Monday and also post COVID. Hopefully the Fleece will return to its previous standard once they are able to get back to normal operations.
An excellent place to wine and dine with friendly staff providing a very enjoyable experience!
We haven’t visited the pub for a while but it felt like we had never left. The staff were friendly, the orchard is lovely and peaceful and the food was out of this world. Especially the pies, they are the best ever! Can’t wait to come back.
Well below par for service. Main course arrived before our starter then, when we'd finished the starter, they tried to give us the mains they had previously cooked! We also had to ask for a side dish which had been forgotten.
The food was good and we took away the pizza we didn't eat but the service let it down badly this time.
Such a lovely old pub with excellent food and service
The Fleece Inn is delightful - beautiful location and full of history! The food was great and service outstanding. We will be looking to return and to stay the night to enjoy the full experience. Can’t wait to return!!
Wonderful meal in a beautiful setting. Friendly and efficient service
Very good Traditional Sunday roast lunch in a medieval indoor setting added to a unique dining experience
The choice of menu was very limited, the food was very average and the service extremely slow. We have eaten at The Fleece before on a few occasions and it appears the standards have declined, would we go back ? I am not sure ?
They were very busy but we didn't have to wait long for our food. Staff were all lovely. Food was great and it was lovely to actually have a choice as a vegan. Cannot wait to visit again.
Lovely few hours in the orchard next to the pub. Not too busy and thought gone into keeping people covid safe. Fun to see people in horse boxes! Staff were running around and we had to wait for menu initially and someone to take dessert order. Starter came quickly. Bit disappointed with beer which seemed flat. Food pricey at £14 pie and chips and especially the £6 Eton mess which was 3 berries, scoop of ice cream, 2 scoops of cream and sprinkle of either icing sugar or meringue (couldn't tell difference). However we'd had a walk around Bretforton in the sunshine, done some people watching and enjoyed the atmosphere and history.
The starter was excellent. The main course we chose was battered haddock but this was disappointing. Rather more stodgy batter than actual fish .
Lovely pub and food, slightly slow service but might have been because we were in their large garden out of sight but overall very pleasant experience and would return.
When asked if we could move out of the wind to a shelter. We were told that ALL tables were fully booked At 16:30 really
Excellent food, lovely beer (Pigs Ear) and swift service made this a very enjoyable couple of hours. Love that they've made horse boxes into sheltered outdoor seating/dining areas.
Lovely old building in old thatched village. Very friendly atmosphere and staff. I would recommend the pies. Superb taste and plenty of meat
Staff seemed a little disorganised with respect to the food and drink orders, but we're very polite. The starters and mains were excellent but the portions were not for the faint hearted. Covid restrictions took some of the 'feel' out of the place which was quieter than usual.
A wonderful place to visit friendly staff
Great food and service
Wonderfullly historic pub as expected. Lunchtime was quiet midweek. Food was good pub food but not exceptional. All in all totally satisfactory.
Good traditional food, great service, socially distanced brilliantly.
A super place to eat outside on a lovely summer day. Food and service very good.
Under the present circumstances it was accceptable but not brillliant.
My wife and I really enjoyed our meal hear whilst visiting the area,The food was outstanding quality I had the Ham hock and poached egg and Asparagus for starters whilst my wife had the smoke salmon and crab roulade and for mains we had the steak and ale pies no wonder they are classed as award winning fleece inn pies they were outstanding filled to the top well worth trying best we have ever tasted.
Great place food/helpful/price/atmosphere will definitely go again
We have eaten at The Fleece frequently, at all times of day, for the last 14 years, since moving to Worcestershire. We have never had a single reason to complain about any aspect of our visits there. The quality of the food and drink is always superb, the atmosphere is unique and the staff are amazing! Naturally the first place we wanted to go when we finally came out of our COVID cave was The Fleece. We had a perfect weekday lunch on Monday, sitting under the apple trees, enjoying the sunshine, listening to birdsong and eating excellent homemade food. A perfect antidote to all that has gone before.
