The building was lovely. It was a nice atmosphere. However, our food tasted like it was over cooked or microwaved, so felt overpriced. We know others who have dined here and had a very good experience with their food. It was a disappointing that it wasn’t the case for us.

On arrival we were taken to our seats quickly a member of the staff took our drinks order 20minutes later the drinks never arrived. Another member of the staff came for our food order which we ordered 2 beef pies at that time we asked where our drinks order were shortly after our drinks arrived which had been forgotten. We waited and we waited over 40 minutes the same member of the staff who took our food order asked us if we ordered the 2 steak pies and told us the order had gone astray not long after it turned up we were hungry at this point and noticed that the hand cut chips were actually thin fries the presentation was poor floating in too much gravy as we were hungry carried on eating to find the beef pies were very salty both of us only managed to eat half. We were not asked how the meal was until the the girl came to take our unfinished plates away we mentioned on going to pay the saltiness in our meals which the member of staff said she couldn't understand it . She did take the cost of one of the pies off because of perhaps the poor service we had . This was booked as a special occasion booking . We therefore advise if you book a special occasion expect to be treated this way . Poor service Poor food.

A quaint very old pub with very good food and service. If you appreciate the age of the building and it’s history and enjoy good food then this place is definitely worth a visit. Good choice of menu to suit most people.

Could offer a few more different Ale’s only two on offer a Bitter & Pale Ale, a Ruby Ale would be nice. When asked if they had bottled Ale was told we only have those two and that’s it. As it’s a 120 mile round trip we usually only visit when in the area, and usually a party of 4/6 of us. We always have a meal when visiting and would give the Service a 5 and the food a 4 to 4.5, though on our last visit the food was a bit Salty and I think that the Vegetables where just shown the water, as my wife who likes them crunchy couldn’t even eat them let alone the other 5 of us. The matter was resolved by way of taking our drinks off the Bill. Would we visit again certainly when in the Area.

Our first visit and will definitely return! The service was very good, courteous and attentive, but not OTT! The food was lovely, and all our party were served together. Once we had finished we weren’t rushed out of the door and were told we could stay as long as we liked! A beautiful, old and quirky pub that we will definitely visit again!

Beautiful old inn. Ate in an old horse box in the garden which was an interesting and enjoyable novelty. Good choice of ales and ciders and the Pinot Grigio was good value and quality. All the starters were impressive and greatly enjoyed. The three different Sunday lunches we had were all very good (pork, lamb and beef). The roast potatoes were the only slight disappointment as they were not crispy. I think they were not parboiled first and then roasted. One of us chose the homemade beef and ale pie with the roast potatoes and seasonable vegetables changed to chips and peas. What arrived was a chicken pie, chips and seasonable vegetables, not what was ordered. The chicken pie was good and eaten instead, apparently the different pastry topping had been mixed up at some point. The pie was removed from the bill so we were very happy overall. The children menu was varied and catered well for various allergies. The coeliac 3 year old greatly enjoyed the houmous and raw veg followed by gluten free fish and chips but was defeated by the generous portion size. We would certainly make the trip from Worcester to eat there again.

This is our local pub/restaurant and pub itself is very good. The restaurant can be a bit hit and miss. We have eaten in a pub group number of occasions And the food has been quite good, last night’s fish and chips and meat pie is very underwhelming quite boring. Very disappointed!
