The Fogata Brazilian Steakhouse
Amazing food and service. Also have a great wine selection.
If you’re wanting a Brazilian steakhouse and you don’t want to leave Manassas, this will hit the spot. The salad bar, cuts of meat, and process are all what you would expect. Overall though the decor is rough around the edges, lighting is way too bright (felt like I was in a cafeteria), and considering that I was one of 3 tables in the whole restaurant, service (while very nice and good intentioned) was fairly inattentive.
After saying all of that... this brings me to the price and wine selection. Wine list looks great, however there are no options to buy by the glass except for un-labeled house wines. The total price per person is excessive based on my review above.
This was our second visit to The Fogata. Both times we went on a weekday and were nearly the only people there - and we're shocked. The food is amazing and the service is warm and friendly. I would go every night if that were a reasonable thing to do. We took our 18-month-old grandson both times. There were plenty of things he was happy to eat. When the waiters came by with the meat options, he would jump up and down in his chair!
If you're looking for a night out with delicious food and an atmosphere that encourages conversation, if you love to sit around a table casually eating while enjoying your dinner companions, if you love trying new things and delicious meat, The Fogata is someplace you'll be happy you tried!
Excellent food and even better service. This place should be much busier for the quality establishment it gives
Second time here and we love it! Great food and service. Will be back!
Great food great service
Needs to improve the ambiance and table setting
It lacks organization
Good value for lunch
Quality was exceptional
Food was delicious. I don’t eat meat and it was more than enough with the salad bar. Loved it!
La Fogata never disappoints. Have been there many times and recommend to all people that ask me of where to eat in Manassas. Same as Texas de Brazil, but lower priced and includes desserts. The brunch on Sundays is the best brunch place in Manassas, but ask for bacon & pancakes if you want them. Ask for anything you want and they might be able to cook it for you.
Great find with great meats, wine, and service. The salad bar is not very comprehensive but we come primarily for the grilled specialties.
It was a nice job for a new place. I am used to fogo de chao. If I didn’t have expectations it would have been nice, but I have been to better places. Also, after they went through a round of their meats, the stopped coming to our table even though we had our green piece flipped to “on”. We had to ask them to keep coming after 10 minutes of waiting.
This was our first experience at this restaurant. Overall we liked it. The meats were excellent. The salad bar wasn't as extensive as other Brazilian steakhouses but it was nice.
Great experience and great food!
My husband took me to celebrate Mother’s Day a day early. It was delicious! The food was amazing!
The majority of the meats that were served were cooked too well for my liking.
This was a great experience! I only eat well done meat which can be difficult at these types of restaurants. The servers prepared a plate of well done meats and brought it to my table just for me. This was above and beyond service. Thank you!!!
We come in town for a business dinner and took a trip to this place and was very happy. Great service and food.
Good Food at a reasonable price. The ambience was nice and service excellent. I intend to return and have recommended others to try it.
Very good customer service!
The place was impecable service outstanding and food was delicious. Excellent
The overall experience was very nice. The overall ambiance and the decor were very nice. The service was pleasant and attentive. The food fell short of expectation for a Brazilian Churrascaria. The meat wasn't very tender, the flavor was ok, and they came thru plenty of times. The salad bar was very basic, below any basic standard. Desserts were ok.
Place was ok. It was Valentine’s Day so it was busy. I get it. We didn’t even get menus.
Our first visit was a wonderful experience. The food was impeccable and the service outstanding. Salvador did a great job. One suggestion my wife and I would make is to let the customer know what to expect in terms of the menu and dining options. We were not sure what to do after we ordered drinks and the server said to begin when ready. We assumed that meant to proceed to the salad bar, which we did, but had no idea what came next. We were delightfully surprised when the meat selections began to arrive at our table. Each one was a delight that we totally enjoyed but it would have been great if we knew what was coming. Each serving was amazing! Thank you. We do expect to return. 😋
This place is excellent. The service is superb & the food is incredible. The price is exactly where is should be as well.
Meat was limited and either dry or overcooked. 1 or 2 cuts out of like 10 available were good, expected much more!
Went there on a Saturday night and was shocked by how empty it was. That made me apprehensive, but the food turned out to be pretty good, and the service wasn't bad. I'd go there again.
Salad bar was unique and tasty. The meet beef was a mixed bag. Some were juicy, flavor full, and tender and some were over-cooked and dry. One or two where very salty. The chicken wrapped in bacon was some of the best I have ever eaten which was a bit odd since this restaurant is known primarily for the beef.
The wait-staff were great.
At $50+ a head it is a bit overpriced due mostly to the inconsistent quality of the beef being severed.
We stopped in for a Sunday Brunch. The food was very tasty. Most meat restaurants use a lot of salt to marinate their meats. I didn’t taste a lot of salt in Fogata’s meats. Great salad selection. I will be going back to Fogata’s to try out their dinner menu.
We had a pleasant Father's Day dinner. All of the food was delicious, while we were provided great service. We will definitely return!
We had an amazing lunch and Eric was the most attentive host. Recommend if you’re in Va seeking a good meal. They are not Fogo or Chimas but the service, food and atmosphere was very pleasant.
We went here on a Sunday afternoon. I am very familiar with Brazilian Steakhouses, as in I worked in one for almost nine years. We were the only ones dining for the first hour we were there. The ambiance is amazing... very lovely. Food... hmmm, I wouldn't say it was the best. The rice and beans were not hot, just warm. The salad bar, was alright. They did have hearts of palm, which are my favorite! The meats were okay. I wasn't very impressed. The short rib and ribeye was good. The lamb, tasted like lamb. Service was awesome. The servers always kept checking in with us, which was nice. And the gauchos were very friendly. The staff did make accommodations for us and our service dog. Thank you!
Servers were friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and we will definitely be back!!
Great taste great service noise level is quiet you can here the people who you are talking too. Steak taste better than Texas de Brazil prices are also cheaper
If you're expecting Fogo de Chao you could be disappointed or pleasantly surprised. Fogata meat selection was awesome. Their kitchen and rotisserie was visible through a window. Their servers were present (not as much as Fogo de Chao - but that's a good thing) and responsive to requests. Good experience and treat for the family.
The customer service was excellent. The food was ok. The sirloin was the best. It all depends on how you like your meat cooked. There was a group of adults with small children who disrupted the entire restaurant. The children were out of control and running throughout the restaurant. The parents didn’t tend to their children. The staff seemed irritated with them. The noise level was too loud. This isn’t a place I would recommend to anyone.
This place has potential. Just not right now.
For Valentine’s Day, we chose The Fogata and were not disappointed. The food was great as was the staff. Although EXTREMELY busy and packed, the entire wait staff was on their “A” game.
My only compliant, it’s a bit tight. The tables were too close together, in my opinion; my husband not bothered one bit. Will definitely go there again!
This place is Fantastic! Forget Tyson’s or DC, the best Brazilian Steakhouse is right here in Manassas!
The staff was unorganized and very unprepared for the amount of reservations they accepted for valentines day. The waiters was frantic and spread out throughout the restaurant. The servers for the meat did not come around to all tables. We received the same 3 servers for meats. We had to request that certain meats be brought to our table. The salad bar was slow to be replenished. I would return just not for a special occasion. I think they should also stagger their reservations for seating purposes.
However it was not that crazy I didn’t see the servers who walk around with meat until I got mad and called a seater and her respond were you assigned a waiter ??? Really this not my problem at this point, go find out.
The reason for us to go there was because I couldn’t find a reservation at Texas de Brazil I honestly won’t come back. I get way better service at TDB for the same price so why I come back.
Plus they added tips without my approval, I don’t really want to tip a place didn’t impress me.
Tried just on a whim and so much enjoyed the experience. Excellent food, reasonable price and great service. Will return again.
This place is a mixed bag. If you are coming solely for good meat, you will not be disappointed. The service was also attentive, friendly, but not overbearing. However, the salad bar was horrible. The best thing was the sliced cheese, because at least it had a taste to it. Literally none of the other composed dishes had any seasoning at all. Not even salt. Granted this is only an accompaniment to the meat, but personally I like variety in my meal. They did have a decent wine selection. We went on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was 2/3 empty, which meant the noise level was low. The biggest concern I have is that the price of $40 for just meat seems high. Given that I can’t even eat a whole steak at one sitting and you can’t take home leftovers, I found it to be overpriced. I realize this the Brazilian Steakhouse model, you either like it or you don’t, so I didn’t factor that in too heavily to my score.
