Great welcome and service, amazing food, attractive setting, we enjoyed the whole experience and definitely recommend for a special occasion. As someone who needs a gluten free diet, the menu was clearly marked and great care taken. Thank you!
Lovely setting by the river, we had a lovely table in the window.
Wine was perfectly chilled, service was very good.
The cauliflower wasn’t very tasty and I was given the wrong dessert.
I cannot praise this restaurant enough. The food was incredible, service exceptional and we will certainly come back again.
Lovely restaurant with excellent social distancing and a comfortable ambience. Very good food but the service was a bit erratic, not bad just erratic. I’d thoroughly recommend the place though especially for a special occasion.
Excellent food but could have been hotter and service was really good.
simply wonderful food (the parfait is outstanding and the only thing that could be heard was 'mmmmmm' ). The service was attentive and friendly but without being fawning or oppressive. We had the house red - very good. Although the restaurant was full there was no problem about hearing each other talk (4 of us) and we weren't packed in close to other tables. And of course the lights reflected on the river; the heron just at the bottom of the bridge and looking over the glass domes add to a perfect place to come for dinner.
The Folly must be the go-to- place for dinner. My only wish was that I'd booked earlier so I could have booked one of the domes.
We had a lovely evening here, the service was friendly and professional, the fodd was good quality and there was a good buzz about the place. Would go back.
Just outstanding! We sat inside and couldn’t fault anything, even down the music playlist which was right up our street. And I’m not one for reviews normally but felt it needed to be said. Thank you for a great evening.
Staying in Oxford with an old friend for relaxation
Really lovely evening
Met by lovely staff, food was amazing.
Harry looked after us very well.
Outstanding meal. Excellent service.
We loved our evening here. As always we had a warm welcome, very good service, great choice on menu and delicious food. Service was just right - there when we wanted it but not intrusive and within a good time frame.
Family gathering. The range and quality of the menu was excellent.
Very very good quality and tasty food. A bit slow but that’s understandable on a Friday night.
Delicious food and lovely spot right by the river, service was excellent as well.
Not very impressive looking from the outside but lovely & welcoming on entering.
Food was delicious and the staff friendly and attentive but not overbearing.
Quite pricey but reflected in the quality & presentation of the food.
Perfect for a special occasion.
Very helpful, hospitable and authentically friendly and relaxed. Delicious food and beautiful setting. Not at all pretentious or snobbish. Will go again
Table ready early for us since we got there sooner than expected lovely starters and main courses ran out of room for desserts
One of the best dinning experiences I've ever had.
Tasting menu and accompanying wines for our anniversary. Wonderful food, excellent service (except for a few weirdnesses around timing of wine relative to food), and a lovely setting.
A lovely restaurant situated right on the Thames. It was a beautiful little find. The food was great as was the service.
Lovely restaurant, great food, would definitely got there again. Lovely location by the river. Also recommend the daytime boat river cruise.
The food was good but I was not happy with the service. The website states if you have any dietary requirements please tell us and I did but the waiter (wearing a cable knit jumper and very dark hair) did not really suggest any alternatives and seemed annoyed when I asked if it was possible to have something without Mayo. I feel like the waiter took a disliking to me from the moment beginning, then when the food came he gave us the wrong ones which is fine but when I went to switch them with my partner he ran back to the table and asked me what I was doing, I felt like a child being scolded when I definitely know better than him whose dish was ordered for who. After this awkward encounter he didn’t once come back to ask if the food was okay as the norm in other restaurants and I was there for my mother’s 65th birthday the service spoilt the mood if I’m honest. He also didn’t see us again or speak to us as we left the restaurant, the other female waitress got us our bill, I wish she had served us from the start. I don’t often leave negative reviews but the service really ruined the afternoon tea for my mother on a special day and it’s a shame because the scones and cakes were delicious. The service let the restaurant down and for this reason I don’t see myself returning anytime soon.
Marvelous to sit out on the pontoon by the river in mid October!
They can deal with both dairy free and gluten free diners!
Perfect location on the river, this excellent restaurant has been one of the best we have been to in quite a while.
The menu was innovative and fresh, they clearly cater for all food allergies and intolerances
My wife is both gluten and dairy free, and I could not tell the difference between her meals and mine. Brilliant, very thoughtful menu and caring staff. Highly recommend
Lovely place. Both inside and on the terrace. Amazing service x
The food was delicious and beautifully presented, the staff were attentive and gave excellent service. I understand why the restaurant was full and the outside tables were all occupied, even though it was mid-October. Well worth visiting.
the place is very nice and the staff was very friendly. I'm not very happy with the food, it takes a long time between the first and the main (about 25 min) and there were not many people dining. I ordered the sea breams and it was just a fish fillet !! It was very small (just 4 bites), I usually eat fish at home and that fillet weighed no more than 100g and for £ 25! although it was cooked perfect. The dish that my girlfriend ordered was the sirloin or similar (I don't remember very well), it was very good but very small portions for the price and I left the restaurant hungry after having paid 100 pounds. Then I stopped at the tesco express for 3 kinder bueno and was happier to go to bed
Fantastic food and service. Went for birthday treat and wasn’t disappointed. Kids menu available for my youngest daughter and she also loved the home made lemonade. Would definitely recommend for a treat.
Excellent food and lovely experience. Never disappoints.
Third time unlucky. Menu not as web and poor choice for gf wife. staff were unhelpful and premium price plus service. fish was overcooked having been great the first time. will be back to brasserie blanc in the future. food good but pricey and not value for money
Absolutely outstanding meal! The staff were attentive and the restaurant situated in a fantastic area with lovely views over the river. The pork was the best I have ever tasted!
Well isn't this a delight. Welcoming staff, clean, lovely view of the river.
That's all well and good right, but what about the food and service?
Exquisite - thats all you need to know of the food. Chef clearly cares very much about what is sent out for service, and the service is polite, friendly and considerate.
I'd recommend the lemon cheesecake as a pudding, freshly made and quite simply sumptuous. It serves two if you have disquiet about seconds on the lips...
What's not to like? It was a little quiet but on a mizzle day in October what else is it likely to be?
Book The Folly - and why not throw a river cruise in while you're at it.
Great place for an afternoon tea! Great view and staff!
I went here with my partner for lunch and the food was exceptional quality, I had pork belly and my partner had guinea fowl. Both were beautifully presented and the service was warm and friendly throughout. I really like the manner of the staff, it is very welcoming and I am sure that I will be back.
The furniture outside is run down and service was slow. I was disappointed with my burger as i felt for the price paid it didn't match up. I had to ask for salt and pepper rather than be offered it. However, the bread was lovely and arrived hot - the flavours were delicious and my elderflower compresse was so refreshing with a lovely view of the boats and river.
Food beautiful. Very long wait from 1st course to 2nd and chipped plates in an upmarket restaurant like this not good!
We were sitting outside under the marquee. The table had been prepared but the decorations and ambience around us did not meet expectations or value. We had light chains over our table but they had not been cleaned and there were spider nets all over them and spiders hanging everywhere over our table. The food was relatively good and service good.
Guest experience service and food was fab, however an assumption of 12.5% service charge sours the visit. Gratuities should always be decided by the customer.
