The Forbes Arms boasts a new dining experience, riverside restaurant and outdoor patio area overlooking the River Don and William Minto’s segmental granite arched bridge built in 1811. The original Public Bar retains the historic character while the Lounge Bar and the Snug offer a more relaxing place to eat and drink with luxurious furnishings throughout.

    I had one of the best meals in a long time today. It’s hard to find something in Aberdeenshire, that’s of good quality, price and decent portions. I booked yesterday for my birthday, with my folks, and we haven’t stopped saying how fantastic it was. From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly, the decor was gorgeous, and the food was unreal. Thank you so much - I will be recommending The Forbes Arms to so many people

    We enjoyed a delicious meal on Saturday, the venue and service were outstanding. The menu options were varied and gave us a great selection to choose from. We were somewhat perplexed when the bill arrived as we expected it to be more, based on quality of food we received. Great value for money.

    Top quality furnishings and atmosphere with the bonus of stunning scenery through the dining room windows. Staff very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Food of a very high quality. Would certainly recommend as an excellent place for a meal.

    There is always a very welcoming feel as you walk through the door. The reception and table staff were very pleasant and attentive. We had a comfortable window seat which gave us a little distance from a fairly large family party at another table. The restaurant wasn’t full so the noise was kept to a level where it was possible to have an easy conversation. The food was delicious, as always and I can highly recommend the Vegan Wellington. Although we didn’t have starters, there wasn’t too long to wait before the main dishes appeared. We all agreed that dining at the Forbes Arms is a very enjoyable experience!

    My husband and three of our friends had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch at the Forbes Arms today. All of our menu choices hit the spot and the staff were subtly attentive. I have never been disappointed with my visits to Forbes Arms.

    It's always a pleasure to visit the Forbes Arms for a meal. The food is excellent, the staff are very friendly and attentive. Just another fortnight until we go again.
