The Michelin Starred, Fordwich Arms, located in the smallest town in England, dates as far back as 1828. Draped in ivory and wisteria in the most picturesque location over looking the Great River Stour, the perfect setting for an idyllic summers lunch. Boasting open fireplaces for the colder winter months, creating a cosy and welcoming ambiance.
Daniel and Natasha Smith took over The Fordwich Arms in 2017 and were awarded a Michelin Star within the first year, as well as being in the top 100 gastro pubs in the UK, multiple culinary awards, notable wine awards and various other accredits, a testament to their hair work and talent.
The seasonal menus focus on provenance, showcasing the best of local Kentish ingredients, sourced directly from local farms and producers. Dan's cooking is accomplished yet approachable, served in a relaxed pub environment with a choice of a la carte or tasting menus.

We are extremely excited to be working alongside our friends from Nyetimber, pairing their prestigious 1086 alongside 4 different courses created by Daniel and Natasha Smith. Places are limited and will be sold on a first come first serve basis. This event will be held in a communal dining style in our beautiful oak panelled dining room. Due to the nature of the event we will not be able to cater to dietary requirements. We will operate a 7 day cancellation policy for this event.

The staff are attentive and service was friendly, relaxed and efficient. The dining room is relaxing, perfect venue for a long lunch. We had the tasting menu, which was reasonably priced given the quality and was not stuffy. Highlights were the parfait, scallop, monkfish and snickers. Drinks were also reasonably priced. Recommended.

Tremendous Sunday lunch. Slight disappointment we were too late for the lamb but the beef as our second choice was fantastic.

Fabulous food in delightful setting. It’s not cheap though! Banquette seating wasn’t great for my back, but I chose to sit there instead of on the chair. Bar was quite noisy initially with drinkers at the bar, but they cleared to their tables and the ambience was very pleasant.

Excellent food and service , just to be picky, a shame about the background music, it still puzzles me why high end restaurants feel the need to play a 70s and 80s play list, it really doesn't work ,but that is easily remedied and didn't spoil the experience of the food, possibly the best I've ever had, and the top notch service, highly recommended for an event, a treat, a special occasion.

This was our second visit to the Fordwych Arms and the food, service and general experience was as fantastic as the first. I love the building and dining space and the staff are warm friendly and extremely professional. We had the tasting menu and once again it was delicious with perfect proportions and incredible flavours. Very much looking forward to a third visit already :)

The food and service excellent as usual and really like the "amuse bouche" extras and chocolate with the bill. Only concern is that on a Thursday night the number of covers varies and if it's low then you are seated in the bar not the restaurant.
