Food was surprisingly good for a pub. Ambience was amazing!
Thank you for visiting us! We are glad to know you enjoyed yourself.
Waiters lied to us about having access to the TV for a channel. We kept asking and our food was finished before they could give us a correct answer.
I booked a table with OpenTable and they located us at the entrance of the establishment.
We had multiple servers during the night, slow service, loud music and getting separate bills was a hassle!
I chose this place because of its high ratings in OpenTable and also because of the pics they have posted. Unfortunately, I was disappointed
Amazing service and great food. Beautiful restaurant
The food tasty, and very nice complimentary glass of wine. Unexpected and appreciated. Our server (s) were fun and thoughtful. We'll recommend you, and be back!
Website says they have brunch, shows a brunch menu…I showed up, they said they didn’t serve brunch or ever have a brunch menu ??? Staff was very rude.
Post wedding brunch. Booked for 1 pm. Tables were all dirty when we showed up, had to wait for clear/set, after being ignored at the door for at least five minutes, even though the restaurant was empty. We sat, took at least another five to ten minutes to get (empty) water glasses, then finally menus and water. After anothe five minutes or no service, finally practically yell at someone to ask a question - where’s the brunch menu? Surprise, no brunch. Apparently brunch ends at 11:30 am - this isn’t posted anywhere (at least not anywhere easy to find). There was no apology, he seemed completely uninterested in providing any sort of service. We left. Gave the food three stars because we didn’t eat any.
Very fun atmosphere! A little loud for catching up with a friend, but great place to go with a group. Good cocktails, yummy bites, and good service, in a prime location.
Service was a little slow. Tables spaced well apart. All covid measures are being met. Drinks were good. Food is decent.
This was my second time over at The Fortunate Fox and I honestly believe it’ll be my new go-to spot. The food is great and the servers are so polite. It’s in a great area, right by the subway station and lots of bars within walking distance. Love the vibe and everything about this place!
It’s a really nicely designed restaurant inside a beautiful hotel. The portions of food are really small for glorified pub food. They didn’t have option for dipping sauces of fries. Literally mayonnaise or ketchup. Drinks were extremely overpriced. A pitcher of sangria will give three people no more than four, not even filled glasses.
I just wouldn’t go back because the value for money isn’t there.
Although I reserved the table, they did not have the table. The waitress put me on wait for 15 mts and then another 20-30 mts wait for menu order. While we were waiting, the brunch hour was over. The food was extremely salty.
Great service and a great menu. Will be back!
It’s an ok bar, good music, regular food. The best thing is the location
Amazing food, amazing service, amazing interior! Loved the vibes inside and the staff was super accommodating and friendly. Will definitely be returning.
Our server was amazing, and so were the rest of the staff. The place was gorgeous and the vibe was great
Great atmosphere for a Raptors game with tasty eats and drinks! Loved the decor/vibe! Will be back again soon.
Service was quick, friendly, and thoughtful! Our server made sure we were well looked after and was quick to bring out both our food and beverage orders. Will definitely return in the not too distant future!
First time here and totally loved it! The staff were super friendly and the food was amazing. Definitely coming back and highly recommend!
The food was great, the beer was on point, the staff and the atmosphere were amazing.
The restaurant service was great. But the ambience of patio outside is kinda alright. I would’nt say it was amazing.
I didn’t know that my date has a dairy free dietary restriction. If you do, this place is not the right choice 😅 I felt bad that he got to choose only one item that was dairy free from the entire menu.
The wings were some of the best I've had in Toronto. Buffalo chicken nachos were tasty. Server was prompt and friendly, excellent service. Only thing I would change is there is no price for doubles so even rail liquor is overly expensive at the moment. Would definitely recommend/return.
Highly recommend the salmon, comes with the most delicious potatoes you've ever tasted and a fabulous sauce. Started the evening off with their Margharita special - very good, nice and salty! and on sale! Service is excellent, friendly, efficient but not obnoxious. Tables nicely spaced with greenery, great atmosphere! Good place for dinner or drinks, I'll go back for sure! and a two minute walk from St.George station - Love it!
It was great service. Difficult to split bill the way we wanted to.
Food was OK, but not the best pub food. Chicken pot pie was salty and average tasting. Salads looked almost sad. Drinks were decent though. Service was very friendly but a little bit slow even though only few customers were there.
Loved this place and will definitely be returning! The spirits list was extensive and reasonable priced, all their cocktails were creative and tasty, our server was absolutely wonderful and the food options (even on the late night menu) were definitely a step above standard bar food. Even the nachos, a classic bar food staple, really stood out! Overall a great experience and can’t wait to return!
Not good. I arrived for my reservation only to stand at the door waiting to be seated and overheard a waitress tell customers that she was too busy to check something for them but she would when she found the time. She ignored me standing there. I was eventually seated. Waited for a waitress to order a drink. When my Negroni finally arrived I was told “heads up we ran out of compari so we made your drink with Aperol. Let me know if you don’t like it. I eventually left after telling the waitress that the drink was no good and my appetite for staying had all together vanished. Also, very loud rock music. The vibe of this place did not match the decor represented in the photos on Open Table. Very disappointed.
this is just a casual bar/grill/pool table kind of place. However, the service was extraordinarily friendly, and the food so good. I had the salmon dinner- cooked perfectly, potatoes and asparagus. Five Stars!
Loved the live music
Very disappointing for a Kimpton property ... and a very nice Kimpton property at that ... no inspiration, no creativity, just average bar food with a below average bar ...
Had the nachos with chicken. Have to say wasn't the best - cheese wasn't melted through (enough said) . As for the service there was no follow-up after the food was served , nor second offer for drinks or top up for water ( which by the way was served with no ice) can't say I'd make the effort to go back.
1. off key singer was in attendance that night.
2. Gusts of cold wind came thru every time one of two doors opened.
The short rib poutine was great! Their drinks are very creative and tasty. I had the 'Fox News' and it was quite refreshing.
We also ordered the peppercorn steak and shortrib mains, and both were okay. The Short Rib dinner wasn't particularly inspired. It was much more in the style of a "meat and potatoes" British pub meal, rather than anything fancy. Tasted almost like packaged gravy and the shortribs were more like a shaved pot roast type of meat.
Otherwise the ambiance and service was solid.
Super Bowl event, great crowd, good screens, good food, staff engaging in Super Bowl prizes. Would like more squares called out next time. Only half time square called.
It's been a long time since I've gone to a restaurant and enjoyed the ambiance this much. The restaurant was full and I didn't feel like I could hear any other conversations; the acoustics were really well controlled. The food was delicious (though, they definitely need more cheese on their nachos) and the drinks were very reasonably priced. Especially for a hotel bar/restaurant, the value was very good. Will definitely be back and recommend The Fortunate Fox to friends.
This was the first time I was there and definitely would go back. The food and service were both very good. There was four of us so lots of catching up to do and it was so nice not to be rushed.
A surprisingly nice dining experience at a great value. When you walk in there's the wallet butterflies of being in a really nice space in a good neighborhood in Toronto but the value was impeccable. Appetizers were large enough to share with a table of 4, drinks were affordably priced, refills were plentiful and prompt. Entrees were appropriately priced and well prepared. There's nothing more disappointing paying $20 for a burger and regretting every bite. Not here! Great burger, dressed well, good bun and a healthy amount of fries to go along. Also well under $20 for their burgers. Well done! (My burger was a nice medium.)
Friendly service. We ordered a plate of nachos, the house chopped salad and a foxy cobb salad. The food came out very quickly and was delicious and fresh. Very fairly priced. We will definitely be back.
