Very friendly and accommodating, delicious food and great service
Very friendly attentive staff. Fantastic meal. So much so we rebooked on the day for the following weekend.
Can not rate high enough.
Covid measures still in place which is good.
We had a very pleasant evening with plenty of choice for my celiac and vegetarian friends.
Great place to eat - good spacing between tables, excellent service and gorgeous food.
Excellent food the best for miles around. We come back time after time
Excellent service and food. Large parking area at rear and large outdoor area for dining.
Excellent as always, our favourite place for Sunday lunch
We had such a great evening meal at the Fox & Hounds last night. I had the steak and mushroom pie with chips and veg and it was truly yummy! The service was fantastic. Lovely staff who knew their stuff, were attentive, friendly and quick. I gave one star less for ambience and that’s only because I prefer lower lighting in larger rooms. The place is nicely decorated, but isn’t overly intimate. Reduced lighting and candles on the table would make things even nicer. We will definitely be returning.
Always a great meal and drinks in a covid safe environment
Great food and very generous portions. The service was extremely good
Good range of food and drink choices with excellent service
Lovely setting, really pleasant helpful staff and food excellent and great value
Tom runs a great local pub, good pub food and friendly efficient staff. Well worth a visit
We were disappointed after reading all the favourable reviews. We were the only diners in the room for the first hour or so and the young staff were attentive and polite. We perhaps didn’t choose our meals well. The Ploughman’s looked promising, but the beef slices were hard to cut with a not very sharp knife. There was a large ciabatta which needed a separate plate. Chips were very good. The lamb pie was spicy, but ok. I’m not usually as critical as this, but there was something lacking here, the young people working hard looked a little anxious and the ambience was a bit chilly and not relaxing. COVID regulations were in full force, vinegar bottle carried in a small towel and wine glasses proferred on a tray. I’m sure that for some people this is pleasing, but it didn’t make the atmosphere any warmer.
Lovely food, just odd to have gravy with a madras pie lol
Really lovely pub with v pretty garden, excellent attentive staff and fantastic huge plates of food
We both thoroughly enjoyed our main courses: delicious.
However our pudding, panna cotta was disappointingly solid, and the coffee was amazingly weak.
One of the best pub Sunday roast I have had. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the food came fast and at a perfect temperature. The ale was also good. Totally recommend this pub.
Excellent home cooked food at reasonable price. So nice to find decent food and not mass produced pre prepared food.
Lovely setting. Friendly staff and owner, dog friendly.
Food amazing, staff were very good. We had a request which they went out of their way to do. Top service. Lovely garden too.
Went for Saturday lunch, great "pie of the day" (lamb madras) and cajun chicken salad plus delicious Creme Brûlée and Ice Cream. Thought Ciabbata was expensive (£3.50) based on receiving only two slices
Took my other half and he was very impressed with the menu choices and indeed the quality of the food. Nicely presented, beautifully cooked, good portion size. Spot on!
All staff were lovely, nice greeting, knowledgeable about dishes and wine too.
We’ll be back soon!
Beautiful lunch, great service. Catered for gluten free coeliac with large choice from menu. Also catered and cared about other severe food allergies without any fuss. Very rare to find a restaurant that doesn't make me feel like a nuisance but actually made me feel like a normal guest. Beautiful food, will definitely go back and recommend to anyone!
Excellent evening and good food. Will certainly visit again
Really enjoyed out visit, great service and great food
Didn’t like the first table we were given but were re located without fuss Super friendly and attentive service and delicious food
We are regular diners at this country pub. Due to the COVID outbreak we have no been out to diner for some months. Last night we did venture out and we’re not disappointed by our experience. The food and service was excellent and we strongly recommend this establishment.
Food was very good, tables well spaced, staff attentive and wore masks. Will definitely return.
My wife and I went for Sunday Lunch, the table booked for 3 pm.
The website stated that lunch was served between 12pm and 4pm
Both main courses were unbelievably poor. The vegetables were pretty much inedible, overcooked or left under a heat lamp for too long. The roast beef wasn't cooked enough, so impossible to cut. The roast pork was ok.
All in all a very disappointing experience
Really lovely place to eat. Great food and service.
Lovely location and attentive staff. Good selection of beers.
Main courses were very good however two of us chose the cheesecake which was rather bland. Wish we had chosen the crumble made with local plums which our guests said was excellent.
We would definitely recommend a visit to the Fox and Hounds.
This is an outstanding small Gastro pub a polished management and lovely stuff together with good food. I heartily recommend it.
The service was superb . Staff were polite and attentive
Lovely atmosphere. Nice indoor and outdoor areas
We had Sunday lunch . The beef , pork and starters were delicious.
The vegetables were slightly underdone for our taste
Would definitely recommend
Fabulous food and service. Would highly recommend.
Our first visit since the first lockdown. Very safe seating and table service. Meal was excellent and our visiting grandsons (12 & 8) voted it their best pub meal. The chocolate mousse style cheesecake was to die for.
Helpful staff and all our menu choices were served quickly.
We’ll definitely be back soon - and it’s close enough to walk there.
Excellent service. Staff all very polite and attentive. Good choice of menu, catering for food allergens as well. Excellent food, arriving in quick time. Very clean and tidy.
Took my Nan for lunch. We both had the proper pie of the day which was chicken, chorizo and pepper. It was delicious 😋 and my Nan said they were the best chips she has ever tasted and in 82 years she must have tasted a lot! Service impeccable as ever.
Very quiet. Good food, a little different from normal. Pleasant, efficient staff.
Very Good Simple Nice food, My wife particularly liked the double cooked chips and the batter on the fish was superb. Beer was also nice. Friendly staff and good and prompt service, nice setting.
What a great find. While camping locally thought we would give the pub a go. Food was excellent. Couldn't have been any better. Friendly and helpful staff. Superb.
