The Fox & Pheasant
The pub was founded in 1846 and it began its life as the Bedford Arms. Ten years later it changed to the Prince of Wales and in 1965 became The Fox & Pheasant and we have no intention of changing its name again!
Not only are we a snug pub in the winter with 3 fire places, a dartboard and dog biscuits for the well behaved companions (dogs)! We are lucky enough to be able to wind back our roof in the conservatory for those long summer lunches to.
Alongside our a la carte menu we have a bar snack menu that not only runs all day, everyday but also contains such pub classics. Roasts run all day on a Sunday and we guarantee to make sure you will always have ample spuds, gravy and yorkies!
The back room restaurant is a well kept London secret. A great place to enjoy anytime - not just before a Chelsea match. Food is delicious. The staff are out of this world and manage everything with a smile.
Fantastic lunch for my mums birthday 🎂 staff are brilliant, very attentive. Food was delicious! Will definitely revisit again soon.
Extremely nice team , great service polite and efficient
Great place!!! Excellent food with outstanding service. The ambiance is wonderful and we will certainly be back. Thoughtful and kind donation by the Restaurant toward the Australian Bush Fire Animals appeal. Thank you from Jo & Murray Melbourne, Australia
We have been eating here since it opened and the food just keeps getting better!
First time visiting the Fox and Pheasant and we were pleasantly surprised.
Pretty dining area, bright and comfortable.
The food was really lovely, a very decent roast dinner, my mum and I had the roast chicken and my partner had the roast beef. His beef was cooked beautifully and our chicken was juicy and well seasoned. My very only gripe was that the plates are quite small, and often felt like I was having to lift and relocate the Yorkshire pudding to make some room to cut my food.
The staff were polite, smiling and attentive and as we were stopping for lunch prior to the Saatchi gallery it was a great start to lovely afternoon. Thanks F&P!
Beautiful atmosphere and great decor, food was amazing. Service was prompt but with no great enthusiasm however it was a match day so might have just been circumstantial.
Can’t wait to visit again and try out more on the delicious food
Great food, venue and brilliant staff - thanks Rose!
Excellent. We needed to book in advance as we went on a match day before a match started, but it was well worth the wait. Excellent friendly service, they clearly knew all their regulars. Attentive staff who didn’t interrupt constantly. The food was brilliant, chilli squid to start followed by their fish and chips. They make a really good G&T and my guest said the cider was very good. No hurry at all, we could keep the table until we were ready to leave. The pub bar was jam packed with Chelsea supporters and the private dining room was in full
use. Definitely would recommend and we will be returning.
A lovely warm atmosphere with interesting surroundings and gorgeous food, beautifully
prepared and our waitresses were, without exception, just the right amount of attention
and friendliness. An extremely enjoyable evening out.
Shame I couldn’t give six stars. Best roast beef I’ve ever had.
Food was excellent & service couldn’t b faulted , tad noisy upstairs, would of liked to have stayed longer upstairs but was nowhere to sit & was bit loud, & of course would of been perfect if James had popped in !
Great food. Great beer. Great venue. Will definitely return
Extremely slow service and once they finally serve the food nobody comes back to ask if anything else?..........
Pub classics cooked and presented with great flare. Fish and chips were excellent and the mash was very silky. Waldorf salad and parsnip soup both exquisite. Great beer too. Very cosy setting in quiet street, close to Chelsea football stadium. Very friendly and attentive staff. Good value for money. Would definitely go back.
A perfect New Year’s Eve. Impeccable, very friendly service, great food and a good mix of other customers
Delicious food, really friendly staff and a great seating space out back. Highly recommend this place for families as well as just adults later in the day.
Excellent! We keep returning as the food is always good and we are always so warmly welcomed, would definitely reccomend!
Nice decor and cosy. Food was very average, the chicken kiev lacked taste - very disappointing. Not what we was expecting after reading reviews. There are better pubs around the area.
Lovely relaxed warm atmosphere- amazing staff, lovely Finlay doggie - we loved it & felt very welcome xx
Warm welcome, lovely dining area and first class food.
I have dined at some top London restaurants but I would say the food on offer at The Fox and Pheasant is equally as good. The menu offered some wonderful dishes. My only very slight negative would be, as a non-meat eater, I would have preferred one more choice, maybe on the Specials board which only offered a meat dish. Having said that the Hake dish I had was absolutely amazing. I would definitely go back. Very soon hopefully!
The service was rude and very cold! We did run late and only had 1/2hr on our table. The next table sitting was stood behind us waiting to pounce. I couldn’t finish my meal or drinks. The waiter took payment and just very harshly said thanks and walked off. When we asked if we could finish our drinks anywhere at the bar- he replied no, we are full.
Travelled down from Edinburgh to take in a Chelsea FC game and booked a table for lunch - what a gem of a place! Food, beer, atmosphere and especially staff all top notch. Can’t recommend this place highly enough and even had Timmy Taylor’s Landlord Ale.
Don’t turn up without booking - place was rammed. Standing room only in the bar and all tables taken through the back.
Lovely little gem, highly recommend. Friendly staff, accommodating to disabled, oh and dogs 😁
This last time the food was extremely poor. My husbands Cesars salad was soggy. The chicken was dried out. My Chicken Kiev was burned on the outside and the chicken was not cooked through. A big no no‼️ It was on the day you had two big parties. I feel you should have informed us in advance. We would have come on s different day. Complete waist of money.
We visited on a Chelsea match day so the restaurant was full and noisy. Despite this we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would go back on a non match day. Lovely, friendly waiter!
Amazing is word to describe here.
If you want to have best Sunday Roast in London in the most homely London pub - head to the Fox & Pheasant. It gets better every time.
500 gram Cote de boeuf with large bone for two cost £55.00 with salad, a load of Rocket and a few Mini tomatoes. Discretionary Service Charge of 12.5% £7.58 was added to our bill. What a cheek for lousy food and lousy servive, a total rip off. The noise Level was really loud, not a nice evening!
Pity Blunty wasn’t there
But a great pub and food was decent
Living in Switzerland a pub restaurant experience is something we always miss. This place is vibrant and energetic, the staff ever so friendly and the food was amazing. Great selection of wines, beer and cider! We had a wonderful evening and will definitely be back on our next visit to London.
Lunch at the Fox and Pheasant, overall a very pleasant experience, dined in the downstairs Conservatory, pleasant Staff and varied menu, would recommend.
This is a lovely old pub full of character
Although Peter the old landlord was not always charming he was a delight. I was irritated by the service though the food was great. I don’t like being interrupted during conversation and feeling unwelcome.
Fantastic! The chicken Kiev was banging - well worth a visit!
Myself and my boyfriend loved our dining experience at The Fox & Pheasant so much so that we cancelled another reservation we had made for a festive dinner later in December so we could come back to The Fox & Pheasant before leaving London for Christmas. The pub has been done up so nicely and we regularly go for drinks at the bar round the front but had never eaten in the dining room before. 100 percent will be recommending to friends. Thank you for a fab Sunday roast x
Delicious food, helpful staff and wonderful atmosphere
Great service. Delicious food. Served hot and the team were attentive and polite. Amazing. Will be back.
All good, pleasant atmosphere, good food
This is a really special country pub in the middle of Chelsea! Very welcoming and friendly, the food is fantastic, great wine choices and above all it just all comes together so well. I strongly recommend this little beauty.
Best roast in London - loved the atmosphere and staff were amazing. Finlay was so cute too!!
