The Fox & Pheasant
The pub was founded in 1846 and it began its life as the Bedford Arms. Ten years later it changed to the Prince of Wales and in 1965 became The Fox & Pheasant and we have no intention of changing its name again!
Not only are we a snug pub in the winter with 3 fire places, a dartboard and dog biscuits for the well behaved companions (dogs)! We are lucky enough to be able to wind back our roof in the conservatory for those long summer lunches to.
Alongside our a la carte menu we have a bar snack menu that not only runs all day, everyday but also contains such pub classics. Roasts run all day on a Sunday and we guarantee to make sure you will always have ample spuds, gravy and yorkies!
Have now been there 4 times and have not had any bad experiences...a great place
Found food pretty average - v disappointed as I have also booked to eat there tomorrow evening
Lovely Sunday lunch, ate in the garden area and had best table for two. Staff were excellent and food good
A bit disappointed with the Sunday Roast. My husband had the roast beef which was quite tough. I had the roast pork. Difficult to eat. Very fatty. Both meals were not hot enough when received. But ambience is good. We knew some of the serving staff who came from the Cross Keys in Chelsea.
Couldn’t give it 5 stars as the burger was unfortunately very overcooked, however the pork belly tacos and banana soufflé are absolutely amazing!
One meal was good the other one not so good
We were greeted, welcomed and looked after from start to finish - the food was excellent, service friendly and attentive but not overbearing. This is a warm, friendly pub/ restaurant - probably a bit more expensive than I'm used to paying but was definitely worth it. A delightful evening!
As always a joy to eat here and sit in the very pretty dining room. Highly recommend a visit to anyone who wants a relaxing evening with great food and a lovely ambience.
One of my favorite places to drink and dine. Especially because of the staff. Feels like coming home.
Great place for dinner and a few drinks. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be returning.
Cold plates. Cold food.My steak required seasoning . Staff very friendly. Very good Pub also enjoyed playing darts in the Pub after dinner .
We had a very good lunch. Food,Maine and service were excellent.
Very good but surprisingly quiet in the restaurant.
Been a few times and always love it it service seems to have dropped a notch. Some new faces. Also a big push to get you off your table after two hours...then table still free...other restaurants manage this process better, a small thing at the end of the meal that leave a a bit of a sour note.
Great food staff and ambience Will return and recommend to friends
Love it. Especially the pub-part! So much drama.. who need so me
I love this place. Food, atmosphere, staff, location are perfect.
Look forward to my next visit!
Staff warm and friendly
The food was excellent, all cooked on site and beautifully fresh. The scotch egg was fabulous. My main, iof lamb loin was delicious. My husband had the steak and ale pie and said it ranked amongst the best he's had anywhere. Our wait person was Andrea who was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We will certainly go back again with friends. Also the man working behind the bar was very welcoming too.
The back room restaurant is a well kept London secret. A great place to enjoy anytime - not just before a Chelsea match. Food is delicious. The staff are out of this world and manage everything with a smile.
Fantastic lunch for my mums birthday 🎂 staff are brilliant, very attentive. Food was delicious! Will definitely revisit again soon.
Extremely nice team , great service polite and efficient
Great place!!! Excellent food with outstanding service. The ambiance is wonderful and we will certainly be back. Thoughtful and kind donation by the Restaurant toward the Australian Bush Fire Animals appeal. Thank you from Jo & Murray Melbourne, Australia
We have been eating here since it opened and the food just keeps getting better!
First time visiting the Fox and Pheasant and we were pleasantly surprised.
Pretty dining area, bright and comfortable.
The food was really lovely, a very decent roast dinner, my mum and I had the roast chicken and my partner had the roast beef. His beef was cooked beautifully and our chicken was juicy and well seasoned. My very only gripe was that the plates are quite small, and often felt like I was having to lift and relocate the Yorkshire pudding to make some room to cut my food.
The staff were polite, smiling and attentive and as we were stopping for lunch prior to the Saatchi gallery it was a great start to lovely afternoon. Thanks F&P!
Beautiful atmosphere and great decor, food was amazing. Service was prompt but with no great enthusiasm however it was a match day so might have just been circumstantial.
Can’t wait to visit again and try out more on the delicious food
Great food, venue and brilliant staff - thanks Rose!
Excellent. We needed to book in advance as we went on a match day before a match started, but it was well worth the wait. Excellent friendly service, they clearly knew all their regulars. Attentive staff who didn’t interrupt constantly. The food was brilliant, chilli squid to start followed by their fish and chips. They make a really good G&T and my guest said the cider was very good. No hurry at all, we could keep the table until we were ready to leave. The pub bar was jam packed with Chelsea supporters and the private dining room was in full
use. Definitely would recommend and we will be returning.
A lovely warm atmosphere with interesting surroundings and gorgeous food, beautifully
prepared and our waitresses were, without exception, just the right amount of attention
and friendliness. An extremely enjoyable evening out.
Shame I couldn’t give six stars. Best roast beef I’ve ever had.
Food was excellent & service couldn’t b faulted , tad noisy upstairs, would of liked to have stayed longer upstairs but was nowhere to sit & was bit loud, & of course would of been perfect if James had popped in !
Great food. Great beer. Great venue. Will definitely return
Extremely slow service and once they finally serve the food nobody comes back to ask if anything else?..........
Pub classics cooked and presented with great flare. Fish and chips were excellent and the mash was very silky. Waldorf salad and parsnip soup both exquisite. Great beer too. Very cosy setting in quiet street, close to Chelsea football stadium. Very friendly and attentive staff. Good value for money. Would definitely go back.
A perfect New Year’s Eve. Impeccable, very friendly service, great food and a good mix of other customers
Delicious food, really friendly staff and a great seating space out back. Highly recommend this place for families as well as just adults later in the day.
Excellent! We keep returning as the food is always good and we are always so warmly welcomed, would definitely reccomend!
Nice decor and cosy. Food was very average, the chicken kiev lacked taste - very disappointing. Not what we was expecting after reading reviews. There are better pubs around the area.
Lovely relaxed warm atmosphere- amazing staff, lovely Finlay doggie - we loved it & felt very welcome xx
