   The first meal I had was good the second, Place an chips was horrible the, plaice was so small and the chips were greasy!

   Absolutely brilliant experience. Food was amazing, faultless and our waitress Lauren was superb. She was charming professional and her kindness to us made the evening special. We will be back when we next visit Chipping Norton.

   It was the second time I had dined at the Fox and I was not disappointed. Love the ambience and the service was exceptional. Felt special. I would unhesitatingly recommend it to friends.

   Unfortunately at 6.30 pm some dishes were already off the menu. The duck was mixed in with salad leaves which we didn't like. The lamb burger was OK but the coleslaw was tasteless. Service was excellent.

   We went for brunch & the food was lovely once it came! However we waited a really long time, which wouldn’t have been a problem if someone had acknowledged the wait or warned us! No apology afterwards either. I got the impression that the staff were potentially inexperienced so it was very difficult to know who the manager was. Food was lovely so it was a shame

   Stayed as went to Didly Squat farm which was a complete waste of time. Named very well as had DIDLY SQUAT in there after 25 minutes of waiting just to get inside. Lovely old pub and the room was lovely albeit right under the pub function room so was a bit noisy. Had a meal which was lovely but small portioned. By Christ they know how to charge. For what you got it was not worth the money. Would def stay there again just won’t visit the restaurant.

    The Fox is a really nice place for a meal or just for a drink. It serves local Hook Norton ales and simple, tasty food. The Sunday roast is substantial and really tasty with surprises like a roasted onion and sage puree which wasn't immediately apparent. Service was very friendly and prompt, prices reasonable.

    Above all, the food was great. I had the lamb Sunday roast and I can honestly say that it was the best piece of lamb I had ever eaten. The minus point is the same as many restaurants- once the main has been served, you tend to be forgotten.

    When I booked online I accidently only booked for two. I logged back in and changed the booking but the message had not got through to the hotel. The man behind the bar was very nice and helpful and changed the table immediately.

    Party of four, we had breakfast and dinner on a couple of days, whilst in Chipping Norton. Friendly and efficient staff, very clean restaurant and welcoming venue. Can’t praise the staff enough. Booking easy on “OpenTable”. Well done.

    Overall brilliant service, however the 2 young waiting staff didn't seem very cheerful, maybe a bad day as generally all are normally very friendly and smiley.

    Food was very good, & the pub as a whole is realy nice. It was a little quiet, but being a Monday in February after the year we've had that was understandable. Definitely a pub I would eat at again.

    We booked for a Valentine’s Day meal, when we arrived we were handed our menu, but after we had ordered and we’re half way through our meals other tables around us were being offered a special Valentine’s menu we just had the standard. We then spend the majority of the meal listening to the bar staff have a bi**c and a moan about their duty manager and the fact they heard kitchen staff talk s**t about them it’s not as if they were trying to be quiet about it. aswell as one of the girls constantly saying how hungry she was and she is ready to “stuff her face” (her words) so the overall the atmosphere was awful and the staff were not professional around customers and ruined what was suppose to be a lovely evening with the constant moaning.

    We went in for Sunday Lunch and enjoyed every bit of our experience. It was pouring with rain, and they had no issues letting us in a full 30 minutes before our reservation time and letting us just sit out of the rain, even though it was before they started serving food for the day. Our roast dinners were lovely (we had the lamb), and the Yorkshire puddings were massive! We would definitely return to The Fox if we are in Chipping Norton again.

    Lovely pub, one very nice young waitress, but the person that appeared to be in charge has no people skills , not made welcome , felt like we should not be there , asked to order by 11, this was brunch, we did this , very slow , the first person had finished by the time the last item was served, needs a lesson in how to welcome customers !

    Staff were friendly, but not really on the ball, and we had to keep going to find them to ask to be served, as we were in a hurry to get to the theatre. If they'd been quicker we might have had a dessert!
