Absolutely lovely all round, and surprisingly great value!
Good food, good service and just busy enough to feel comfortable.
Always good food when we come would recommend highly
Excellent service and food. Very thorough in ensuring our dietary requirements were met by carefully checking food allergies.
The welcome was very warm.
Menu had a wide selection including vegetarian options. When the food came it was well cooked beautifully presented and piping hot. We were very happy. Very nice watering hole indeed. Will definitely be back.
Excellent service, food and venue. Highly recommended.
Called ahead to say we'd be 10 minutes late as we were driving over an hour to dine at The Fox and I was told that was fine. On arrival, we were seated and told the kitchen was about to close so to get our orders in quickly, so we did. Shortly after, the less than inviting waitress told us the 'classics' menu was unavailable as the kitchen was closing and listed a limited set of items we were allowed to chose from. Coincidentally, the only items available were the most expensive on the menu. Needless to say, we left and dined down the road at a much more welcoming pub.
Food was outstanding , as was the service. Mollie was polite, engaging and couldn’t have been more helpful.
The choice of menu was adequate and the roast cotswold lamb was superb. The service was very good and staff were very accommodating. Excellent venue for eating out.
Excellent food with a very varied menu. Drinks also of a high standard. Lovely atmosphere. Staff very helpful and efficient.
I've always liked the Fox and the food has come on leaps and bounds recently with good pub classics. The burger was great, space and social distancing good, and it's great to see the place buzzy on a Tuesday evening.
Four of us ate here twice this week and all our meals were excellent, cooked to perfection. Service was also excellent and very friendly staff.
Absolutely smashing food and service, we will be back!
Food superb and staff are welcoming friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back
The staff at The Fox were very welcoming and friendly and found us a quiet corner table to sit with our dog. We both ordered roast Sunday lunches which were excellent - very generous portions and quality meat and veg. Massive Yorkshire puds! Tables were sanitised thoroughly between covers. Couldn’t ask for more.
The waiting on staff were very helpful and the food very good, although we had to wait quite a long time this was probably because everything was freshly cooked. I had the local sausages and bought some the next day from the local butcher who was a very nice man.
My husband had the steak which he enjoyed but we both agreed that the plates should have been hot.
Very dissappointed by The Fox, very overpriced for what is delivered. We both had just fish and chips plus a bottle of Malbec for £54.
Not very good food and room was very noisy. Certainly glad we found a better place to eat on our other nights in Chippie.
Loved our stay at The Fox Inn. Great food both at dinner and breakfast. Lovely room, very comfortable and cosy.
The food was creative and very enjoyable . Reasonable portion size too
Great ambience, and the food was reasonably good. Definitely a great pub, very eclectic and charming.
Beautiful Sunday lunch, delicious food - very good service
Great looking pub inside and out. Friendly welcome and pointed to a lovely big window table - much needed for our 3 year old! I had the full English breakfast…perfect. Partner and son had the pancakes, didn’t hear any complaints. Service was good all throughout. If we’re back in this neck of the woods then will definitely visit again.
Food good , beer wine good, service good. But noise from bar to bedrooms very bad that's why we have marked done the fox.
Great food and lovely environment. Friendly staff and great wine
A very enjoyable evening had dinning at The Fox, would highly recommend their roast dinners.
We came here for a roast dinner. The food was nice but the service was pretty slow and the staff were just talking to each other the whole time we were there. Think could be improved with some more attentive service.
We had a table for 4 people against a window, then a family of 5 was squeezed into a table of 4 next to us, when there was a table for 6 empty across from us. I was asked are you using this chair, I said yes as I didn't why sm the waitress was asking. To which both the waitress and the customer have me a dirty look. Half the tables were empty and I don't understand why you wouldn't put them on a bigger table, instead of trying to squeeze a high chair on there which would have caused an obstruction, fire safety at its best. The service was slow, no-one came to see if we wanted more drinks, we asked for triple cooked chips and got skin on fries, because you had run out. But no-one came to tell us this. The vegetables were almost raw, and your waitresses don't seem to to very friendly, except for the girl with long dark hair and glasses.
Brilliant Gluten free options. Friendly, welcoming staff, great recommendation on gin and food was very tasty.
We had a lovely meal at the Fox, all staff were very welcoming and polite and service was good. Would recommend.
Not exceptionally fantastic. But equally, absolutely fine for what we wanted. The room was pretty tiddly, but not uncomfortable. The food was ok (sausage and mash was a bit disappointing though). Breakfast was the highlight! Our visit coincided with the funfair which was set up pretty much on the doorstep outside - wouldn’t have been good if you’d wanted an early night, but actually not a problem noise wise in the end. I would visit again.
Good food but service was only basic and the menu options were very limited
Very nice and friendly staff, good service and food. Fair price.
We sat outside in one of the booths and the atmosphere was great.
The food couldn’t be faulted with really tasty smoked mackerel starters and mains of succulent rainbow trout & fennel main with beautiful dill butter and an excellent burger with fries & homemade slaw.
We really enjoyed our meal and would certainly recommend.
The food was very expensive for what it was, we had a burger each and three drinks each which amounted to £70!!! A glass of wine at £6.50 and £15.50 for a burger that really wasn’t anything special was steep! However, the staff were lovely, the atmosphere was nice and the pub itself was beautiful.
Well organised. Good food but some of the vegetables were too 'al dente'
Food was good and service was friendly and efficient!
Lovely food, fantastic service, would recommended to anyone
Lovely Sunday roast although the nut roast was freezing cold in the middle, which we did mention. We had to use our extra gravy to warm it up.
We would certainly have it again but will request more time for the nut roast to heat!
The rest of the meal was fab.
Friendly service. Delicous, fresh Sunday lunch
Great food, great service, staff are lovely. Very happy.
