Great food and lovely environment. Friendly staff and great wine
We had a table for 4 people against a window, then a family of 5 was squeezed into a table of 4 next to us, when there was a table for 6 empty across from us. I was asked are you using this chair, I said yes as I didn't why sm the waitress was asking. To which both the waitress and the customer have me a dirty look. Half the tables were empty and I don't understand why you wouldn't put them on a bigger table, instead of trying to squeeze a high chair on there which would have caused an obstruction, fire safety at its best. The service was slow, no-one came to see if we wanted more drinks, we asked for triple cooked chips and got skin on fries, because you had run out. But no-one came to tell us this. The vegetables were almost raw, and your waitresses don't seem to to very friendly, except for the girl with long dark hair and glasses.
Brilliant Gluten free options. Friendly, welcoming staff, great recommendation on gin and food was very tasty.
We had a lovely meal at the Fox, all staff were very welcoming and polite and service was good. Would recommend.
Not exceptionally fantastic. But equally, absolutely fine for what we wanted. The room was pretty tiddly, but not uncomfortable. The food was ok (sausage and mash was a bit disappointing though). Breakfast was the highlight! Our visit coincided with the funfair which was set up pretty much on the doorstep outside - wouldn’t have been good if you’d wanted an early night, but actually not a problem noise wise in the end. I would visit again.
Good food but service was only basic and the menu options were very limited
Very nice and friendly staff, good service and food. Fair price.
We sat outside in one of the booths and the atmosphere was great.
The food couldn’t be faulted with really tasty smoked mackerel starters and mains of succulent rainbow trout & fennel main with beautiful dill butter and an excellent burger with fries & homemade slaw.
We really enjoyed our meal and would certainly recommend.
The food was very expensive for what it was, we had a burger each and three drinks each which amounted to £70!!! A glass of wine at £6.50 and £15.50 for a burger that really wasn’t anything special was steep! However, the staff were lovely, the atmosphere was nice and the pub itself was beautiful.
Well organised. Good food but some of the vegetables were too 'al dente'
Food was good and service was friendly and efficient!
Lovely food, fantastic service, would recommended to anyone
Lovely Sunday roast although the nut roast was freezing cold in the middle, which we did mention. We had to use our extra gravy to warm it up.
We would certainly have it again but will request more time for the nut roast to heat!
The rest of the meal was fab.
Friendly service. Delicous, fresh Sunday lunch
Great food, great service, staff are lovely. Very happy.
Went for mums birthday and she loved it. It's as simple as that really 😊
Great find on our holiday- even tried to go back before we left!
I had the sausage and mash which was just enough for me. Food good, not rushed steady flow of customers pleasant staff
We booked this to ensure we had a meal after our long journey because we weren’t sure what rules were regarding covid etc - we were greeted warmly fifteen minutes early but our table was ready - really friendly staff and food was delicious
The food was excellent, the wine tasty, and because some berk was having a food festival nearby, it was easy to get a table. Sweet!
Great food and drink as ever! Attentive and pleasant staff
Excellent food and service. Well worth a visit with an excellent informal atmosphere.
Pre booked our table for four several a couple of weeks before arriving. Arrived at the Pub 10 minutes early and order for drinks and food taken in reasonable time. Drinks arrived promptly. After we were seated a party of 8 sat near to us and we overheard that they had pre-ordered food. After a while two plates of food were brought to the table for 8. The two plates of food were the same as my two friends had ordered. The net two plates were brought to the table for 8 and these were the same as the food my wife and I had ordered to alarm bells started to ring. The table for eight then asked where the rest of their main courses were and also their starters. At the this point we could see the two waitresses looking alarmed as they had obviously realised they had delivered our food to another table. After a period of time a waitress brought a plate of breads and dips as way of an apology. My friend was not happy with this and said that at least a free round of drinks was in order of compensation. They eventually complied with this request but then had to wait for new plates of food to be prepared. The food that arrived was OK apart for my chicken wrapped in ham which I thought was a little dry. On the whole a disappointing experience.
Can’t recommend The Fox enough, both the food and the service was fantastic from start to finish. Thank you so much, we will definitely visit again in the future x
Fabulous meal and service!! Will definately go back. Loved the booths in the garden too!
Enjoyed the food even more than last night. Staff excellent. Will definitely visit again if in the area.
Nice food, lovely staff and nice surroundings and location
Very good food , good service in a friendly pub good atmosphere and covid safe.
Just great apart from triple cooked chips, over cooked for me. Otherwise just an amazing experience as we were part of a wedding party.
Great Sunday roast!
Will definitely visit again.
Excellent in every way, lovely waiting staff too. Will definitely go back.
Sunday roast lunch tasted very fresh and the roast pork was tender. Only thought was the food on the plate looked a bit messy.
Had a very nice roast dinner for 7 people also one having burger .just a shame nobody liked the pudding choice so we didn’t have any overall very nice always enjoy the food here
The staff and food was amazing.
Thank you for looking after us on our special day.
Pleasant town-centre pub. Carpark. Modernised, but retains good pub ambiance.
Food was lovely, but very slow service. We had to wait about 50 minutes for our food to arrive.
Great food and good service. Vegetarian option was lovely. Would re visit.
Food was very tasty and there was plenty of choice on the menu. Ambience a bit lacking as it was late lunchtime and the place was pretty empty surprisingly.. but overall very nice and would recommend for a good lunch.
Food was nothing special for the price. Service was slow !!
Had to ask several times for the bill
Great food. Lovely atmosphere & excellent service
