The Fox Inn
Thx for a great evening
Great staff provided excellent service and a very good explanation of all courses.
Food was superb and beer well kept.
We will return!
40 minutes to deliver starters that shoukd have been prepped- especially given such a limited menu. Pate starter turned out to have same taste and consistency as chocolate mousse. Awful
Most had haddock for main course - with processed peas and chips. Not food enough
I clearly wasnt happy with the chocolate mousse starter. Charged anyway
Schoolboy error making unhappy customers pay for poor food
I wish you had noticed that your starter have not been charged. Your critic regarding the pate is quiet subjective, please in the future, take the time to read the menu to avoid disappointment. From the moment your entered the pub, you have had a rude and unexplainable attitude toward every member of the team. Still we did our duty profesionnally. Behind your screen, you continue to be unrespectful. Your guests were very nice, please thank them for us. Ps: Go easy on the ketchup ;-)
This was our 4th visit. Food as normal, exceptional but we had to wait for over an hour from our starters to our main course
By the time it arrived 2 if the table had lost their appetite
All decided we will have to rethink our Sunday lunch venues
Excellent food with a great ambiance and first rate service.
Delightful staff as ever
Great burger specials!
Continues to be an excellent lunch spot. Very welcoming and friendly. Attentive service and good food.
The food gets better and better at The Fox. Very good green leaves starter with nice dressing followed by enormous fish and chips. Definitely recommend.
Great service and ambience. Great for a night out it don't expect too much from the kitchen. Food not the best.
Food was quite nice and arrived promptly
Staff were friendly and reasonably efficient.
But parking was a bit of a nightmare
I had to park 150m away from the pub and it was pouring with rain.
First visit and what really welcomes you is the country style inn. You could tell the food was all prepped on site and the menu had a bit of imagination especially the desserts. It was a bit nosey in terms of hearing conversations on other tables but would visit again
Not great. Second time we’ve visited in the past month at the weekend and been told “we’re very busy so service will be slow - please bear with us because it’s the weekend.” Sadly other local pubs don’t have the same problem you’re encountering at weekends so we won’t be visiting again until the kitchen “hold up” problem, or shortage of staff issue, is resolved. We love eating with you, but a 3hr dinner for a table of 6 when we didn’t even have pudding does not make for a pleasant Saturday night out.
Dear Anonymous guest, Thank you for taking the time to review your experience. Thank you for your precious advices regarding our service we will surely learn from it. Three hours for a Saturday night dinner seems quiet a long , we do apologise for this. We confirm that the Fox is busy every week end, if you would prefer a quieter atmosphere and a more personalised service, feel free to visit us Monday to Thursday or to visit the other local pub you are mentioning in your comment. Best Thom
We enjoyed our lunch very much. Good food and ambience. Service started off good, but toward end of meal there seemed to be noone around to ask for the bill. But otherwise all good.
Wonderful delightful and delicious. A great experience!
We meet friends regularly at The Fox and it is always excellent. Lovely food, friendly service.
The Fox is always wonderful especially with the current management. So hospitable with fantastic service! Beautiful food and a good selection. Always buzzy.
Thank you so much for making our evening so special! I’m sorry we kept you so late! We had such a lovely time.
The Fox and was a fantastic find off the beaten Trail in the Cotswolds and we would definitely go back again.
The service was just as good as the food and the all-round experience was marvellous
Staff were welcoming, helpful and attentive. Sunday roast was very enjoyable and tasty. Would have liked vegetables to have been a bit more plentiful. Choice of starters and desserts was good. Would go back again.
We booked for Sunday Lunch. The pub was VERY busy when we arrived but we were seated without any real delay. There was a wait of 20mins for our food (main course only) which was acceptable and when it arrived, the food was excellent. However, the service was poor due to the pub being so busy. Got fed up waiting for somebody to come and take a dessert order so walked round to pay for meal. Service here is normally very good but the sheer number of people in the place meant that it was sorely lacking.
Very friendly staff, love the rustic but tasteful decoration. There is a gorgeous room for private parties. Food was very good indeed in terms of taste & presentation. Nice relaxed atmosphere which wasn’t too late. Dogs welcome. Lovely fire. Definitely recommend.
We enjoyed the evening tremendously with thoughtful and gentle service, delightful food and wine in a warm village pub atmosphere.
Oh my goodnes - go just for the twice baked souffle!
Always a good Sunday lunch but very slow service this time. We waited 25 mins between courses. Bit noticeable when you are only 2. But good food and reasonable value
We found that the main courses were not very hot, the plates did not seem very warm.
The noise level from the music was a bit high.
Friday lunch, only x3 on service so a little pressured.
Excellent food and service. The cheddar soufflé starter was to die for!We will be back soon.
New year eve. Family , early eve meal, lovely atmosphere very cosy . Good service. Only negative was the small choice of meals for New Year’s Eve.
6 choices plus steak. I chose the mushroom risotto which wasn’t the tastiest one I’ve ever had.
This is our go to restaurant for lunch or dinner when we are in the area and we are never disappointed. Great food and service make for an excellent Fi I f experience whatever the occasion. Would highly recommend.
Delicious food and outstanding, friendly, efficient service.
An overnight break from the festive activities. Excellent warm welcome from all of the staff, lovely ambience, and an excellent breakfast. Wonderful experience.
A really lovely pub. Food was very good and service very pleasant and friendly, although a touch slow at times.
All in all, happy to recommend and look forward to returning
My husband and I were visiting the UK for business and found this place in the Rick Steves' book. Service was wonderful and the food was generous and delicious.
Fabulous service as nothing was too much trouble especially for our Coeliac Mother in Law. Congrats Fox Inn team. Outstanding Bottle of Dame de Montrose too!!
We found the menu a bit limited and less inspiring than on previous visits, but that is probably down to it being a Sunday close to Christmas. Some game would have been a nice option bearing in mind the location. Service good, friendly and helpful.
Very warm ambience and welcoming staff. Just perfect for a cosy winter dinner.
Excellent Sunday lunch. Roast beef plentiful and cooked to perfection (nicely rare).
Lovely selection of desserts.
Service was prompt and attentive given how busy it was.
My favourite pub lunch. Full stop. Couldn’t recommend more.
The best roast beef we’ve ever had !
Lovely helpful staff
