The food was excellent tonight-new chef in the kitchen. Service and staff was efficient and friendly. Very pleasant experience.
The food was very good! Recommend the rack of lamb.
My Rump steak was tough and not at all nice.
Awful service. Food took too long. Was dry. No.
Good food, nice location and ambiance but bad service
The location and size of this lovely pub should make it a goldmine but sadly it fails in all the most important areas in particular the service and overall management. Overall the service was very slow and we weren't made to feel welcome. and half the food items were 'off' the menu meaning the kitchen ran out of food which is really unacceptable on a busy Saturday evening.
My last visit was approx. 8 months ago and I was dearly hoping that I would see an improvement but sadly I didn't. I won't plan another visit unless the restaurant undergoes drastic changes.
Beautiful pub , we were sitting in tbe garden and ordered bbq food .
Food was great and prices reasonable
Very nice atmosphere
We ate here last year and had an amazing meal. Unfortunately it seems the menu has changed since then as there were some great smaller dishes on the old menu. The new menu is more traditional and lack imagination which the old one did not. The food was average as was the service. It is a nice pub with a great outdoor area. I would not go back for the food but it is a nice place for a drink
Overpriced food very disappointing. Fish cakes were all potato and virtually no fish.
An easy going restaurant in this Hampstead pub. An enjoyable menu and wine selection with tables not being crammed together.
We sat in the bar for a relaxed, light, informal lunch. The food was tasty and there was a good choice. It was quite quiet with mostly yummy mummies
Just waaaaaaay too many noisy kids at lunchtime (and parents who felt the need to loudly ‘parent’, making sure we all heard their excellent negotiating skills. Very disturbing to others. We have kids who behave and don’t behave at times but no way would we let them disturb other families’ experiences.
The service was very slow we had to physically find someone to place our order. The kids meals were small portioned and the chips were over cooked. Our table was sandwiched in between two large group tables making it difficult to actually sit down comfortably.
Very pleasant meal
We went for Xmas eve lunch the 3 of us
All adults .
There food was over cooked
Tbe roasted veg with turkey was as soft as cotton. The fish was over fried . You could squeeze the oil out on the fish fill s spoon. The fries were soggy .
Then came the dessert two different menus
And when we ordered apple crumble and got apple and blueberry crumble instead !!
When questioned they said that it was a printing error !!!
Tbe othet dessert was pineapple tart with coconut ice cream and instead we got vanilla ice cream !!
At every few minutes we had to call the waitress for some error or another.
So instead of a warm fun family Christmas Eve lunch
It turned out to a frustrating experience .
Did not eat much so came back hungry instead of being festive and happy.
I am very disappointed and have wasted my money on a poor Xmas eve lunch
Zero gluten free options and i think they served a wrap with gluten in it for my meal
The food was a real surprise. We shared a number of starters and everything was very tasty. The prices are also very good. Unfortunately the service was poor and it took a long time for our food to arrive and the bill never arrived despite asking for it a number of times, in the end we paid at the bar. The tasty food makes it worth a visit
When we arrived for our 8pm booking, the staff informed us that they couldn’t locate our booking. They blamed Open Table who they claimed continued to take bookings even though the Freemasons Arms had told them they were fully booked. That said, they found us a table for 3 people 15 minutes later. Service was slow, but they were very busy. It was very cold in the bar and restaurant areas because every door was wide open. This would have been okay during the day, (it was a sunny day) but by 8.30pm it was cold inside and although the staff did shut a couple of doors when we requested it did not make for a pleasant dining experience. Shortly after we arrived a loud argument broke out between the restaurant staff and two customers who were sitting outside. When our food did eventually arrive my duck liver parfait was tiny and definitely nowhere worth £7.50 and my friends leek and potato soup was boiling hot and resembled sloppy baby food, really unappetising. My main course of venison was also an unacceptably small portion and I do not have a large appetite by any stretch. I have been to this gastro pub on a number of occasions and this is the second bad experience. Safe to say I will not be returning.
quickly It hasn't changed much since I last visited the Freemasons about ten years ago. This was a quiet night with both the restaurant and the pub mainly empty allowing the staff to be attentive and pleasant. The menu is small but has a good range of choices. The food was delivered quickly and hot when it arrived; it was well presented and tasty. The only negative point was the obvious upmarking of wine prices with few bottles below £40.
We enjoyed ourselves here, it is a reliable restaurant although getting pricier.
Very enjoyable Sunday lunch. I must mention the London Pride which was in top condition. Oddly they were not expecting us despite the Open Table booking. We were told that we were the 5th Open Table booking that day(at 1pm!) that had not been passed onto the pub! Although I found this hard to believe I am sure the person who said it thought they were being truthful. We got a table within 5 minutes anyway. Will happily go back.
They gave our table away because I was having difficulty walking that day so we arrived a little late. They didn’t call to check if we were on our way even though they they didn’t have another table for four hours. They were extremely unhelpful and completely embarrassed me in front of my guests.
Good simple residential pub with good views, lovely location and a large choice of a food menu
Lovely ambience, good food but very slow service and noisy
I always go there when I want to have a special evening. The dessert I had was fantastic. The staff is always friendly and professional. I look forward to returning there soon.
