Following the opening of The Frog E1 in 2016, chef Adam Handling has brought his high-octane flavours to Covent Garden for this all-day flagship

The 50-cover, two-floor dining room can seat up to 8 diners at the pass, while in the basement lies a speakeasy cocktail bar with its own street entrance. This bar also has its own kitchen and private dining room.

It was a taste explosion. We tried things we’d never tasted before- such revolutionary combinations. If you can, get a tasting menu. It’s really a journey. (Also, love the small touches like a special stool just for your handbag.) We will definitely be visiting again.

We had to ask for the £40 lunch menu as we were only given the more expensive menus
Wine was too warm, had to ask for more ice in bucket and also ask for the wine to be served. When informed wine was too warm very young waitress responded "well it's been in the bucket!"
White wine spritzer too warm had to request ice 3 times
Very noisy
Service lack luster, staff seemed generally disinterested, difficult to attract their attention
Food was good but bill for 4 for lunch came to £300 and with the noise level and feeble service I would not recommend it

Absolutely stunning. Imaginative, clean and delicious; a very modern use of some traditional ingredients (many sources at the restaurant's own farm) put together with confidence to deliver an exemplary dining experience.
Wine list comprehensive without being biblical. Great choices available.

Great food and a special experience. We had the vegetarian full tasting menu with paired wines. The food was tasty, inventive and filling. Without asking, the restaurant also gave us a small extra treat as it was a special occasion. Service was a little rushed at times as we only had the standard table slot (through no fault of our own) but it was nevertheless really good fun over a wide range of plates and with some great wines to match. 4.9 out of 5 overall! Thanks Frog :)

An absolutely superb evening - travelling to London for a week we were keen to find something truly special - elegant, yet creative. Adam’s ability to construct imaginative flavour and texture combinations with remarkable presentation was on full display as we enjoyed Adam’s tasting menu. The wine pairings further enhanced the meals and were both well considered and a little unusual - perfect. Overall the service was very attentive without ever feeling intrusive, and highly professional without being artificial. A brilliant evening and one we hope to enjoy on our next visit.

Exceptional! Stunning food, one of the best tasting menus I’ve had in London. Loved the cocktail pairing, worked really well and good value. A bit quiet at lunchtime, would love to go back in the evening. Eve’s bar downstairs is a little gem!

The food was very good, I liked the different combinations.
Service in the bar was excellent, however rather poor in the restaurant. I booked the table to celebrate my partners birthday which I did highlight numerous times to the restaurant. I would have expected at least a happy birthday from any staff member - nothing, no acknowledgement at all.
Overall the staff was very uninterested and just "doing their job"
Again, the food was delicious but overall a dissappointing experience.

I first experienced Adam Handling's cooking at Adam Handling at Caxton and then at the Frog E1. This is my second visit to The Frog in Covent Garden. The food is truly exciting, both from a combination of ingredients/tastes and visually. This time, we had the 5 course tasting menu (which also has two snacks and a pre-dessert course so is really more like 8 courses) rather than the 9 course tasting menu. Both are sensational. Highlights: the bread with chicken butter is rich and satisfying and really unusual. The asparagus with wild garlic (scape?) emulsion and cheese was outstanding. The barbecued mackerel had both sweet (maybe from apple or apple cider) and peppery tastes -- a very good combination. The crab, heirloom tomato and hake (I think) stack in a zingy broth was very good. The pre-desert course had an interesting ice cream and a layer of passion fruit was a great palate changer. And the deserts (one combining chocolate and peas and another with white beer ice cream, peaches, panne cotta and meringue) were exciting, especially the chocolate/pees.

I am am frequently in London on business (I travel around the North America, Europe and South America regularly, and to Asia occasionally). The Frog is my favorite restaurant in London and one of my favorites in the world. There are more refined restaurants but this restaurant is in-your-face exciting because of the chef's inventiveness. Eating at the Frog is just a lot of gastronomic fun.

What a fantastic culinary experience, presentation, flavours, theatre it was all perfect. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine. Each of the 5 courses of the tasting menu were presented by a different chef and explained in detail. The very kind birthday treat of an edible ice cream filled white chocolate candle was beautiful. Thank you To all at Frog for a memorable ladies birthday lunch. See you again.

We were limited to pre-theatre so didn't get to sample a full meal. I loved the novel Chicken Butter to accompany the wonderful sourdough bread. I have never had so much , but yet subtle flavor as in the asparagus appetizer. The gnocchi was not a ho-hum presentation either. Deep fried and lightly sauced to compliment the dish. Chef Handling's command of subtle flavor blending is a rare talent and I look forward to returning when in London again. I was so impressed that I bought Chef's cookbook and am enjoying it at home. A highly recommended experience. Next time a whole meal!

£160 for a two-course lunch - and one pudding as an afterthought - was not cheap but it was worth it! The food is quirky, original and never less than perfectly cooked. I would also recommend the highly original cocktails which are like the food inasmuch as some of the ingredients sound a little bizarre and the combinations left-field but the end results are memorable. I shall certainly be going back.

The food was over fussy with two many flavors competing with each other for our taste. However the presentation was impressive with clouds of dry ice and a tuna tartare that looked like a summer meadow.

Outstanding food but “difficult” / bordering on arrogance from waiting staff. Not quite at level of service one would expect in a high end restaurant and I would advise them to tone down the strut and try to focus on warmth and welcome to customers - less style and attitude, more substance and connection.

Meal ended with 45 minutes of looking at junior kitchen hands cleaning a kitchen, boxer shorts exposed, hanging off various bits of silver equipment whilst cleaning performing balancing acts. Was good to see pride and cleanliness - bad to see nuts, bolts and literal undercarriage of a kitchen. The noises staff made and activity actually slightly destroyed what was meant to be a quiet and romantic meal. Perhaps Less performance and again more focus on the customer experience.

Overall, food salvaged the experience and well worth it, but experience is a one off.

My friend and I had our 55th birthday celebration dinner at the Frog and were delighted by the superb team of staff, their welcoming and generous offers of engaging conversations. The food was beautifully presented and works of art that tantalize, tingle and explodes with flavours! Heartedly recommended for any celebratory occasion.

Visited the restaurant with a friend for lunch. We had the 8 course tasting menu with the pairing wines. It was absolutely fabulous! We regularly go for a tasting menu but this is the first one in a while that got our tastebuds truly excited. Courses were served by staff who had prepared the food so they could explain the dishes really well. The wine waiter/ sommelier was excellent. Really passionate about the wines and described perfectly how they would match the food. A great experience, would definately recommend.

Creative and tasty food in a smart, relaxed environment. Each plate is presented by a different cook/waiter, who is supposedly responsible for it, so you feel they have ‘skin in the game’. The personnel was extremely nice and could easily accomodate my wife’s gluten-free preferences. The wine list includes many interesting, not obvious options. We enjoyed a lot the 5 courses set menu, reasonably priced. Overall, a very satisfying experience.

Wow! I have to honestly say, this experience and meal met all my excited expectations. The food was so tasty and expertly executed! Each dish was more beautiful than the last, and timing of the everything was spot on. The ambience is chic yet simple, and contemporary. The open kitchen allowed you to see the kitchen/chefs act in unison, a well-oiled machine. You can see how serious they take their jobs, but also enjoy it thoroughly. There are counter seats that you can sit at and face the Chef/open kitchen (like a sushi bar), which I thought was neat.

A lot of effort goes into this experience on the restaurants behalf: the presentation, quality, and attention to detail in the food; the impeccable service and timing of everything we ordered (all the staff worked together, we probably had interactions with half of their staff as chefs, managers, servers, etc. came to our table to assist us at one point during the meal. There was always a watchful eye on our table to make sure our needs were met, but it did not feel intrusive in any way); the decor and interior design was of top notch quality. Everything was done so very professionally. The restaurant is definitely a higher end experience, but its approachable enough to where you probably aren't going to feel uncomfortable if you are not used to dining in such a setting.

My boyfriend and I went here for their pre-fixe 3-course tasting menu, the pre-theater option that starts at 17:30 hrs. It was an excellent value in our opinion. I think our total bill for (2) people was around 180 eu. We planned for this to be a fancy night out in London before we saw a play, and expected to pay a decent amount, so we actually felt that the value was rather high at that price. This included a starter, entree, and dessert for each of us. They also provided bread for the table, and petite fours with our coffee after dinner, in addition to the desserts we each got. We also ordered (6) cocktails in total. Highly recommended!

All I can say is WOW, probably one of the best meals I have had in London, all get 5 star except for value even though I did hesitate as I would go back knowing the cost but it was very expensive.
We had the special tasting menu and wine paring..... the whole experience was amazing, the food preparation and display was beautiful. staff attentive but not over powering, when each course was delivered they explained in detail with such passion about what they had prepared.

We had a cocktail in Eve's Bar below the restaurant before dinner and that was also a great experience, bartender was again passionate about what he was making and wanted to explain in great detail.... I have changed my mind on whiskey cocktails and will definitely be returning there.

all in all excellent and could not promote it more but you need to be prepared for the paper at the end that tells you the cost :-)

Service was excellent a special thanks to the drinks water his knowledge of the wines and the recommendations given were first class. The food itself from the FT Weekend Laurent-Perrier Summer Menu was again first class. Excellently presented with care and attention to detail, a specticle of amazing well thought out dishes rich in taste and quality. Quite frankly a MUST for friends, partners wishing to please all tastes and pallets. I/we will definatley be back.

An utterly amazing meal - the small menu doesn’t give you much indication as to what will arrive on your plate, but that adds to the intrigue and excitement when it arrives. Adam and team deliver such an adventure on the plate. I really recommend. Get there early for your and pop down to the bar for a cocktail.

We had a fabulous evening in Frog by Adam handling. The food and the service were outstanding! We took the tasting menu and loved absolutely every thing on it, the food is very well preserved, super tasty and varied!

we also really appreciated that when we asked advices for wine they helped us to find a delicious red wine below 40£!
