Great food, stellar service. We were in the area for a week tending to some family business and dined at the Gables on four evenings. The entrees were varied and well presented and Mindy and Chey took great care of us throughout our stay. Try the Gables when you’re in the area... you won’t be disappointed.
Great atmosphere! Perfect for any occasion or just a date night.
Great outdoor experience; will definitely be returning!
Went for lunch and had the California chicken sandwich and taco trio. Food was really good and recommended both. Server Nick was awesome. I would definitely go back!
Excellent evening at The Gables. Service, ambiance, and food were all outstanding. The food was so fresh, with many ingredients from their garden. I was worried it might be too hot on the covered patio but it was not at all and the setting is so lovely with flowers, stone walls, and other rustic touches. Our server was Gretchen and she was wonderful. We also loved the live music which was just right, not too loud. I can’t wait to go back.
This was our first time out during COVID and it didn't disappoint. They had a lovely tent set up and plenty of space between tables. A man was there playing live music and the food and service were great. I'd highly recommend going during COVID or anytime!
We wore our masks until we sat down at our table. We sat out in the courtyard, very nice evening, other tables were spaced out and our waitress wore a mask, food and service was excellent, will be going back.
The service was good , all staff members were pleasant and friendly. Our food was good but served less than warm. Which was frustrating because the pork chops were our second choice after the bone-in NY Strip was unavailable 5:30 on a Tuesday. Oh well COVID is disrupting everything. We still enjoyed ourselves.
Met up with friends we had not seen in a long while due to the virus. Reserved an outside table, there was no wait, social distancing and mask requirements were observed. Decent wine list, great appetizers and the fish was excellent.
Great brunch outside, BYzoB
Food was excellent and the outdoor dining with live music was great. Tables were well spaced for social distancing.
Philip did a nice job. Brussel Sprouts and Green Fried Tomatoes were outstanding.
The garden at The Gables is so idyllic. The menu was fantastic and they had a guitar player to boot. It was such a great evening. Our Server was fantastic, as well.
Excellent outdoor dining and great service.
Food and staff were wonderful. Outside was a little warm, but otherwise it was great!
We have visited this establishment before, unfortunately this time the food was subpar. The cold soup was awful, pork chops were over cooked and difficult to swallow, salmon was fishy. Will not return.
There patio seating is excellent, and their are handling the current COVID related restrictions particularly well.
Food was very good, priced right. Restaurant did a great job with social distancing and their protocol for dining made you feel very comfortable and safe.
The staff was very friendly and attentive as well. We will definitely go back
Such a pleasure!!! It was so refreshing to sit outside on a beautiful evening in this little paradise. The wait staff could not have been more professional and sanitary. The food was delicious and they even had live music. We'll be back soon. Thanks
Thank you dinner for friends. Nick, our server, was wonderful!
First time out in 15 weeks! It was awesome. Nick is a fantastic waiter:)
Very nice place. Great food, service was excellent. Very pretty!
Great ambiance on back patio, attentive waitress, and delicious food!
Fabulous evening out and felt very safe with Covid 19 precautions being very well thought out and implemented! Shrimp and grits the best!
Great food, great atmosphere, great service, and great music to boot!
The Gables did a great job in setting up the restaurant outdoor seating to comply with our new social distancing normal. Great food and great service!
They adapted well to the outdoor dining only issues. There was plenty of space. They even had live music on Friday. They have tents set up. Staff was attentive and wonderful. Food was amazing as always. Little pricey but so is almost every place in the area. Love going to the Gables. Great place to enjoy time out.
Everything was perfect! Great food! Enjoyed Jack Marshall music. So nice to get out!! And I felt very safe from the virus.
Sadly both dishes were disappointing. I got the short ribs which were dry/overcooked. My husband got the 14 ounce ribeye which was a thin cut steak and didn’t have a lot of flavor. We almost wondered if it had been previously frozen. We’ve been here in the past, mostly eating at the bar and have enjoyed our meals. I would have thought, with a limited menu we would be getting the best of the best. This meal felt like they were cleaning out the cupboard. We did get 2 apps (the Brussels sprouts and fried green tomatoes) which were delicious.
Excellent location and very good outside dining area. Nice atmosphere and good food. I highly recommend it.
Our family of 5 including myself, husband, adult daughter and 2 children, ages 17 and 12, had dinner here on Tuesday evening. Our table for 5 people was a bit small but we were happy to be out. This was our first dinner out together as a family since the Covid Lockdown status was eased. This was also our first time at The Gables. All of the staff were excellent and super friendly. They took our temperature before entering and advised to wear a mask until we were sat. A mask was also needed to use the indoor lavatory facilities. Nice wine list and menu. Four out of our five ordered filet, medium, and only one came out perfectly medium. The other three were mostly medium-well, much to the chagrin of our 12 year old, the new steak connoisseur. I had the scallops which were delicious. We also shared some appetizers at the onset which were all great as well. Cheese plate, fried green tomatoes, tuna tartare and Caesar Salad. Also sampled a couple different wines and split a bottle. I think it’s a place more suited for adults and/ or families with older children. There were more than a few tables of couples who seemed to be on date night. It’s a nice place. I would definitely come back, maybe on a date night with the hubs next time!
The food, drinks, service and atmosphere were top notch! The hostess was a little abrupt when we first arrived. Overall a very pleasant, relaxing, and enjoyable experience.
First night out after the Corona-pocalyspe. Beautiful. Try the pork chop!
I had been to The Gables for Dinner and Lecture before and wanted to try the Brunch. We were greeted by Carol Lowe and seated, our server Nick was very knowledgeable about the menu and explained how the Brunch menu worked. He was friendly and courteous,he didn't hover and was attentive to when we needed something. At the buffet,Carson made great omelets.Nice selection of food and the fruit was very fresh.
A nice place for a special meal or just a quiet bite.
The food was delicious. Our server Phil was the best!
Neighborhood no-frills place that accommodates nice weather with outdoor seating, or cold nights with seating near the gas log fireplace in the main dining room. Professional staff delivers simple crowd-pleasing dishes from the kitchen, and a live pianist is there on occasion to bang-out familiar tunes.
The Diver scallops were wonderful. They were perfectly seared . The risotto was creamy and delicious.
The waiter was attentive and helpful .
Amazing food! Mindi is our favorite!!
Nice evening with the piano music in the background!
Great! Loved the service and the food!
