I love Stanton Manor, its where I got married and just love the setting and ambience. it looks stylish and well decorated and the food is lovely. Don’t expect big portions as its a ‘fine dining’ place but that suits me as I don’t like big portions, I would rather quality over quantity. The service was pretty slow on this occasion unfortunately though as there was a party on in the function room so the staff were busy looking after the guests in there. They could probably do with an extra ‘body’ at such times so that there is enough cover for the restaurant and bar, but of course in these ‘covid’ times it is common to have staff shortages. Staff were friendly and polite though.
Very good food, lovely service, we were looked after very well.
Food was very good but service was not great. (One waitress was ok but the other was poor)
Ambience of the dining wood was stark and not in keeping with the the romantic nature of the historic building.
Wine was just dumped on table without being opened.
When I asked for the bill I was initially just offered a card machine with a total on it. I had to ask to see the break down.
G&T arrived with no garnish (eg lemon slice ) in it.
Table was very unstable and I had to wedge it myself
Overall: service let down the excellent chef. Mostly easy things to fix though
The food was very nice but the restaurant and garden lacked ambiance and atmosphere.
Staff very polite, the young waitress tried really hard to keep on top of everything but overall they seemed short staffed.
Not enough time to clean tables and clean up used cigarettes off the floor.
An extra pair of hands would have been useful, along with a little light music.
I'm sure in future this could be a little gem.
We came to Stanton Manor for our wedding anniversary. It is a great setting with very good food. We had the choice to sit inside or outside, we chose outside which was a great setting for dinner. I would like to call out the excellent service we received from the two members of staff working in the restaurant we also received a dessert for our anniversary which was a great touch. I would recommend to a friend.
Fabulous food, friendly and professional staff. Good value and exceptional service!
Fabulous food. Unfortunately they had run out of brûlée and cheesecake but the Bakewell Tart with cherry ice cream was just as delicious. Def recommend staying here or just stopping by to have dinner. Will def be going back!
I have sent email to hotel everything was excellent all round
A vey nice meal with excellent and attentive service
Lovely food a bit over priced for what it was good service lovely place
Excellent quality of food and very good and friendly service. We ate lunch which was excellent
Friendly efficient service in very comfortable and impressive rooms. Excellent table spacing and generally felt very covid-safe. Food was sadly average and consequently felt pricey: the basics were well cooked and presented (steak cooked as requested and chips, fish and chips, chicken liver parfait) but more complex dishes felt overcomplicated or incorrectly balanced (confit duck leg overwhelmed by chorizo, buddha bowl lacking in zip). The red mullet starter was especially good though. The house red wine is first class.
A great dining experience. The Dining room was comfortably warm, quiet and enhanced by subtle background music. I was impressed with the variety of options on the menu which thankfully catered for Vegans. The table service was efficient and friendly! The food was brought to the table in a timely manner and served hot. The offering of cucumber to accompany the Hendricks deserves credit! Overall a very enjoyable dining experience.
Afternoon tea was lovely, but dinner not good value for the price
The services was excellent and the hotel accommodated my specific dietary needs easily. There was an enticing range of dishes to suit most tastes and portion sizes spot on. I really enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and they took ever care to make sure that our needs were met. I also liked that thye were @dog friendly@ even though I didn't take myown it was lovely to see that other dog owners were completely at ease to bring theirs with them. HIghly recommend the restaurant and the hotel.
We booked Afternoon Tea, it took over an hour and two complaints for the food to arrive. The only saving grace was the girl at reception who was very apologetic and gave a full refund.
