Great service and the quality of the food was very good. Covid-19 safe and this place can only grow.
Great cosy pub with a lovely atmosphere and a lot of options for those with dietary restrictions. I would highly recommend!
lovely food, friendly service and great value. Already booked for another lunch date
First time here and really enjoyed it,we had booked outside but weather made us go inside and that was no trouble, great friendly service ,lovely food and in this current corona virus time, all systems in place for care of both customers and staff.
Will definitely be coming back,to sample more of the menu and just enjoy a great venue to catch up with friends.
Excellent service in lovely surroundings & a fantastic menu.
Tasty food that was all very fresh and vegan friendly, nice variety of wines and cocktails and very friendly staff. Warm and cosy for a relaxing meal on a cold day.
Lovely place to eat. The service was faultless and staff were more than happy to help and very attentive. The menu is slightly limited as there was only two choices for starters, two for dessert with around six or seven mains. The cocktail list was amazing and there was plenty drink wise to cater for all. The place looked clean and tidy with comfortable furniture. I would definitely recommend.
No track and trace ? Dirty wine glass
Not a good start ., starters sent back heavily dosed in vinegar .
Main course pasta very nice .
Run out of Sauvignon blanc
Just did not feel very Covid safe
The man behind us (not even a metre away sneezed over us just before we left .
Overall a disappointing dining
A great selection of amazing veggie dishes in a cool little restaurant. Helpful waiters and nice music. We had a scummy risotto and a Portuguese stew, both amazing.
Sat by a beautiful lit fireplace in this cosy little establishment, the decor was tasteful and the service from the wait staff was polite and attentive. The malbec was sublime and the food that followed was the best vegetarian food me and my wife have had. Overall we couldn't fault it.
Lovely lunch in a quiet garden. Food good service good, nothing to complain about, my second visit will be back. My friend also enjoyed the hidden Gem.
Came here for my mums birthday. We were sat on a table by the fire which was really lovely. The food was nicely presented and tasted nice- the chocolate torte was an especially delicious addition. Really enjoyed it and our waitress Tara was really lovely too!
Great relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff. The food was absolutely delicious, really fresh and flavorful. Nice cocktails and good wine list.
They brought us the wrong food out, something that we didn't order, and when we said that it was incorrect they dint seem apologetic. They just said we could either have what they gave us or wait for them to make the correct order. (We went for taking the mistake, which they charged us full price for. We didn't leave a tip)
Very disappointed. After such a promising review in the local rag it missed on so many fronts. It is not often your pre dinner drink arrives after dinner has arrived. It is not often that with food (tapas) having arrived you need go and find someone to bring you plates to eat off. It is not normal for a Campari and soda to be next to clear in colour. The tapas itself was very ordinary in flavour. Lastly the gents toilets were a long way from acceptable on a COVID front.
This little gem is tucked away but a fabulous find. The menu is beautifully short yet the decision is still hard as the food all sounded amazing. We had a fantastic meal and would definitely recommend here.
We hadn't realised it was vegan which wasn't a problem other than the curse of Vegan Cheese. Otherwise nice setting with good service.
Overall a very nice evening. Service was a little slow even though they weren't very busy, it seemed as though perhaps they may have had a temporary staffing problem. That said, staff were very attentive and the food is excellent.
What a great addition to Norwich's vegan food scene! A stylish pub/restaurant on the edge of the city centre, that just happens to serve plant based food. The menu was well thought out, with a selection of starters, mains, desserts and tapas options. We were pleased to see that they had avoided meat alternatives (like the 'Incredible' burger) and opted instead for beautifully cooked dishes that were naturally vegan without the need for meat substitutes. Friendly, professional staff were welcoming and communicated well despite being busy. Between us, my husband and I had some tapas dishes, pasta, and chocolate torte for dessert. Our only criticism is that the pasta main was a bit on the small side for a £12 main...however, everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and we are looking forward to making The Gatherers a regular stop for a treat night out.
Risotto rice hard and tasteless
Overall not great
We had an excellent meal served to us by friendly efficient staff. The venue is fantastic and had a warm vibrant atmosphere. We'll definitely be returning and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Great food, wonderful staff and good value for money.
A great place for dinner, one of my new favourites!
I hate leaving negative reviews, but this wasn't the best experience tbh. It started so well and by the end of the meal, I was disappointed. It could have been amazing, but the service was really poor, lack of attention to detail e.g. our empty glasses were not taken away when they refreshed our drinks - you could say that's picky but the table was quite small so it all started to get crowded. The waiter put a napkin in a wet patch on the table but still put knife and fork on it as the wet stain was gradually spreading and I suppose the thing that sealed it for me was when I asked for salt I was given a little dish which had clearly been used by another diner (finger print marks) which is gross, especially in these times. Once the waitress replaced the salt with a covid friendly dispenser the food tasted a lot better. The drinks were great though. Sorry for leaving such a rubbish review, but it's only because I want the place to get better as it was a great atmosphere and close to home!
Nice to have another plant based restaurant in the city.
This was the first time we’d visited The Gatherers. The ambience was lovely, with an open fire which made the place feel cosy on a drab day.
They had a delivery mishap so some items were missing from their menu. Despite this, we had a lovely meal. The mains were better than the dessert but perhaps that was due to the delivery. We hope next time we visit we’ll be able to choose from the full menu.
The food we did have was tasty and the drinks were very nice too. We will be going back for more. 😀🌱
We went for our anniversary and order a few tapas and a main to share. After trying the tapas we asked our waitress, who was really lovely, to not bring the main as we were not enjoying our food at all. The taste was overall bad, they claim to have homemade bread and it was clearly supermarket bought, and the chips sauce "bravas" was inedible. We won't recommend it at all.
Lovely, friendly team.
Fabulous food, beautifully presented.
My initial thought was my portion looked smaller than I was expecting, BUT it was just the right amount. 😊
First time visiting. Such lovey atmosphere. Really relaxed, good vibes. Great area outside. Staff super friendly and lovely. We ordered a number of dishes off the tapas menu, really tasty. Will be going again at some point for sure.
A very welcome addition to vegan offering in Norwich. The staff were very friendly and helpful and our meals were delicious. There was a quiet and calm atmosphere in the restaurant.
Straightforward booking system Nice variety of dishes, excellent eating. Wide choice to drink too, in fact most outdoor customers were only drinking. We will be back as long as the evenings are clement. Maybe the Gatherers should consider awnings and heaters, like the William & Florence use? Keep on gathering those nice ingredients!
Great place lovely area , the pub had been sensitivity redecorated and has a welcoming feel to it
Id like to see a bit more on the menu.
More full meals, rather than just pasta or risotto etc.
The food itself was very good though and so was the service and overall experience.
I've been three times recently, meeting up with family members who like healthy vegetarian food. We have really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere for lunch out close to home.
The Gatherers was a lovely venue for a mid-week meal. There were plenty of veggie and vegan options which were tasty albeit a little bit small in terms of portion size.
The staff were happy to recommend things from the drinks and food menus and helped us make super choices.
It's a shame it was pouring down with rain when we visited but we did take a risk booking a table outside. It would be good if the pub had more umbrellas for outside tables.
We did not enjoy our experience at all.
Firstly, we were seated a long time before anyone came to take our order...& then that was only after we’d alerted staff we weren’t invisible! We ordered olives with cocktails to begin with....& the olives only put in an appearance with the main course, way after the cocktails were done with!
The main course - paella- was, at best, mediocre: relatively bland and non-descript. Sadly, the service was poor throughout- as was the ambience- and the toilet facilities left much to be desired.
Some years ago this used to be our ‘local’;( fab tapas). It’s the first time we’ve visited since, and although we may just have hit an ‘off night’, we will not be visiting again.
Very disappointing. Food dull, Ratatuille largely tomato paste and Paella just a portion of orange rice with a few chunks of red and green pepper, no variety of flavour within the dishes. We ate outside and the canopy was too small to keep off the rain. The waitress was very pleasant but had not been properly trained so we had to remind her that we needed cutlery, and then salt. No other condiments were offered and the salt came in a little dish that we had to put our fingers in, no spoon. We were required to pay in full in advance and no itemised bill was offered, or given, and not even a till receipt from the card machine. Not a single person in the bar part wore a Covid mask neither customers nor staff, and the staff took the orders and operated the card machine well outside the perpex screen which was therfore pointless. And to cap it all they did not give the Eat Out to Help Out discount, though I bet they claimed it from the government! Nothing matched up to the pictures on the website, I now wished we'd taken pictures ourselves. All in all a bit of a rip-off. I would actively dissuade a friend!
This was a great place to eat, food was excellent, staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend whether you are vegan or not ! Ps the desserts were amazing ! :)
Lovely place to have a chilled out evening. Staff were great, food was delicious, great wine selection. So nice to have a menu that vegetarian as well as Vegan options.
Food (which was our main reason for attending) was fab! Tasty, filling and just a pleasure to eat!
Servers were perhaps a little too attentive, could have had a bit less of the “How is everything for you?”
A very pleasant evening. Tasty food and pretty good service. Portions could have been slightly bigger or some advice on getting a side before kitchen closed would have been good.
Our booking was slightly later and some choices unavailable.
