   Finding it hard to believe that if you ask to remove the cheese from the burger you’ll get charged £2! Waitress also charged the gratuity without asking first, poor service. Such a shame as the setting is incredible

   The service was excellent. The rice dishes were delicious. The tomato starter was delicious. The nicoise salad was not the best as it was too cold and the tuna and potatoes were tasteless. I would definitely go back though. Loved it.

   Really sloppy and poor value Vegan choices. They state they have lots of Vegan options. What they mean is that they take the non Vegan component out of a few dishes, for example removing the crab from the crab and tomato salad, add nothing else in, and charge you full price. Really poor. Really sloppy. Such a shame as everything else was great

   We were recommended the George and had a lovely time. We were on our own inside as it was full on the Terrace so there wasn't much atmosphere, and one of the senior waiting staff was a bit snooty. But negatives over, the food was very good, it was lovely to be able to buy Bollinger Rosé by the glass, hubby liked his bottle of craft ale, and we will probably be back as long as it's on the Terrace

   Excellent Food and Service. Appreciated that sun umbrellas were available on such a scorching day. Lovely, varied menu. The lemon sole is always excellent. The steak too with its special touches of soufflé style bernaise, and the parmesan dressing & crouton topped baby gem garnish - delicious. Fabulous attention to detail, including hot plates, and even the metal containers the fries came in were also pre-heated. It made all the difference. Shame that the other fish dish and fish special were only sharing plates...and moreover that there weren't other grilled seafood dishes on the menu, e.g. prawns, sardines, mackerel etc - which are always a draw and great for outside dining, in Summer, when at the coast. Also, shame that the bread to order for the Tzatsiki and Baba Ganoush was apparently just standard bread, rather than Med./Middle Eastern style pitta or flat bread or similar relevant dipping bread, so sadly alas didn't order. However the mozzarella& tapenade and the tuna tartare starters were much enjoyed.

   Lovely food and very relaxed ambiance in the garden spoilt only slightly by the choice of background music. The service was both friendly and efficient. A very enjoyable experience.

   Highly recommended. We sat outside on the beachfront with lovely views. Food and drink was perfect (recommend the lychee cooler!). Will definitely be coming back.

   Tis where we had lunch a year ago when we decided we were going to live on the island. One of our daughters, visiting from London, said that you could see why. When the weather is good this venue is hard to beat. Prestigious but not pretentious. Food is simple but tasty and well presented. Service is friendly and courteous without being overbearing. Will return. Can recommend the lamb shoulder for 2 and the monkfish. If I had a suggestion for improvement it would be a better selection of moderately priced white wines. Can recommend the Albarino though 👍

    Good classic food, nice setting but terrible service, st least in the terrace where we’ve had dinner. Obvious lack of experience and professional waitresses and waiters: no basic skills, not friendly.

    Unfortunately we had to wait 30 mins for our wine, obviously forgotten. We ordered pizza’s in the garden and one of our party was given one not ordered. They replaced it, but 3 were eating while the other person had to wait. When pizza arrived it was much better than ours, so probably worth the wait.!! Overall we had a good evening .

    We had lunch outside for my mother in law’s 70th birthday. The last time we were here about 4 years ago it was wonderful. This time the atmosphere was spoilt by irritating loud bass thumping music. I asked for the volume to be turned down and the staff said they weren’t allowed. Such a great shame. Also you say you have a smart casual dress code but you let a group in wearing cycling attire. The menu is pricey as it’s supposed to be fine dining but then you sell cheap pizzas. I think you need to decide what market your aiming for. My main course which was pasta with just 2 king prawns was very poor value for £33. For that price I expect more prawns. We won’t be returning.

    We have been going to the George for some thirty years. This time the experience was underwhelming and the food overpriced. Not sure what market they now think that they are aiming at. We advised them when booking that one guest was gluten free but it was only after we had ordered that the maitre d advised that the dish contained gluten but offered no alternative. The sole was twice the price that we had paid in another restaurant on the Island the previous day. We will not be going back!

    We were initially on a table outside that wasn’t near the water or in the sun. The amazing David assured with moving us to the best table outside, he was very helpful and it meant our time was much more enjoyable due to being right on the waterfront. Thankyou for wonderful service and food.

    Food was excellent. Service was also excellent and very accommodating, especially given our table size of ten and the inconsistent weather! Definitely recommend as easy to moor in Yarmouth if coming by too.

    Really excellent roast beef Sunday lunch. A bit expensive but really fantastic food, excellent service and a view on a beautiful sunny day of the Solent. Not much better way to have lunch
