We had a lovely time and enjoyed each course immensely. Service was wonderful; friendly and formal at the same time. It was a fine dining experience par excellence.

Fantastic food and lovely staff. One issue which was a shame was our dessert order wasn't put through. We waited 45 minutes for dessert and had to rush as we had pre ordered a taxi. I hope this was just a one off thing. It would not put me off returning as the food and everything else was excellent.

Food was excellent, we went for lunch on a Saturday and between us we had the galantine of game and steak tartare starters, and the salmon and guinea-fowl mains, all outstanding. I know we hasn't gone there for this but the chips were sensational! We had also booked for a tour of the old Robert Burns rooms, due to a glitch in the online booking system it had booked us in for a day there weren't supposed to be any tours, so of course we arrived for our tour and there was no guide. No problem, one of the staff was sufficiently knowledgeable to take the tour herself, we wouldn't have known that she wasn't the official tour guide - well done that girl!

Excellent food, beautifully presented. Great ambience, enhanced by the history of the location. Attentive staff. Knowledgeable staff regarding food provenance and regarding wines (should you wish these yo be served).

We go quite regularly to the Globe but this time we took out teenage grandson who is lactose intolerant and they coped wonderfully and he had as great and evening as we did.

We have been served very well, the waitresses were very friendly, the food was excellent and nicely presented. We very much appreciated the amuse-bouches and afters, not on the menu, which were outstanding as well. We particularily appreciated the short tour to see Mrs Hyslop's Kitchen and Robert Burns' Dining Room. It was an experience we will like to remember. So, we can only recommend warmly the restaurant to anyone who passes by or stay in the region of Dumfries.

My son’s birthday dinner was made memorable by the outstanding service and food. We will certainly return for another celebratory meal.
