   The food quality was excellent, the attentiveness from the staff was good, but we struggled to understand and hear the waitress as she described the food. Wasn't helped by one very loud man that never shut up or let anyone else get a word in edgeways! Not the fault of the restaurant, but it impacted our experience. We would definitely recommend and also go back.

   Lovely food at a reasonable price. Nice ambience and intimate environment. Excellent service without being intrusive . Good wine menu and choice of cocktails.

   The Globe is an absolute gem - relaxed and comfortable atmosphere- competent and knowledgeable staff delivering some fantastic food at realistic prices. Can’t wait to go back!

   Attentive staff but not overly so, with a lovely manner and great service. The food presentation was lovely and tasted wonderful. Time between courses, just right. One tiny negative, we chose to eat on the ground floor and were seated at a table just as you enter the restaurant area. The top two tables, although screened off, are positioned by the serving hatch on one side and desk area on the other. Obviously more hustle and bustle in these areas. Those tables maybe more suited to groups rather than couples. This did not detract too much on the ambience and experience and we will definitely be back.

   Whilst food was good and service attentive I was disappointed that a meal on Burn’s Night at The Globe Inn, in the bards hometown, did not do more to make it a memorable Burns Night for all diners. The diners downstairs were entertained with pipers and poetry reading, but those in the room upstairs, paying the same price, sat in silence in a library like room. It would have been a nice touch to give every diner on Burns Night a full Burns experience.

We understand your disappointment, the Burns Night celebration downstairs was a specially ticketed event. This event sold out and, due to its popularity and the nature of the performances, was contained within the downstairs area. We always try to offer a variety of experiences to cater to different preferences, and we do regret that on this occasion, the non-event dining experience did not meet your expectations for a Burns Night.    Our first - and hopefully not last - visit to The Globe was a great experience. We had the 4-course Burns Week set lunch menu which was excellent from start to finish and good value given the high standard of food and the professional and friendly service.
