Situated in the heart of Hawarden village, The Glynne Arms is a 200 year old traditional coaching inn which has recently undergone a complete restoration inside and out, bringing it back to life.

Our private room upstairs is the perfect venue for your event be it a wedding, party, funeral wake, meeting or conference. We have several private rooms and areas in the pub for you to choose from. Our main Gladstone Room is a large, beautifully light and airy room with views overlooking the castle gates at the centre of Hawarden. It is decorated in a wonderful vintage style, and we encourage guests to add their own theme or decorations for their wedding or party. Really enjoyed our meal at The Glynne Arms good menu and food delicious with excellent portions. Staff were absolutely brilliant very friendly helpful. Atmosphere was great too had a really lovely friendly vibe and the fact that pets are welcome was great. Definitely recommend just wish we lived closer but if we are in the area again will definitely go to The Glynne Arms. Thank you to staff especially Charlotte.

We dined here two nights. The first one they had a limited menu (it was a Tuesday) but it was perfectly fine. The second night they had a full menu and the choices were terrific. I never had a celeriac burger before and I loved it. The fries are particularly delicious. And in both cases the service was wonderful.

Unusually slow service on drinks. Waited 15 minutes before our drinks were served. Food order was only taken once drinks arrived. With two children in the group it wasn’t the service we have come to expect. Food good but not as good as we have had before with the gravy a disappointment on the Sunday roast.

Can only comment on previous visits as on this occasion the car broke down on the way for our meal and we had to be towed home. It’s a great little music venue too and had planned to see a gig after the meal. We will return

Lovely place, unfortunately waited an hour for our food order, despite the place being fairly quiet. I ordered the veggie roast, it came luke warm at best with a very thick congealed overpoweringly tasting "gravy" covering a large proportion of my meal. The roast was a roast squash and mushroom (but there were no mushrooms on the dish..????) the veggies had skins left on - personally not my preference but it may be to others taste. I scrapped off the gravy and ate most of the meal as by that time I was ravenous and beyond the fuss of sending this back to a)heat up or b) re-do without the "gravy". My companion had the fish and chips, his dish was freshly cooked and hot. Ordered an apple and rhubarb crumble and advised it was only apple, a few other dishes were also off menu. The crumble which was a good size came with a very small amount of very thick custard in a jug (which was great just not enough of it). Overall the ambiance was great (apart from when the coffee machine was on) and the and the location amazing, Sadly the food and the price and the length of wait (£16 for the veggie roast and 1 hr wait and hunting down serving staff to order) was high for a mediocre meal at best.

Gorgeous place, friendly and polite staff. Food was great. Would 100% go here again. My only suggestion would be for the chef to let the staff know what is not available, as we ordered an apple and Rhubarb crumble yet there was no rhubarb and was told they didn’t have any? If this was communicated at the start then there would have not been an issue.

Staff were very friendly and supportive. We had our Dad with us who has restricted mobility and he had no problems & the staff were very helpful. Food was amazing and even put together something that wasn’t on the menu due to my diet restrictions. Can’t wait to go back.

Amazing roast beef dinner, apple and rhubarb crumble and custard washed down with a large glass of perfect ‘house’ red! Great venue too although would have preferred the main restaurant as it was Mother’s Day. Apart from the great venue and amazing food, the staff are a cut above and really do set the standard and set The Glynne apart from any other similar establishment for miles around.

Disappointed to find the price not the same as advertised online. £18 was quite alot for a sunday dinner. There were only two tables with customers and we were put between the two so lack of privacy when several other empty tables available. Saying that, food was great, generous portions , quality beef , might be good to have option of small dinners as elderly diners on next table said was too big for their smaller appetites.

Booked a table for a Friday evening at 6.30. Good job as it was pretty busy. Good choice of food. We could have gone for many of the dishes but both went for the duck. Delicious! Desserts were equally good. Only thing to be aware of is the limited vegetarian choice. Good ambiance and service.

First time visit, no spaces at back for parking were available but plenty available a short walk down the road. The entrance was a little obscure -+ we ended up going in at the back which felt a little underwhelming. Staff were very professional + clearly feel pride in working there! Food was lovely + reasonably priced. The lights had just been dimmed on our arrival + it was perhaps a little too dark. Food was made all the nicer by the extra effort eg v nice relishes etc

The food was amazing and really tasty and well cooked - however took 45 minutes for our main to arrive and a further 30 minutes after we ordered desert for that to arrive. It was such a shame the service was so slow and poor - we ended up having our desert taken off the bill as a result as we were about to cancel the order and it was brought out to us. I think perfect place if you’re not in a rush and want to enjoy a slow drink but after returning home and reading other recent reviews it seems like poor/slow service is common here at the moment.

We had a terrific meal of several courses, each one really top-notch. I think our server was new- he seemed a bit discombobulated, but he and the others who helped him out through the evening were all very nice. All in all, a wonderful evening!

Excellent pizzas. Pity there was only one alcohol-free beer available- and that was a stout which had a BBE July 2021 on it and tasted rather flat. Limited desserts menu. Friendly service.
