The GNH bar & terrace

Situated on the ground floor of the exquisite Great Northern Hotel, it has a prime location opening directly into King's Cross station and being just 25 metres from the Eurostar terminus at St Pancras International.
The bar has a breath-taking design, with oversized chandeliers, cut glass mirrored ceilings and an originally curved pewter topped feature bar.
It opens early for breakfast and as the day progresses, serves the very best cocktails, the finest champagnes and all-day food menu of the highest quality from Michelin star winning chef, Mark Sargeant.
The ‘Jaunt’ on Saturday afternoons from 2pm – 7pm brings guests the chance to enjoy drinks on a ‘2 for 1’ basis. On Sundays, the GNH Bar offers Brunch from 11am – 4pm.
Great place to meet and eat when you are travelling . A touch of luxury.
Like speeding time here, especially as the bar DID offer two for one cocktails, however they no longer offer these on a Saturday. This was disappointing as this is one of reasons we liked this bar. They hadn't removed this offer from their website when we reserved our table (7 persons in the end). Shame, bar bill much higher, but we still had a nice time.
I made a reservation online, requested a quiet corner table but was seated in the middle of the bar. As far as I could see no one else had reserved a table, they’d just walked in and been seated yet my specific request (due to a hearing impairment) had been ignored. It was crowded so they couldn’t move us. The waiters spoke limited English and didn’t understand what we were asking for from the menu! They came across as rude and dismissive...we ended up not eating anything because it was too difficult to actually order! Would not recommend and would not return.
I enjoyed this to an acceptable standard. The food wasn’t great, just decent. And the ambience was really busy. Customer service was very good. I thought the food was too expensive for what we ate. It was ok.
I had asked the staff to bring us a birthday plate for my friend on arrival. It took ages to order a drink and no birthday plate ever arrived. Bit disappointing. Lots of staff but constantly had to holler for attention.
I was expecting much more from out time there. My girlfriend and I went for a meal with friends, saw the pictures online and thought it would be nice, but the staff were quite slow and the vegetarian options were pretty poor. Tip, don't order the artichoke hearts, they're definitely not worth the wait or price.
They refused to accept our booking through Open table , even after I showed them that the booking was confirmed.
She was rude and after several requests to check for a table as we had a 6 month old with us and really needed to sit down for a meal she agreed to check and dint come back for 20 minutes after which we decided to leave.
If the tool is taking the booking they need to respect the fact that the table should be guaranteed.
Great food & service
I have visited the GNH bar a few times this time the food was average before it has been excellent. Service is ok & they don’t fuss over you which is nice & relaxing.
Rubbish. Turned up for a ‘first date’ as booked three days in advance to find the place holding a private event - they could easily have emailed to explain this. Nobody cared, no compensation. Never use this place.
Such a lot of hassle when we got there because we thought we had booked the restaurant but we had booked the bar & the manager said that we shouldn’t have been able to book the bar via Open Table as the bar doesn’t take bookings. Luckily they seated us upstairs in the restaurant on a lovely round table as there were 5 of us, the bar is a bit dark and busy to enjoy a meal so we were very fortunate that there was a table free in the restaurant & the staff couldn’t have been more helpful trying to sort things out. It was a very awkward start to the occasion & luckily it got better when we eventually enjoyed a glass of bubbly & some very enjoyable food. Open Table needs to communicate with GNH Bar over what can be booked & what can’t!
Part of a hotel. Lovely interior decor within the hotel. The bar does jazz evening events which is nice when having dinner. Good service. Variety theme cocktails & wine selection. Reasonable price. Definitely recommend to visit.
