The Good Egg Soho
All bookings are made for inside the restaurant only!
Just off Soho’s Carnaby Street in Kingly Court + serving food all day long, The Good Egg is a spectacular all day dining destination for a Tel Aviv-inspired breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner (try the award-winning shakshuka!).
The menus here cater very well to both meat eaters + veggie/vegan diners alike; central to the restaurant's vibrant atmosphere is a huge clay oven + long open kitchen bar, where guests can choose to dine while they enjoy the theatre of the chefs at work, unless they’d prefer a table away from the action.
Stunning seasonal house cocktails, craft beers, natural wines + desserts are on offer here too, making this the perfect pit stop.

Superb food! Will dream about that Sabih during lockdown... cocktails were also very dreamy.
Waiters were friendly and ready to crack a joke!
Will definitely come back!
Food was sooo tasty, especially the ZFC. Can't wait to go again.
Fantastic food, excellent value for money, great service. Was my first time but not my last!
Amazing service, food and cocktails, with a fab happy hour
Great food and great service. Will definitely go again.
Delicious brunch, the shatsuka was amazing, and service was lovely
Delicious food, good size portions, kind people and very cool vibe/place location!
Reduced menu, but still a good selection. Good food, quick service and friendly staff. Good ambience.
Amazing food and service! The shakshuka is great!
Amazing as always. Waitress lovely- had to move us to larger table as we ordered so much food. As always good perfect.
Good sabich. Real chunky thing but tasty. There was a lot on the menu I would have ordered
The blond lady, around 40 was very nice and professional
Amazing food, like really really good - a Soho favourite in the middle of Carnaby St.
Brilliant staff and brilliant food. Didn't love the semi outdoor courtyard bit we chose to sit in but of course there was the option to sit indoors, would go for that next time.
Our server went above and beyond.
Great brunch spot, very helpful and respectful staff.
Delicious food, friendly staff, overall a great place to catch up with friends!
Great food and service! Great vegan options available
The food was mostly okay, but the mains that we had (octopus) were not to a high quality. The meat of the octopus was like a crab stick, rather than the texture it should be and had a strange gravely quality to it. The fries were nice and the halloumi bites, although tasty, were spongy as if microwaved.
Perfect meal, fairly cheap eat for soho
No fault on the food: all was super tasty and fresh and polished our plates until the last crumb!
The service was good and we were given a table outside when we saw one was available.
The negative points:
There was no waiting staff to give us any info on the dishes and some elements were quite obscur!
We had to go inside to place our order while it was meant to be a table service and had to watch the other guests to make sure we kept the social distancing rules
A lot of disposable containers used that is just not so good for the planet.
The food was terrific though and i can’t recommend it more! Just be aware of the above.
Went there with a couple of friends in the afternoon. Sat in the outdoor section, great atmosphere and food. Service was excellent.
Good food, but nothing special for the price, had high expectations.
Great food and friendly staff. Used disposable items for dine in which I was disappointed by.
I was expecting and had heard great things. It was just mediocre.
Portions might be a bit on the small side - make sure you order sides. Food was delicious ! Waiting staff won't come to you, you will have to go order yourself, which created a bit of misunderstanding as we realised too late that we were charged for pitas that hadn't been served. Overall a nice eating experience in a great location.
Tasty food with lots of flavours, staff very friendly and helpful, will definitely recommend for a brunch
Honestly incredible! I booked for a leaving lunch with my colleagues and it was a memorable experience.
The food was unique and insanely good, and your team are just lovely. The lady who took our payment and looked after our table was great (sorry, I didn't notice her name but she was working on Thursday 10th Sept at lunchtime!). She was funny and engaging but also left us to it.
I will 100% be back with more people!
Great food and cocktails as always!!!! Such good flavours and great value for money!
French toast babka to die for, incredibly pleasant service, convenient location.
Lovely team and food. Small portions however for a high price.
The last time I ate at the Good Egg was pre-pandemic and I loved it.
Post pandemic, the food is still great and the members of staff remain welcoming and friendly.
I was dissapointed that on this visit, food was severed on disposable plates with plastic cutlery. Made the place feel like a fast food restaurant.
It was the first time I’ve been to the Good Egg but there will definitely be more in the future, I loved the menu and I can’t wait to try other dishes too!
Style over substance. Not a huge selection to choose from. May be better for brunch than for dinner.
Brilliant service with a great welcome and delicious food.
My only criticism would be the plastic cutlery - if this was biodegradable, I take this back, but it didn't look like it was, which seemed unnecessary in 2020.
Amazing food and really lovely helpful staff
I hope that they manage to ride the pandemic and things get back to normal for them soon
Deffo worth a visit, really interesting and delicious food
Great food and good service which made for a wonderful atmosphere and memorable evening.
Nice food but COVID prep wasn’t very good - you have to order at the till which creates a huge mass of people queuing at the door and ordering as well as lots of customers walking around. Don’t know why they don’t just do table service with waiters wearing masks ? Or an app? Also crazy loud and busy and they didn’t have any of the milkshakes. I’d avoid until COVID is over
Amazing food ! Portions were bigger than expected which was a big plus ! The food was incredibly tasty and surprising. Five stars for the Halloumi side. For a first time at the good egg, I was impressed and that won’t be my last visit.
The shaksuka didn’t taste great. The social distancing didn’t make much sense, people were jumping around between tables and they weren’t being cleaned between these people moving. We got charged service when we had to go to the counter to order food. They used QR codes for menus, Individual paper bowels and single use cutlery but then we would share bottles of sauces, glasses, water bottles, So why couldn’t we use normal plates and cutlery to eat if the other things are being cleaned?
Food was really nice and came quickly. Lots of space in the courtyard. Staff were friendly. Everything came in eco-friendly takeaway containers to help with hygiene.
