The Good Egg Soho
Just off Soho’s Carnaby Street in Kingly Court + serving food all day long, The Good Egg is a spectacular all day dining destination for a Tel Aviv-inspired breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner (try the award-winning shakshuka!).
The menus here cater very well to both meat eaters + veggie/vegan diners alike; central to the restaurant's vibrant atmosphere is a huge clay oven + long open kitchen bar, where guests can choose to dine while they enjoy the theatre of the chefs at work, unless they’d prefer a table away from the action.
Stunning seasonal house cocktails, craft beers, wines + desserts are on offer here too, making this the perfect pit stop.

Excellent range of food especially vegetarian items. Good location and friendly staff.
Everything was good, except mulled wine (don’t take it guys) and disinformation about happy hour time. Service was good, helpful but slow. There wasn’t busy at all and it seems that the staff was relaxing too :) Music wasn’t loud, big new space, lovely waitresses, food was good (my first ever ox cheek, fantastic), merlot is delicious. Definitely I’ll come back to the cafe again.
Really good! Very popular - but would go back again, the cornbread was fantastic.
catching up over dinner with a friend I hadn't seen in a while, we had shakshuka, sabih, and one each of the delicious tahini halva brownie... happy bellies, happy friends!
Service needs to be better
I’ve arrived and most of the dishes were ran out for breakfast when it was only 10:30
Food was incredibly pickled and soggy. Builders were moving in and out and half the restaurant was turned into a storage area whilst we were eating. Service was great which was the only plus point.
Delicious food, very friendly staff, really buzzy, lively environment. Will definitely go back.
Great venue, fab ambiance and food was delicious!! Will definitely be back!
Good service when they came. Food was not good, my chicken schwarma in a pita was almost inedible from the amount of vinegar on the pickled vegetables and the quantity of that with just a little chicken sprinkled on the top.
Won't be coming back
Lovely spot, great atmosphere, loads of options on the menu and really nice food. Very friendly & helpful staff especially the young Czech lad who went out his way to make it a special birthday for my gf.
It was good fun. Great food. What sh they had more sharing plates and options
Such a lovely evening, the staff were fab! The halloumi was so dry though.. everything else was delicious
Rather disappointing , more attempt at style than substance. Bizzare choice of crockery , very small plates making eating rather hard even though portion size was pretty small. Water glasses left unfilled. Shame as I really wanted to like it but won’t return.
Again and again .. best shakshoka ever
Second time going to this restaurant, this time for dinner, and wasn't disappointed!
Food arrived very quickly and dishes were flavoursome and well presented.
Great availability for booking ahead on the day. Relatively lively, as with all restaurants in Kingly Court.
Definitely try a dessert, we shared the brownie ice cream sandwich which was a lovely way to round off the meal.
Decent place for a meal. Nothing super special but a solid experience
Our server was very pleasant and very helpful. We will return and tell others as well.
Delicious food, fantastic and interesting menu, the team were attentive and friendly and the restaurant itself was lovely!
Lovely place, wonderful staff but I do think the vegan Kofta was incredibly over priced.
Very yummy. I had the aubergine shawarma with the halloumi side followed by the cheesecake. Best cheesecake I have eaten in a long time. All food was great. Will definitely return.
Would’ve benefited from slightly better service but overall a good time
The menu, quality of food, sizes of portions and the whole presentation seems to have downgraded a lot.
We used to love the food there, but it’s our first time back since after all the lockdown and, unfortunately we had a major disappointment and it was a special occasion as well. There is nothing wrong with the place, just not what it used to be, so we won’t be coming back.
Food was very good, everybody really enjoyed what they had. Service was excellent, super friendly, quick and attentive. Good value for money.
I was so excited to be going back here, however, the breakfast menu doesn’t seem as innovative or exciting as it used to be. The lox breakfast item was really underwhelming… weird egg patty some cream cheese on the bottom and dry top half brioche bun some sliced pickles on the side - it’s not at all how I remember it pre lockdown, sadly… Meh 😒
Always delicious and fantastic service, highly recommend!
Could not fault our meal. Cracking service, amazing food all made for a lovely evening out. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning!
The original good egg was incredible but this one is sadly not. Fine but no more than that.
Service was extremely poor, staff were unhelpful and slow - we were forgotten about constantly. This was hours after the lunchtime rush so no excuse. Food was tasty but experimental was ruined by bad service - especially as it was my partners birthday and I had put that on the booking!
Warm welcome, very attentive staff
Busy, but seen to straight away..
all of the food was delicious our only complaint is that the octopus was a little on the mean size…
Happy hour martinis were fab!
The Shakshuka was delicious. Great atmosphere and great food!
The food was Excellent and the cocktails were very tasty.
Great service and suggestions. We coming back for weekend brunch
Pre theatre dinner. Great service - attentive and friendly.
Not a fan of the scan the code for a menu but guess that is future.
All in all great experience- would go again and would recommend.
Light, bright, air-ey, buzzy, friendly. Great secret location hidden off carnaby street
Before the pandemic, I was a regular at the Good Egg, Stoke Newington. The menu was a bit more Middle Eastern and the flavours very exotic.
The one in Soho reminded me eating in a canteen by the street. The flavours were not original although the food was very well cooked but nothing exotic about it.
The waiter forgot to bring us a plate and we had to remind him. We were quite disappointed to be honest.
And the level of noise doesn't allow a lot of space for a convo.
Great food catering to all dietary requirements, including vegan, GF and DF. Free range chicken also available.
Staff attentive and helpful, lovely ambiance in Kingly Court. Would definitely recommend!
Wonderful food and very attentive servers. Evening menu cod and ox cheek were amazing.
