The Granary Square Brasserie
The brasserie buzz through breakfast, morning coffee, lunch and cream teas in the afternoon. Throughout the day the lounge area will be perfect to relax with a drink or for informal meetings with luxurious vintage leather chairs and low brass tables. As the sun sets and we get ready for dinner, the DJ set will begin, and cocktails will flow.
The restaurant is beautiful with cut glass pendant lights, banquettes upholstered in silk and velvet and exotic kilim rugs. The striking central bar, located in the heart of the room, is perfect to survey the scene and enjoy an aperitif cocktail.
Great and convenient location. Stylish and good service.
Such a lovely place! Great food and wine list. Excellent restaurant!
The staff were very friendly, the service was great, and the food was exceptional.
Super restaurant! So beautiful and nice atmosphere! Would highly recommend.
Very noisy and the burger was not good at all. We had to wait to be seated even though we had a reservation and the place smells a lot. Very bad ventilation system.
Nice ambience - although we sat in a very noisy & restricted space table.
We had several attempts for passers by to knock things off the small table & generally there were too many staff buzzing about although we waited an age for a drink to arrive.
Food was much more brunchy than expected - avocado benedict was nice in theory but dry & the chips were too.
Fantastic food and service! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
This was a special anniversary with the family and the friendly staff were very attentive and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and we will return. Thanks for the anniversary treat which was unexpected as we had not told the staff the occasion. We thought the ambiance was lovely
Great atmosphere and delightful staff. Very comfortable seating plus plenty of menu choice.
Lovely venue, lovely food, great service but just a bit loud! Overall would def recommend for a fun evening
Sent monkfish and prawn curry with just prawns
I had a wonderful evening celebrating my birthday!! Everything was excellent, thank you for a great service, superb food, and great atmosphere!! We will definitely return!
Really enjoyed it. Great table, delightful staff. Not cheap but probably reasonable for the location and room.
Have been here several times and always have had a great experience . Unfortunately, not the case this time. I love the atmosphere and decor. This time food and drinks very slow to arrive and had to pour our own wine as fed up of waiting! I asked for mayonnaise with my meal that never arrived. Disappointing and not up to usual standard. On a positive, food was great when eventually arrived and staff friendly.
Excellent welcome - always most important and a sign of what is to come - and first class, attentive but not intrusive, service.
Superb hamburgers, good wine in a very buzzy atmosphere, just what the doctor ordered.
Well done and thank you.
We regularly go for brunch here and always have delicious food and service. I think it’s great value for our area and there is a great selection of food and drinks. We always book even if just an hour before as we have found the staff treat you very differently if you are a walk in and can sometimes be rude.
Excellent as always, service with a smile. Always a please to go
Great vibe and amazing service. Some of our dishes were not the best choice, others really good. Recommended for business or casual dining
Always had a perfect time here
First time at the Granary and first of many, great food and great atmosphere
Fantastic venue with the best food. Very suitable for special situations
Booked table for 5 people several weeks in advance and given a table that would comfortably sit only 2.
Impressive set up with a vibrant atmosphere and great food. Service a little interchangeable.
The food was delicious, service was great and fun interior of the restaurant. Felt intimate and romantic. We had an excellent services
Pleasant atmosphere ,helpful discreet staff. Excellent food and beverages
Absolutely delicious lunch in a lovely setting. All staff incredibly helpful and friendly.
Disappointing main course choices sadly
Signature dish of shepherds pie had lots of gristle which is really unacceptable, monkfish curry was ok but lacked fish ,too much sauce
We arrived and the table was not ready, not just not set but still occupied with the previous booking. They looked flustered that we had arrived on time. We were kept waiting at the door and not offered a seat, even a drink at the bar which may have been a better option around. When we were sat, the floor was not clean, we found a used napkin and a lime by our feet. There were not enough steak knives in the restaurant so some of the table ordered steak, they were given a regular knife and told it would be swapped later. Surely they should have not served the wrong cutlery and just brought the right cutlery when it was available. The starters were very nice. We waited a very long time for the main course and when we questioned this we were given reasons for why this had happened but the waitress did not offer to check on the status of the food, we had to push for this. When they did arrive, the fish dish was over cooked, the fish was dry and the broccoli brown. It looked like it had spent far too long under a hot lamp. We ordered a second bottle of wine and this was served in the same glasses, the norm would be to bring fresh glasses to the table for the new bottle. All in all very disappointing. They did offer to replace the fish but we had waited too long already we couldn’t wait anymore, we just left it. They took some money off the bill for the fish.
We had a wonderful evening celebrating with family. Service was excellent.
Great atmosphere and location, but service was comedically poor, with dishes forgotten and wine disappearing as well as dropped dishes. The maitre d' was great and apologetic, but the service was not what you expect from this kind of restuarant
We’ve had dinner and drinks at Granary at Square on a couple of occasions now, but this visit seemed to fall short compared to previous experiences.
To start on a positive note - we arrived an hour earlier than booked as we were absolutely starving and were still able to be seated at our table, which was fantastic (and much appreciated). However we were left at our table without being acknowledged for at least 15mins, without even an offer to take a drink order. Eventually my partner headed to the bar to try and order our drinks, without any luck as it was so busy. A couple were then seated next to us and their order immediately taken - I had to physically wave the waitress down to take our order next. She apologized and explained that she had just started her shift and immediately rectified the situation (she was actually fantastic for the rest of our evening, so not really her fault if no one had taken our order before she came on shift!).
I can understand that the restaurant is busy on a Saturday evening, but it did really feel like the tables had been squeezed in to fit as many people as possible. We were seated at a table for 2 along the bench/booth wall, but as soon as the table next to ours arrived, it felt super awkward, and like we had to fight over each other to be heard by our respective partners - it felt like our conversation was not at all private or intimate, and overall did ruin the experience for us. We actually ended up deciding to buy dessert on our way home as we didn’t feel comfortable staying there any longer, which was a real shame as we were there to celebrate my partners birthday and our recent engagement.
Overall, our waitress was lovely, and the food was great, but the ambience could be improved and staff better trained in seating guests and ensuring they feel looked after from the get-go.
Great services - one of our guests had really specific dietary requirements and they were very helpful and knowledgeable on the menu. Beautiful restaurant and great, busy atmosphere. Food was slightly over cooked on a couple of our dishes.
Good for breakfast - delicious ingredients; however the waiting staff forgot parts of order and had to ask for items to be brought to table.
Our table was also near to the bar and could see our fresh juice and berry smoothie drinks being poured from bottles which isn't the greatest look, especially for £5 a glass.
very lively and great atmosphere . food good but not outstanding - not a good as the other ivy cafes .
Food good and range of choice. Apple tart pudding particularly yummy! Bit pricey, but paying for the location.
Nice open restaurant set in an old building. The set menu is good value. Acknowledged it was my birthday which was nice. Amazing caramel espresso martinis!
Fun evening chilled vibe
It was for a colleague’s surprise birthday. Good overall but very slow service.
Superb all round
Went for brunch. Arrived before companions and ordered tea to fill in time. Cancelled order because it took ages to come. Had eggs Benedict. Muffins not good. Paid with vouchers but wasn’t presented with bill as apparently manager has to see vouchers prior to payment. Then told by waitress that the bill had been settled in full. Had to request a receipt which demonstrated that we had underspent. Waitress suggested that we might like coffee but we’d finished our meal and didn’t want to stay. I’d rather have been given a choice as to whether to spend one voucher or two. Surroundings are amazing but extremely busy and noisy on s Sunday morning with waiting staff struggling to negotiate the rather narrow gap between our table and others and slow service.
