Granary Square Brasserie, a new restaurant brand from the team behind the Ivy Collection.

The brasserie buzz through breakfast, morning coffee, lunch and cream teas in the afternoon. Throughout the day the lounge area will be perfect to relax with a drink or for informal meetings with luxurious vintage leather chairs and low brass tables. As the sun sets and we get ready for dinner, the DJ set will begin, and cocktails will flow.

The restaurant is beautiful with cut glass pendant lights, banquettes upholstered in silk and velvet and exotic kilim rugs. The striking central bar, located in the heart of the room, is perfect to survey the scene and enjoy an aperitif cocktail.

The jug of tea was too expensive and not very nice. For that price, it should be coming in a proper tea diffuser and be loose leaf. Also, we were only given 10 minutes to drink our tea. In addition, they had a poor selection for vegan/veg people (my friend is vegan and had to have just a side of chips and broccoli). Other than that, lovely food.

Had a lovely lunch on the patio. Excellent service and great food. Even when our two-hour time slot at the table was over, we were allowed to take our drinks to a table outside the patio. Perfect.

We visited with 2 children for brunch on a Sunday and sat outside. It was comfortable and a beautiful setting. Service was relaxed and helpful and the food was delicious. The waiter asked what we were celebrating and when we explained that our 6 year old was attending his first cricket match he brought out a yummy dessert with a candle for the kids! A great start to a great day, thank you

It's a nice ambience, but food felt tasted pretty average for the price. The service also wasn't as attentive as I'd hoped, but perhaps they were down people.

We have been to the restaurant many times. Last night, however, we sat outside and there were mice running around under the tables! Not a pleasant experience.

Good service, drinks and food as always. It was busy so food took a bit longer to arrive, but that was fine for us, and we were not rushed off our table as a consequence. Thanks to Noah for tolerating our cheekiness. :-)

The service charge is used to 'top up' the waiting staff's wages so please remove it from your bill & give them the cash instead.

Would like to thank our server, I think she was new but she was really good and very attentive. Thank you for bringing out the birthday dessert and for assuring it was all nut free!

Really enjoyed it,, table was for 2 and felt a bit cramped, would of preferred a bit more space, atmosphere is amazing, buzzing, very busy, staff are efficient but they were so busy, food was nice, I was excited to try the famous cottage pie, it was nice but I'd describe more as a ragu flavour, not a cottage pie, husbands steak was gorgeous, food didn't come with anything, so pricey for what it was, but we expected it to not be cheap, best bit was cocktails at the bar after dinner, served by a lovely young man who was an expert on drinks, he had someone helping him who was trying his best, but did tend to serve short measures, espec in cocktails, which aren't cheap, would recommend it though, as atmosphere is amazing, was over £200 for 2 of us, so defi a treat.

Great atmosphere and a lovely place to eat. Very loud so waiters found it hard to hear our order! A little on the pricey side - £4.25 for a bottle of water (we weren't offered tap water which would have been fine)

This should have been a very nice experience in a restaurant with a nice setting and a good ambience. However, it was ruined by poor service, lack of essential attention, and finally a "mistake" on the bill.
In fairness the food that my wife and 2 friends had was fine, but mine was not just awful, it led to me getting unwell through exposure to gluten.
Prior to booking I emailed to ask if they could accommodate a gluten-free meal as I have coeliac disease; I was assured that this was no problem.
When we sat down, I asked if there was a gluten-free menu, but was told no, you can pick from the menu and we will ensure it is catered for.
I chose their hamburger, with no bread, and asked about the chips. I was assured that the chips were gluten-free. When my meal arrived it was akin to a burger between 2 slices of gf bread - no chips. I commented that I had asked for no bread, but chips and was told that the chips were not gf. I asked why I had not been informed so that I could pick something else - the waiter shrugged his shoulders.
My friend had also ordered chips but none arrived so he queried it. 2 portions then arrived, 1 for me. I said that I was told that they were not gf, but was then assured that these were. I should have said no, but I trusted them. Within an hour I was suffering badly, and now will be for the next few days.
We also:
Struggled to get a 2nd bottle of water - requested 4 times!
One starter turned up late, after the rest of us had nearly finished.
Our wine was in the same chiller as another table, and was partially drunk by them (in fairness this was resolved).
The final insult was that an addition 'credit card gratuity' was added to the bill, alongside the service charge. When queried a very strange explanation was given, but ultimately it amounted to a mistake.
A potentially lovely night out was ruined, and I was made ill by absolutely shoddy service.
If you have any food allergies, intolerances or problems AVOID THIS PLACE!

The waiter Vinchezo was awful, he was not attentive and when I asked for dessert he told us our time was up but we was left with the dessert menu for 15 minutes and no one came over to take order, we had to ask for butter three times. He then swore at me in Italian and then made out he didn’t. He was aggressive and rude and the food was below average. I love all the ivys but this one is the worst

We were surprised to learn that the booking was a mandatory 1hr 45m. The waiter pressed us to order and continued to remind us of the time limit. Food not bad. Dessert was 4 chocolates in a bowl! As soon as we finished dessert we were literally presented with the bill. No chance for coffee. Then placed at bar for drinks. It spoilt the experience. It’s a nice place but felt like a highly priced McDonalds in the way we were shuffled through and focus more on time at the table rather than the service which seems a bit bonkers.

Lovely meal, pleasant ambience and unfortunate what could have been a lovely lunch with friends was spoilt by very willing but poor service. Allocated a one and hslf hour slot initially. Extended to 2 and a quarterl hours. almost an hour and half before main course arrived. Resulted in then being rushed. Inspire of this we will be tetufning

My experience at this restaurant was disappointing. It is slightly conflicted in what is trying to achieve. The menu is varied and what you might expect for a brasserie, with slightly higher prices you would expect in Granary Square.
However, the staff were cold and service was average.
The main priority of the waitress in our section was reminding us that our table expired at 90 minutes, we had 15 and 10 minute warnings. We left within the allocated 90 minutes but atmosphere appeared cynically transactional hiding under a veneer of formality , they just wanted us to pay and get out ASAP. I understand restaurants need to manage their tables for other bookings but this was on the poor end of how to do this. So, overall it was disappointing. I would not go back.

I live in Northumberland and I travelled to London primarily to attend a Livery Dinner at the Mansion House in the City . I decided I would take the opportunity of visiting London to arrange a family reunion because I had not seen them for well over a year due to Covid restrictions . One of my family , who works in London, recommended Coal Drops Yard as a place to explore and The Granary Brasserie as a delightful place to hold to a celebration lunch . Although I had booked the table for 1.00pm ,my partner and I arrived rather early ( 12.00noon) but we thought we would see if we could have a drink while we waited. The senior staff, who were very friendly and helpful , immediately went into action and found us a nice table outside and brought us a bottle of Veuve Cliquot(?) Rose Champagne while we waited. On the appointed hour the family arrived and we treated ourselves to a superb lunch ( I can recommend the Prawn and Monkfish Curry ) with the staff looking after us beautifully . A meal to be savoured and with many happy memories. The one downside was a building operation next to the restaurant using deafening mechanical drills and 'jack'hammers ...not the restaurant's fault and it did not spoil our enjoyment.

Lovely food, great range of choice for all tastes including a wide vegetarian range, nice time space between courses. Our waiter was excellent, really helpful and efficient. The tables were nicely spaced and the atmosphere was good. My only criticism is the toilets are aa bit small for such a large place, only 4 toilets, 3 sinks and 1 hand drier in the ladies loo.
