The Granary Square Brasserie
The brasserie buzz through breakfast, morning coffee, lunch and cream teas in the afternoon. Throughout the day the lounge area will be perfect to relax with a drink or for informal meetings with luxurious vintage leather chairs and low brass tables. As the sun sets and we get ready for dinner, the DJ set will begin, and cocktails will flow.
The restaurant is beautiful with cut glass pendant lights, banquettes upholstered in silk and velvet and exotic kilim rugs. The striking central bar, located in the heart of the room, is perfect to survey the scene and enjoy an aperitif cocktail.
Excellent place for breakfast on a sunny Saturday! Everything was great.
The staff were welcoming and attentive. A young waiter was learning the ropes and did very well. It was a birthday celebration and this was picked up on and a celebratory dessert came out at the end of the meal. We will definitely visit again.
We had a lovely breakfast
Lovely restaurant in a nice part of Kings Cross that has been redeveloped. Food was great and service was good. Nice mixed choice on the menu catering for all tastes. Been to a few of the Ivy brassieres & seems to be the same menu although this one is a little smaller without the salads. Would definitely recommend.
First trip to this Coal Yard venue for a birthday lunch. Food and service good but we were squeezed on to a tiny table and had to juggle plates, glasses and cutlery to fit. Expensive but good for a celebration.
Lovely food, great bar and atmosphere. Staff were friendly and food was brought out relatively quickly
We were a party of 9 and due to a cancellation we were moved into the semi private room which was perfect. Service was great, food was good and the whole place has a great atmosphere. The whole place looks really cool to and there is great outdoor space to sit.
Everything was good until the end, when we were asked to leave our table to accommodate the next booking. We had been there for less than 2 hours. There was no indication when making the booking that time-slots were limited. This was disappointing and unimpressive. This is why I would not recommend it to a friend.
Fabulous service, beautiful decor and amazing food. Cannot fault it, will definitely be back!
Service was very slow and disinterested, had to get up from table to ask them to take our order after 20 minutes of waiting, made multiple mistakes, had several different servers who clearly hadn't communicated to each other. The manager came with the bill at the end of the evening and when I cut the tip down from the standard discretionary 12.5% to 9-10% he didn't ask me why or enquire at all how our meal had been. Food was good though.
Very disappointing booked an early table for a Father’s Day breakfast.
Ordered for myself, husband and 2 children, only half of our breakfast came out and then we had to wait an extra 10 mins for them to bring my little girls croissant and toast! 10 mins after everyone else had their breakfast. Asked 3 waiters in this time where they were and nobody did anything about it! Toast came out like stale bread, hardly toasted.
Would totally recommend this venue. Lovely setting, helpful staff and very well presented and flavoursome food.
Brilliant night great restaurant food and staff very attentive
Bit slow on serving drinks
Didn’t ask if we wanted more drinks
But overall very good
Overall excellent for a few things wrong with the order but this was rectified quickly ...
Buzzy atmosphere, almost 'noisy' - extremely busy even at 5pm - service was not quite as attentive as experience in sister establishment experienced 2 weeks previous, slower and felt a little more 'stressful' generally. Also felt a little stuffy/too warm sat on sofa/bench table - maybe lack of ventilation, too many bodies !. Food was excellent.
Great service with a smile and food was delicious. Music was playing but not too loud so was pleasant
The place is really beautiful inside and the menu interesting and reasonable. But the portions were small, the service was slow and mistakes were made - it was so busy they couldn’t really keep up
A non 'badged' restaurant from the Ivy Group - therefore if you've been to any of the Ivy Brasseries (the original is still the best!) you will know what to expect. Lots of knocks and crannies to hide away in or alternatively be 'out there' either outside or in the area by the bar, or indeed eat at the Bar - it happens!
Arrived for 6pm on a Friday and it was already busy and just got busier and busier. With the amount of development going on in the Kings Cross area I'm sure that will continue.
Staff efficiently polite
The decor is sumptuous & beautiful and a refreshing change from the more bland, minimalist or harsh urban decor that abounds. The table presentation was truly elegant and modern. When we took our seats the waitress quickly provided perfectly chilled tap water in a beautiful jug and glassware. We ordered one 2 course lunch menu of Chicken Cesar salad (with the sauce to add as desired) - nice touch as often this dish can arrive drowning in the stuff. We also ordered a chicken escalope from the main menu, which came with a lovely zesty lemon dressed salad on top. For pudding there was a light and delicious yoghurt sorbet with fresh strawberries. We really enjoyed our lunch and the only glitch was a mistake on our bill, accidentally charging us for a 3 course lunch rather than 2 courses. However, this was quickly rectified. We'll definitely be back!
WE booked brunch for 10.30am and arrived on time. We were served coffee within 5 minutes and then ordered our poached eggs on toast(x2) and eggs Benedict (x1) by 11.00am
After 2 requests to see where the order was, we eventually received our food at 12.00.
One of the waitresses had a very bad attitude when I asked how long we were going to have to wait. The manager was very apologetic and offered to remove the drinks from our final bill.
A disappointing first experience.
We ordered three courses which came quickly and I noticed the food was perfectly cooked. My main was the salmon and asparagus and it was moist and delicious. My friends were impressed with their meals and we had a great evening!
Monkfish curry had little monkfish in it.
I have been coming here fairly regularly since it opened. The service has always been a bit hit and miss but this visit it was poor. We waited 15 minutes for our drinks at the bar there was only two servers and they were trying their best but just not enough people. The food was average actually not very well cooked or presented and is so expensive. The toilets were scruffy and not kept clean. I won’t be coming here again
everything was great, food was excellent and nice atmosphere. the only small issue was that there was a bit of delay of bringing our food, the service could have been faster. thanks
Very nice Brasserie, part of The Ivy chain which all offer excellent food and service.
The ambience was spoilt a little by a group of noisy diners with a speaker which they occasionally used for music!!
The monkfish and prawn curry was superb.
Will definitely return.
Terrible service, food is reasonable priced
It has become very commercial standard not as good as it was chicken dry and chips hard.:. Sad, but just another one of those things
Food was superb as always, staff are super friendly and attentive. It’s worth booking in advance as it’s very popular. Really affordable for the standard of food and atmosphere. Would visit again.
Went two nights. Both meal and service excellent. The menu was varied and catered for all tastes. Good wine list and cocktails were well made. Nice atmosphere and the place had a good vibe.
Food was very nice, waiter seemed a bit stressed because we were a group that was chatting and not ordering straight away. Lovely table and decor; however, we were sitting near a large window and the sun was shining in, which was blinding for the people facing the window and also got very hot for everybody. We asked if there was a window blind/shade/screen, but there wasn't. Also the music was a bit too loud, so people couldn't hear each other very well without having to lean in towards the centre of the table - made it not as relaxing as we'd hoped for.
Lovely food great choice efficient staff just quite a noisy restaurant
It was good.
2 of us came here on a Saturday lunchtime. I had booked online, asking if they could seat us in a booth or a 4 seater table to give us more space and they sat us in a corner sofa table which was nice and roomy - I was really impressed by this because a lot of places would ignore the request.
I had Cod Fish & Chips with Mashed Peas and Tartare Sauce £14.50. It came with 2 large pieces of fish in batter with lemon. It was crispy and well flavoured. The chips were really good, as were the peas and sauce.
The staff were so attentive and professional and the interior was really beautiful.
The room was packed and buzzing but not so loud that you can’t hear each other talk.
I could have sat there for hours chatting and sipping a nice drink.
Definitely give this place a go.
Lovely lunch with friends.
Great food but be prepared to wait as that service is slow.
Appalling experience. Impossible to flag staff down to get served, when we finally did the food took over an hour to arrive and was cold when it got there. Zero apology or money off the bill. I was bringing friends from out of town and left mortified by my choice of restaurant. Also no vegan options for breakfast, which is disappointing in 2019 London.
Food and staff both lovely, but service slightly slow and music a little too loud for a Saturday brunch!
Fabulous venue, liked the decor, staff were lovely and the food delicious!! Would definitely go back
Beautiful location, very friendly service, amazing food!
Great restaurant, took a bit of time to get served, but the food and drinks were delicious.
