Love that restaurant. Please don't ever allow dogs.... watch out for crying babies...
One thing - which restaurant has no control of - the noise of all the families playing in the fountains was so loud that we chose not to have an outside table....ruined it for everyone, all the screaming and people sprawled over the ground.
Not enough waiters or waitresses - was hard to get any service. But when we did get it it was good...
Food was very good, although the service was exceptionally slow, good Job we weren't in a hurry, occasion wasn't helped by the screaming baby,!
Phenomenal venue both location and ambience wise. Quality food presented well that did not break the bank.
I will be back. And often!!!
The food was good but it felt more like being at a bar than a restaurant due to the live DJ. Difficult to have a conversation under these conditions. Wouldn't recommend it because of it.
The service was entertaining in some ways - a bit formal and quite fierce. As the evening progressed the staff were less attentive to the point that we had to wait around 15 mins to pay. We didn't let them spoil our evening though!
Stylish restaurant decor with a good all day menu - the 'feel' of the menu was still a little autumn / winter.
Service was a little disjointed - could have been a change over of staff- each course served by different waiting staff - as we dinned mid afternoon - especially wine and drink top ups.
Great service. Food was delicious. Table outside as requested was perfect. Already booked to go back.
The entire evening was great. Our mains took a little long to come after our starter but our waiter Walid was just so kind and gave us a glass of fizz to apologise for the delay. Great location, great decor and fab waiting staff
Like all restaurants one can’t specify eg not too many chips or just one portion of fish instead you are told to just leave it This is wasteful and I would prefer my individual wants catered for
Great food and ambience! Will definitely be back.

I had read a few reviews which indicated that the service fell below short and unfortunately my party and I suffered the same fate. Our tea alone took 45mins to arrive, we have various table waiting and when our mains came there were discrepancies on the orders. The redeeming quality however is; the food is delicious, ambience is buzzing and warm and the decor is just lush. I would definitely return but such a disappointing service factor. We declined paying the discretionary service charge.
Popped in here for lunch last Sunday, had the fish and chips. Batter was delicious, and even the thick cut chips (which i'm not usually preferable to) were great. As were the minty mushy peas.
Recommend for a special occasion (even though we weren't there for that) as the decor is great, and feels special and grand. Thinking about coming here for a Christmas meal if they're open christmas day.
Lovely setting - great table in an alcove for a special friends’ get together Sunday brunch. Main courses came out from the kitchen at different times meaning half of us had food while others waited some time. One main course had to go back because it was cold and another didn’t appear then appeared twice! Would have appreciated a bit more of a proactive approach when these issues happened but when we did complain the manager agreed to take the cold main course off the bill. Great location and good quality food though.
Had Sunday breakfast with a group of friends. Our friends were running late but the staff were very patient and understanding. They got us started with coffee while we waited for the slow ones! The food was excellent. Generous servings and fresh ingredients. I had the ham and cheese omelette which was delicious. Three in our group had the poached eggs with avocado which they all enjoyed. Highly recommend the white hot chocolate. Prices were very reasonable. We’ll be returning for breakfast again.
Nice food but very haphazard service. Waiting staff appeared overwhelmed and we waiting ages for our main course. Maitre d' not particularly interested in my feedback at the time
Beautiful restaurant as are all the Ivy Brasseries. Food was great, though I wish there was a bit of variation in the menu between the different branches (as a veggie, the choice isn't that great). However, the service was absolutely abysmal - we waited 20 minutes to order drinks, and that was only after we called someone over to take our order. Every time we wanted something, and despite the number of staff wandering around, we had to go find someone to ask. A real shame as the staff seem lovely and everything else about the Brasserie is fab.
Restaurant was not set up on arrival - staff were still busy setting up tills and lying tables up until 10am (we arrived at 9.30am, as per booking). Service was incredibly slow - took 25 minutes to get two cappuccinos. We were only informed at 9.50am the kitchen had technical issues and our order could go in until 10am. We had to live without eating as had an appointment elsewhere. Ambience and setting very nice, but staff and communication very poor.
Had a lovely evening celebrating my daughters birthday. The restaurant was busy as usual but very organised and we were seated straight away. Unfortunately we went seated in the central part of the restaurant which I would have preferred but were to the left hand side near the windows. It was nice but you don’t feel quite part of the whole atmosphere there. Staff were friendly and attentive. Starters, soup and calamari were nice. Mains, fish pie and shrimp burger really enjoyable. Plenty of fish in the pie (mainly salmon though). Very filling. Sweets were apple tart with calvados which is flamed at the table. All very good. Pornstar martini was a let down. I’ve had many and for £14 this was by far the worst. Not much of a Passion fruit flavour, no shot of prosecco (not sure if it had already been added but couldn’t taste it) and no passion fruit floating, instead a piece of lime?? In hindsight I should have sent it back as it really wasn’t how it should be. All in all a lovely evening.
The Granary Brasserie and the Ivy Group can always be relied upon for fantastic service and good food. I like the Kings Cross restaurant as the location is easy to get to and the fact they have a DJ is a plus. Can't wait for the summer to use the outside space! Do book in advance as they always seem full to capacity.
Poor service -30 mins to produce any drinks, 90mins to provide our main course.
Noisy - difficult to undertake any decent conversation, would not recommend to anyone who likes to chat over dinner!
This was my second visit to the Brasserie and it was a very enjoyable occasion with very good food excellent service and good ambience.
Good food and attentive but not fussy service. Great setting.
A very nice atmosphere, good service and delicious food
Good food and service, this combined with the decor makes this place feels more upmarket than the food prices suggest!
I had booked a table for 6 for lunch for a girls lunch and we all had the best time. We found there was a Great atmosphere, good food and excellent service . We have gluten free, dairy free and a vegan with us and the choices were impressive
Great food, amazing service and beautiful decor! Will definitely going back there to try more dishes!
Staff did not understand menu or our requirements. Took a while for some orders to arrive.
stunning setting and excellent food. good value for money too.
This is a wonderful bonus in the new area of Kings Cross. The Brasserie is beautifully decorated and lighting and ambience is conducive to a good. Ugh the out. The service is very good and the menu is varied and the food is always excellent. Love this place
A restaraunt in a convenient location, great ambience but terrible service with average food. Stayed two hours and only got one offer of a drink - which we waited 15 minutes for until we asked again (we could see it sitting on the bar), we then got told we needed to leave 20 mins after they cleared our plates having not offered us drinks or desserts. Waiting staff seemed very new and wobbly.
Our table wasn't ready when we got there and we had to wait around 25 minutes to be seated despite booking in advance. Everyone who works there seems to have a very set role and there is no flexibility in that role, so for example, when we asked the waitress who was arranging our cutlery whether they served draft beer she said we would have the ask the waiter who was going to take our order (this took another 10 minutes!) This happened a few times throughout the meal which was frustrating as they were busy and it took ages to get served by the correct person.
The food is good although some of the portions are on the small side. There is good attention to detail. You will have to order extra sides with most dishes as they are not included.
The music is also a little loud for a restaurant and you may struggle to hear people talk. Also the choice of music is a bit incongruent with the setting (deep house and ambient mixes of famous house tunes). Jazz/piano would probably suit the dining experience better.
Overall not bad but the service could have been better and it would be really helpful if the staff could be more flexible in their roles (or at least be able to answer your questions!)
Disappointing. Food and service mediocre in a really lovely setting. Great feel but just didn’t live up to the menu or the hype.
The waiter was nice enough but not well informed about the food and drink. The main course took a long time to come. Sadly just a bit “below par”.
The food was delicous, staff extremely helpful and friendly. My only complaint was the fact the maincourse took 1 hour and 15 minutes to arrive. The staff said there were too many orders! Maybe they should reduce the number of tables in restaurant.
Terrible service, waited 2 hours after ordering for main course. Waiter initially shrugging and unhelpful, second waiter argued with us about resolution, finally maitre d' apologised and waived all charges. Food indifferent when it finally arrived. Won't be returning.
Overpriced. Dull menu. Dull food. Ridiculous decor. Lazy service. Avoid.
Enjoyed lunch but no vegan options at all. Would be good to have at least some options. Liked the restaurant but Music wasn’t really congruent with the restaurant environment.
I have been to the Brasserie on 4 occasions now and have always had excellent service. However this evening i was very disappointed. The restaurant seemed understaffed compared to previous service and there was obvious tension between staff. Only one person was working behind the bar and we had to wait along time between drinks orders. The food however was delicious as always
Lovely Easter Sunday brunch in relaxed atmosphere with great attentive service
Gorgeous decor and food. Only thing that let the experience down was the music, way too loud and hip hop at the Ivy? Not required in such an exclusive restaurant.
Lovely evening at the Granary Square Brasserie. I am a little disappointed that the menu is very similar to the other Ivy Brasseries and Cafes in the same group - there is a danger that the Group are taking over so many restaurants that the experience in each is becoming a little samey. Although I have to give credit to Granary Square as the food was well executed, the table and atmosphere were great and the waiting staff who looked after us were outstanding so a great overall experience.
