The Granby Inn
Whether you seek solitude, bustling market towns, ancient heritage sites or unspoilt countryside – at the Granby Inn, all lie within easy reach for you to enjoy.
Visited as a family group of 7, friendly service, good choice of food. Food was hot, delicious and all served at the same time. We couldn’t fault a thing! Will definitely come again
We enjoyed our visit. Food, service and ambiance were all very good.
We had the Christmas menu which was very good. The service was friendly and efficient. The room was well decorated.
Lovely food. Would have been prepared to pay a little more for more choice.
we both really enjoyed our sunday lunch and will be booking again soon
Quaint old coaching inn with friendly service. Generous portions and really good value for money.
Sunday lunch is always a treat at the Granby. Tender roasts, perfectly cooked vegetables and always a crunchy Yorkshire pud .
And such good value .......
we eat there regularly and can thoroughly recommend it.
Staff super - friendly, excellent service and people skills. Good great and accommodating for differing dietary requirements
First time visit but will definitely be back. Food is good and really good value. Service exceptional. Would definitely recommend
Went to the Granby Inn on the recommendation of a few friends as they all said the food was great. They were right about the food and the service. We were made to feel welcome and the food was really well presented and tasted a good as it looked. The only negative about the whole experience of eating here was that all the tables needed a good rub down and revarnish. It is only a personal thing, but when the table tops are in your eye-line all the time, it detracts from the overall dining experience. However, apart from my 'furniture' issues, I would still recommend eating here, especially on the speciality nights e.g. Curry night.
ordered battered prawns for starters got 3 for £4.50. Had rump steak for main, asked for medium rare and was so tough I had to cut it into tiny pieces just to chew. Not worth £14.50.
At least my wife’s meal was ok. Won’t be going back
A lovely birthday lunch at the Granby. The place was full so I am so glad I booked a table..
Great food, great staff and very good value for money. It never disappoints.
The menu was extensive and varied and the steak I personally ordered came exactly as requested and would be in my top 3. Recommendation enough I feel. The atmosphere was friendly and the service was excellent . So much so that, being a holiday booking, we made a second booking for 5 days later.
We received a very friendly welcome at The Granby Inn. The atmosphere was warm and there was a really lovely traditional feel about the pub - which is missing so often nowadays. The food was all cooked fresh and was absolutely delicious!
Good food and service. The room we were in was empty which didn't help the ambience.
It is over 15 years ago that we last visited The Granby and the interior has not changed one bit in that time. Although the main course Sunday lunch (beef & pork ordered) were delicious and would have scored a 5 the starters were all rather tasteless in comparison. Overall this pub restaurant provides good value but needs some remedial work on the tired decor.
very good sunday lunch will definitely go again
a class above all other places in the area including hotels.
Been going to The Granby for many years, meals are always first class, very friendly staff, lovely environment to sit and have a first class meal, five stars isn’t enough .
A proper traditional Sunday lunch. Everything was beautifully cooked. Service was lovely.
Really polite staff with prompt service and excellent quality food of great value. Battered Cod and the Scampi are highly recommended and the home cooked chips are like doorsteps....amazing! Unfortunately we didn’t have room for dessert because our mains were so filling! But having seen some of the desserts they looked amazing too.
Only down side were the tables for two were too close together and there were no young families their at the time we ate!...
It's been a long time since we visited The Granby and it didn't look like anything has been done to it inside in all these years - somewhat in need of a little TLC and updating. I got the cod and chips and the batter was very oily. The other 3 diners in our party we’re not overly impressed either and we all thought it was slightly overpriced.
Lovely curry in a nice setting with good beer. More vegetarian choices would be good.
Great food and value as always . Lovely friendly staff
Only problem is there is too much !!!
It was my first visit to the Granby Inn. My parents have been there many times & it lived up to their recommendations. The staff were very friendly & helpful & the food was extremely good & very reasonable. I will be going back with my husband & son.
arrived at 1 o,clock and was greeted by a member of staff who showed us to our reserved table.asked if we wanted a drink and was served straight away.menu was varied with lunch time special of one two or three course at good value for money.food presented very well and very tasty and filling although not mad keen on slate and wooden plates.overall good value for the money
Steak night is always great value at the Granby and last night was no exception. We had four rump steaks, with chips, mushrooms and tomatoes and it was delicious.
We like a table in the bar area so we can enjoy the ambience and friendly chat.
Very attentive staff including the lovely Meghan .
We were staying for the bank holiday and found the Granby Inn did online bookings.
The pub was lovely and quaint and the food was very tasty and service was quick for a Saturday night.
Great value for money and lovely food.
I booked the table last minute and secured a table for 5.45pm (we were having early tea).. As we were the only ones in the restaurant at that time it was very quiet. The Manager did seem to be running back and forth from the kitchen to the bar although it did not appear busy from where we were sitting. The menu choice was vast with specials, and day menu and an evening menu. After placing our orders we did wait rather along time for our food, placing the order at about 6pm and the food wasn’t served until approximately 6.40pm. Having said that everything was delicious and the manager did ensure that he checked in with us a couple of times. I would have awarded 5 stars overall if not for the long wait. (Keeping in mind it was not busy at our time of visit) However this would certainly not put us off as I said the food was top notch and the staff were all friendly and made conversation
Revisited for lunch after 15 years. Great food, fab service and excellent value. Forgotten how nice the Granby is. Internal decoration has not changed a bit which is rather sweet. External rear car park could be improved - bins screened, weeds pulled out etc. Will not be leaving it long till we next return!
Really lovely to find a traditional village Pub/Restaurant with a friendly welcome and good reasonably priced food.
Sunday lunch. This time was only average. Insufficient veg and beef was only a barrage this. Won't stop us going back though. Everyone has an off day at times.
Being going here since 1971 always great food.
Best Sunday roast I've had for ages. The beef was pink & succulent, roasties crisp & fluffy with loads of veg. Pleasant welcoming staff & great service.
Lovely atmosphere and welcome - good range of dishes and food fresh - our steaks could have been reared though before service.
Very enjoyable meal- tasty food, well prepared- pleasant staff and reasonable cost. Only issue was that the request for coffees to be served with dessert wasn’t met. Otherwise all was very good.
Ps Would suggest customers with large cars not allowed to park in front thus blocking pavement and forcing customers walking from car park to have to go onto road - pretty dangerous!!
Very attentative staff (without being in your face).
Food was excellent and very reasonably priced, would highly recommend.
We stayed at The Granby Inn for a couple of nights and decided on the first night we would eat there. They do a Set Menu which is £22.95 for 3 courses, or A La Carte we opted for two courses starter and main as I thought I might be overfaced with dessert as well, I wasn't wrong. For starters my husband had Black Pudding Scotch Egg which he said was lovely and I had Deep Fried Camembert which was also lovely. For main we both had Rump steak with all the trimmings and it was lovely and cooked just as we like it. Also had a very nice bottle of their House White Wine. The people are very friendly and would definitely recommend
Very friendly, very good food, well worth a visit!
Lovely pub. Nice food. Staff very friendly and helpful.
What an amazing evening. Food was outstanding, great service from all staff members. I’ve already been looking in my diary for when we can plan our next visit!
