Lying deep in the heart of Suffolk, The Grange Hotel and Restaurant charms from the moment you set eyes on it, the rustic, homely appearance of the building set amongst its own secluded garden area of open countryside providing a warm welcome. Before your meal, perhaps set foot in to the Lounge Bar, which opens on to the terrace and Garden, and sample the selection of fine beers whilst five chefs prepare food from the freshest ingredients for the Garden Restaurant and the Adam Room, its more formal counterpart. A la carte dining on fine British cuisine and an extensive wine list are offered, as well as grand, traditional roast lunches on Sundays.

Grange hotel is a small country hotel with a restaurant served by a chef with a clear passion for cooking. Absolutely everything was prepared from basic ingredients. Food is modern British but perfectly cooked. We had a set Xmas lunch which was also very good value. It is a real fnd

The Grange, Thurston
Sunday lunch between wedding parties, food fair, service intermittent and when I asked for a becks blue ended up with a bottle of bud-and no choice.
Only 4 in the dining room and staff not very chipper.
Having said that I knew there would be a wedding there and it was nice and sunny- for the terrace when it wasn't full of people smoking.
its fair for the price, but a one off and the building is tired too

Limited menu We were the only people in the dining room which was probably due to a wedding reception service friendly but slightly amateur Good value for money

My salmon was nice & my husband's duck was very good. Portions are very generous. We arrived at The Grange rather late due to bad traffic, so the dining area was nearly deserted, hence poor ambiance.

We visited The Grange Hotel and Restaurant one Friday lunchtime. The weather was terrible so we were the only people there.

We recieved a warm welcome and had drinks in the bar overlooking the pretty garden.

The decor is traditional Country House, wood panelling etc. The menu is all a la carte, and Modern European in style. The wine list is pretty good with a selection of wines by the glass as well as by the bottle.

The food, service and drink was all good, recommended.

The Grange Hotel and Restaurant is a little gem of a place just outside Bury St Edmunds.
Our meal was delightful, the atmosphere just right and at a very agreeable price. I had the sirloin steak which was beautifully cooked. The cut was excellent, good marbling and rich flavour.
I would recommend to anyone who enjoys good food.

The Grange restaurant served us a most enjoyable meal of carrot and coriander soup followed by lemon-marinaded chicken on crushed potatoes. The restaurant was not busy, being a Monday, the service was very attentive and the wine list is well chosen. This was a special occasion for me and my partner and did not disappoint.

The Grange Restaurant was just what we wanted a rural retreat to eat a pleasant meal and pass time with friends. The service was excellent and we would not hestiate to go again.

The food at the Grange appears to be 'variable' with all my courses being absolutely delicious, including one of their signature dishes of sea bass on squid ink risotto. We were not impressed by the decoration of every dish whilst this flavour may enhance some dishes, not everything!
