First time here and would return for the food but not for the service. We went in for the McDonalds McSkirt Event we got the McSkirt meal included a pig Mac bao, okonomiyaki fries with a souvenir pin and a soft drink for $15. I would come back for the bao and fries it was delicious, soft _______ it tasted like you were having a Big Mac. At first our first fries were cold and that was unfortunate but when I placed our second McSkirt meal the fries were even better and hot. What was disappointing was the toy (a regular business pin which felt like more of a let down) for $5. We also order the mystery container with the Oreo cocktail and that was a good suggestion from our server. For the place being filled with a lot of staff members it was pretty disorganized. Sometimes would notice staff members just standing around and when you looked for them no one would at least stop to ask if you needed some help. The parrot worked harder than the server. We were greeted but it was pretty crappy never got our items correct we had to ask for another server for our soda the first time. Server rarely came and looked more lost. Didn’t offer to clear up the table when clearly the food was done. Another staff member who delivered our happy meals had more enthusiasm and would be the person to assist us more. At the end our server would “assist” to wash the cup to take home. When we checked the cup it was all grimy filled in with a used napkin. Gross.

Fun place! Tiki drinks are excellent!!! They expanded the menu, which was a nice surprise!!! Loved the California roll tacos- super yummy, as were the Dan Dan noodles and the pork and shrimp wontons. We come back every time we come to San Diego!!

Great atmosphere, drinks, food and service! My wife and I had a painkiller, mai tai and clairified colada to drink. Kailbi beef tacos and shrimp and pork wontons to eat. All were great! Will definitely be back!!

Marco our server was incredible! He was attentive, very friendly and extremely knowledgeable of both the food, drinks, and establishment. The Grass Skirt was on our list of places to visit in San Diego and it did not disappoint in any way! We came for our anniversary and Marco immediately hooked us up with celebratory shots that were incredible. The ambiance and overall atmosphere was amazing! Marco kept us fed and thirst quenched with no pressure to hurry up and leave. The Captains Quarters was also on our “must do” list and though we didn’t have a reservation, he set us up at the bar and the experience was second to none! Marco “thank you “ for making our anniversary dinner so special and memorable!

Our experience wasn’t like what I had heard about this place. Booked a month prior and they sat us on patio with fireplace on in August. 2nd option wasn’t great either facing a wall. The Tuna Tar Tar was all ground up and didn’t seem sushi grade. Waiter told my friend, “Well live and learn. And walked away.” Recommend asking for a booth or bar seating if you want better ambience and experience overall.

Such a cool place! From the ambiance to the food, it was such a great experience. Our food was delicious! We also were able to get a punch bowl, which was on happy hour. Highly recommend trying one! Our server was also wonderful. Will definitely be back!

We loved the true TIKi vibe of Grass Skirt!! Awesome & thematic, beautiful decor, little light shows, and charming waitresses!!! Drinks were full pour and fabulous presentation with clever tied straws and perfect garnishes. Food was tasty, better than usual bar food. Our family included seniors and college age, *everyone* enjoyed the evening very much! Thank you to management for your hospitality and hiring of excellent staff!!!
